That slow and spectacular gait of a bride
Brimming as she is with nuptial pride
With grace and beauty each regal stride
as invitees whisper, 'here comes the bride'.
She for her big day so perfectly embellished
Her love-match said to be divinely predestined.
On their big day even the plain-faced, homely ones
turn into comely beauties
A magical day as it is, of rituals and formalities.
All the fuss and pomp, she almost feels like a queen
Her glamour thus showcased, with praise dön't be mean.
Attired in any hue, rose-red or even snow-white
She glows with an aura of pure holy sacred light.
Many overawed by the debut of her bridal charm
Yet, watch out O' newly weds for any evil eye's harm.
For the pinnacle of her womanly splendour and beauty
is now upon coveted passion's pedestal and apogee
She on stage now with only love's trophy and token
Just graduating from spinsterhood, to disappear the maiden!
As the center of attention, she turns into an actress
Her emotions under zoom lens, a bit easier to guess
For close-ups she knows she has to impress.
Some coy, some bashful, some hiding joy in the heart of hearts
With cameras clicking, drums beating, her new life starts
Friends: Poetry Soupers,
Brethren of literary troopers,
I pray God to do my best
to wish us all a Christmas blest,
And if our loves ideas and bents
are not the same,
Perhaps we can meditate on
from whence we came.
At least in that light be together,
As Birds of a poetic feather.
I extend to you an olive branch
carried by peaceful Dove,
And wish you
Mercy ,Wisdom and Love.
We pray you have, Poetry Soupers
A joyous Christmas and happy New Year
May God bless All His literary troopers.
Hunger is worldwide; I don't understand why
Trash cans are filled with untouched food
Starvation is real; why must another die?
We can feed the homeless from our food supply;
Or help food banks, it can brighten their mood,
Hunger is worldwide; I don't understand why.
Wasting food is a major issue, we mustn't deny,
We should help if we can and stop being rude
Starvation is real; why must another die?
It's affecting us all; do you hear the earth’s cry?
Not just a “them” problem, I must conclude
Hunger is worldwide; I don't understand why.
We fill our belly with everything that we buy,
And see someone in need and are often shrewd
Starvation is real; why must another die?
Restaurant plates have a ton of uneaten food; sigh,
Our waste can be a lifeline to the homeless dude.
Hunger is worldwide; I don’t understand why,
Starvation is real; why must another die?
woeful wanting world wages war,
wait, woodland wakens, wondrous wind instruments,
wafting whimsically,
wood nymphs waltz,
whooping cranes whish wherever,
woodpeckers woolgathering,
woebegone withers,
worldwide peace
I woke up this morning
Something special on my mind
Today I must light a candle so that
Their Light May Always Shine.
I light it for the babies
That didn’t make this world this time
They died before or after birth, hope
Their flickering light will always shine.
So many couples wait in vain
Hoping maybe it will be their time
Suffering all the stress and pain
Please let their light always shine
So many tears today and lonely thoughts
The why and wherefores, maybe next time
They pray and hope all answers have been sought
God make their light always shine
Next year a new life might be theirs
But never will they forget the time
When hope was lost thought no one cared
Always and forever their light must shine.
The world is corrupt, why can't we see
Our time here is limited, tolerance is the key
Too many have have died
Need to live side by side
Get together for a worldwide peace jamboree
I am writing this as vivid as a candlelight dancing in the dark ~
Portraying shadows of my greatest regrets.
There’s a battle going on around the world ~
Even as the sunrise enters and shines inside these walls ~
And through the nights, stars frolicking like ladybugs dancing in silence ~
I, sited in anguish and guilt think that the exclusion of one man ~
From the battlefield could spell victory in our favor ~
And so I cowardly isolate myself into a silent warrior ~
Just as a sniper would ~
Lying flat on his belly, watching from a far distance ~
Less conspicuous to the enemy.
I hope that my dormancy helps us get the upper hand ~
But before I head out on this conquest, know that I had fought a good fight
London 2012 Worldwide poets still needed for Festival event
More than 20 writers are still needed for an event to include a poet from every nation competing in the 2012 Olympics and Paralympics.
Ha, ha, this Laureate is an interesting candidate:
Writers already confirmed include Jang Jin Seong - former court poet to North Korean dictator Kim Jong-il.
GREAT LEADER
Kim Jong-il.
I praise you with my quill
Jong can do no wrong
Because he pays my bill : )
*** Poet’s Greetings ***
(Written for Victor Buhaglar)
Does the Malta shore pause its gurgling rush
Of roll-over waves to hush
In appreciation of your hand brushing its ending, foamed
Touch over the sand, which is the greeting
I’ve sent on to you, dear poet brother, as I do most every day.
Is your extension of my sent greeting from
Half a world away, some pleasant handing over of a day’s friendship,
Where my good-night wishes
Greet your morning breakfast?
So, I fall asleep to your waking —
A walking into a new dawn’s possibilities…
Unless we both bypass time
To give up on rest and remain awake to welcome
The poetry that stays stirring, hunting
A bare recording space through our fingertips;
Unseen one to each other and all, but still present
In one far away place to another — catching
The gasps of wind gusts, or swallowing the ominous
Shadows of pre-dawn and pre-dusk, where
We pause to fill the separating disdance between
Your shores there and our mountains here,
With sprites peeking over our shoulders, and
Faeries dancing for their morning teas or night sherry —
Expecting after all these years, the sent messages that the heartfelt
Poetry being voiced between us and danced over the world’s
Extended beaches, will continue still,
Waiting, holding onto plates of thick, iced cake
And cut, lushious, fresh fruit, which we will enjoy together
While hours apart.

