Hunger-A Major Worldwide Problem

Hunger is worldwide; I don't understand why
Trash cans are filled with untouched food
Starvation is real; why must another die?

We can feed the homeless from our food supply;
Or help food banks, it can brighten their mood,
Hunger is worldwide; I don't understand why.

Wasting food is a major issue, we mustn't deny,
We should help if we can and stop being rude
Starvation is real; why must another die?

It's affecting us all; do you hear the earth’s cry?
Not just a “them” problem, I must conclude
Hunger is worldwide; I don't understand why.

We fill our belly with everything that we buy,
And see someone in need and are often shrewd
Starvation is real; why must another die?

Restaurant plates have a ton of uneaten food; sigh,
Our waste can be a lifeline to the homeless dude.
Hunger is worldwide; I don’t understand why,
Starvation is real; why must another die?

Hunger breaks my heart! Thank you for reminding us that there are hungry people right in front of us. Hopefully those who read and are touched by your poem will become involved with local groups that feed people. Every Christmas we collect cans of food to donate to a local group feeding the hungry. Congratulations and blessings my friend.

'Tis mind-boggling, truly, when out-of-sight-out-of-mind, plagues upon the so-called, remorseful. Well done, Alexis, Aloha!

I mentioned to Eve how many billionaires there are in this world. Corruption galore. But who cares about others?

You are right my friend. Hunger is a problem in many societies and something can be done to relieve it. Solutions are not easy, but like your poem, there is much attention being given to this problem. There is hope for the future.

Why? A cry in the wilderness of human indifference, my dearest friend. It is because greed has taken over the hearts of men. Only if love evicts greed , food will be found to feed the hungry. Congratulations for writing such a humanitarian poem, dearest, Alexis. Blessings. Hugs xxx

Most supermarkets toss unmarketable food and then padlock their dumpster to ensure the hungry do not eat it .......Isn't religion wonderful? Aloha! Rico

Hi Alexis, Life is harsh; hunger is universal; I wonder why trashed food remains uneaten. A lifesaver for the homeless person. Great subject and great verses; thanks for sharing this. Best regards Alexis
