Sing a Happy Song

SING A HAPPY SONG

When life goes wrong
as it sometimes will;
sing a happy song.
When the world is out of step,
as it often is,
just sing a happy song.
Pray every day for Jesus to help.
He is our brother;
He is our wealth.
When things go wrong,
it's to Jesus we belong.
Just sing a happy song.

Jesus Is My Joy

JESUS IS MY JOY

Jesus, I adore you.
I live my life for you.
Without your love,
I could not be.
You bring happiness
and joy to me.
There's not a day that goes by
when I do not need your lullaby.
How great you are.
You bring me peace.
As I write your poems,
I find release.
Others must see
how great You are.
You made the mountains.
You made the stars.

The World Man Created

THE WORLD MAN CREATED

Would there be a change in Heaven
in the stars of the sky
if the world looked for truth
in the integrity of the eye?

What if people took
responsibility for themselves
and started to be bold
instead of staying on the shelves?

Could we save this universe
by restructuring our lives,
by eliminating in this world
our unnatural drives?

We don't need more churches
to go sit in a pew.
If citizens became active
more peace might ensue.

Could we save this world
from destruction in the end
if we planted truth and hope
deep within the hearts of men?

Could we eliminate wars
by learning how to live
and teach how to love
by knowing when to give?

When God does return
to the world man created
will He find our accomplishments
worthy and feel elated?

Or will we be the people
with their talents in the ground
and when the Lord returned
that was all that He found?

God Is In Everything

GOD IS IN EVERYTHING

Whenever I go to the forest,
I see God stands like a tree,
waving from the distance
on the world majestically.
I watch Him in the busy squirrels
stashing nuts away;
then marvel at Him in the moths
that by the fireside play.
God is in everything.
He dances with the wind,
tumbling leaves around
everywhere with Him.

There Are Times

THERE ARE TIMES

Lord, there are times
when I do not live
up to Your expectations.
Teach me lovingly
to be firm in my faith.
Lord, there are times
when I grow tired of living.
Teach me never to give up
because I know you are there.
Lord, there are times
when I feel sorrow.
Teach me to pray to you
when I feel alone.
There is no one dearer
than You, Lord.
The world stands, exists
because you are there.

The Good Shepherd

THE GOOD SHEPHERD

The Lord is kind.
He is Divine.
He gives us life
and what we know.
Without the Lord
nothing could grow.

Satan, the Bad Shepherd

SATAN, THE BAD SHEPHERD

The Shepherd of the World
knows where to find his flock
and how to change their minds
and teach them what is not.

He knows what sheep want.
He knows what to say.
How to trick those sheep
to see things his way.

The Shepherd of the World
reads good and bad books.
He knows what impresses sheep
and how to control his looks.

He''s learned from other Shepherds
who've done this thing before,
who have so confused their sheep
that they died for them and more.

He plots out each move
as he pushes them to play.
With the money that he makes
he gives them back stale hay.

The Shepherd of the World
knows how to lock sheep in.
And what do they do for him?
     They call him Friend.

Jesus Paid the Price

JESUS PAID THE PRICE

When no one believes in me,
I feel worthless and lost.
When no one believes in me,
I feel like I've died on the cross.
I know how Jesus felt.
But He paid the price.
He died to save humanity.
The way He died wasn't nice.
There is no one like Jesus,
no one is like Him.
I know that He suffered
when He died for our sin.
Do you ever thank Jesus for dying for you?
Do you ever think about Him
and what He went through?

The Candle and the Flame

THE CANDLE AND THE FLAME

When I become the candle
and you become the flame,
I will burn for you so brightly.
Will you love me just the same?
When my taper is not present
and my tallow brings desire,
will you turn ever so slowly
to reveal my hidden fire?
If I leave behind my essence
in the candle of your heart,
will you light another candle
in the haven that we start?
May my warmth ignite your spirit
in the shadows after dark
and may the fires of Heaven
be rekindled in your heart.

Killing Old People

KILLING OLD PEOPLE

The Government is dipping
into Social Security now.
That's the reason why
the New York Governor Cuomo
put virus victims in old folk's homes
instead of putting them in hospitals.
It's easier to kill old people that way
and get their Social Security.
The Government is wise
when it comes to spending
other people's money.
If the Government can abort babies,
it can kill old people too
whom they think have outlived their usefulness.

Fix the Streets

FIX THE STREETS

Fix the streets.
One day the people will rebel
and stop paying taxes.

Fix the streets.
No one will want to live
here in San Diego.

Fix the streets.
One day the people
will revolt.

Fix the streets.
This is not the time
to put up with crooked politicians.

Fix the streets.
Wealthy people won't want to live here.
Fix the streets.

Eyes

EYES

Her eyes are blue and mine are brown.
They talk of her throughout the town.
How pretty her eyes some people say.
They're blue like the sky
on a summer day.
My boyfriend prefers the eyes I have.
At least I can see,
for that I am glad.
My eyes are brown like the earth he said.
I hope he'll remember that after we're wed.

A Prayer

AN EASTER PRAYER

Dear Lord,

Protect us from ourselves.
Teach us to be gentle, humble people
who can love and trust our family.
Keep us loyal to each other,
and satisfied with the world you gave us.
Help us to defend your ways
against our leader's desires
before we destroy ourselves
and your beautiful world.

I Do Not Fear the Night

I DO NOT FEAR THE NIGHT

I love to pray to Jesus.
He is my personal light.
Without Him, I'd be lost in sin
every stormy night.

Jesus understands my fears.
He knows my every doubt.
He loves me unconditionally.
He comprehends what my life's all about.

I am not perfect.
He takes me by the hand.
I have personal defects,
but Jesus understands.

Jesus helps by forgiving me.
He guides me with His light.
So that when my evening of death comes
I will not fear the night.

Clouds Form the Stepping Stones To Heaven

CLOUDS FORM THE STEPPING STONES TO HEAVEN

Clouds form the stepping stones to Heaven.
I count them each day as I pray.
There are more than seven.
God puts them there every day.
They lead to mountains and forests of green,
the most beautiful world that I've ever seen.
Rivers that carpet the earth with blue.
Everything God said is true.
Climb to God's Kingdom and you will see
marbled mountains and leafy trees,
flowers that never, never die.
You can reach God if you try.
It takes faith to climb a cloud
far beyond the city crowd.
People who watch say it can't be done,
but I climb them each day with God's Son.