Thanks be to God. Grateful for the slow but steady
Improvement of my health. Have missed all here on PSp
during recent trials while hospitalized.
We ponder what will be our fate
As Earth we over-populate.
More industry we generate
And agriculture propogate.
Many species we decimate
As Planet Earth we dominate.
Bigger cities we now create.
In high-rise blocks we concentrate.
Now pathogens grow at a rate
And fly worldwide to dissipate.
We ponder what will be our fate.
Worldwide Pollution
In Nigeria, in Lagos, in lands far away
The garbage pile’s growing more and more each new day.
The US is known for throwing trash in the road
The UK comes close with a big garbage load
But lands that are far are must worse than this quote
India and Asia are at the top of the note
For having no way to throw garbage away
In Pakistan the children have nowhere to play
In Egypt the pyramids were built for the kings
Now they are outnumbered by garbage and things
Qatar has a problem, Afghanistan too
But so does the US, as if nobody knew
Mexico, India, Madagascar is bad!
What Disney does show us, it’s not, it is sad
The animals live in trash along with the land
In Haiti there’s practically nowhere to stand
In Russia there are tons of bad toxins and waste
In China the air is so thick you can taste
The dirt in the air that we all need to breath
The world is all garbage, let’s all plant a seed
Let’s stop all the nonsense, the garbage, the trash
Let’s ask man to value the earth not just cash
Crazy COVID-19 has us all in a tizzy
Too much information making all of us dizzy
Most who’ve been exposed self-quarantine
Running out of toilet paper making us mean
“Social distancing” is the phrase du jour
Scientists scrambling now to find the cure
Hurry!
(Chorus)
COVID-19 apolitical
Proper testing so critical
Slow response hypocritical
Naysayers hypercritical
Division and strife
Don’t take my life
Give it back!
What started out in China as an epidemic
No respecter of nations totally pandemic
All around the world countries shutting down
Even New York City looks like a ghost town
Is there no end to this viral mess
As our way of life’s forced to evanesce?
Scary!
(Chorus)
COVID-19 apolitical
Proper testing so critical
Slow response hypocritical
Naysayers hypercritical
Division and strife
Don’t take my life
Give it back!

suddenly appear
unsuspecting carriers—
Coronavirus
They told me there is no jackalope.
I said, "your head is like a cantalope!"
Ignorance and fear, better than a cold beer?
Stupidity, like the virus!
Wuhan ….leave it behind us!

Worldwide is far bound with all,
Outspoken making the world to call,
Right ways and wrong are out to make,
Leaving each time zone at steak,
Dividing the signs into a loop,
When time is out the hour glasses hoop,
Inside and out makes it fold,
Dealing with people learning to hold,
Entitled ways to make sense astray.
