Premium Member Hot Grey Matter

There is nothing hotter than a sexy brain
A one of a kind
The bigger the better

With swagger

Nothing titillates more than stroking genius
Sending ripples through the psyche
An ignited muse invoking rapture

With inspiration and seduction
Sliding hand in hand dear

When my mind is whet
You penetrate

I quiver

Premium Member Muses In Gold

To glide with inspiration above quilted clouds
 Where birds so often soar
Glimpse a sunset hued in gold
 With many colors to adore

To grasp the muse that swing from creative vines
 And sway from abstract thoughts
Upon the page release the lines
 Which meander within the plots

Clasp the quill as the ink flows
 And carefully craft each verse
Clutch the metaphors in rhyme or prose
As throughout the page they intersperse

Sometimes the ending can hold a surprise
And cause a gasp in its trail
The words flow subtly and with guise
 Its meaning you then inhale

Premium Member Because I Live

"I have lived thousands, thousands and thousands of days;
I have loved a hundred loves or more;
I have written thousands and thousands of words;
And this has been enough. "
                                        Quote by _ Constance

Because I live- I have been able
to help my parents who loved me well
in their last days
I have been that arm that cradled their heads
that hand that held theirs
in a final breath

Because I live- God has blessed me
given me this gift of words
and I am ever grateful
to be able to pen my pain
and if my sorrow can help a single person
my purpose is done

Because I live- I have God and Jesus
in my life and they are my path
they have filled me with kindness
compassion and giving
and their heavenly light
shines from me

Because I Live- and did not die
many times along my journey
I have been able to touch many a life
with my words, poetry and pen
with inspiration
and who can ask for more

Because I live- I met true love
the most amazing man
beautiful in face, heart, soul, and mind
and though his destiny was short
and his home is a heavenly one
I will love him forever

Live in the sunshine, swim the sea, drink the wild air
(Ralph Waldo Emerson)
________________________________________

Cherish the moments, rising on fabric of fuchsia skies,
Painting motifs of amber dawn, dipped in golden sunrise,
In brushstrokes mauve, tinted pink, on opaline skyline;
Where themes heavenly with dreams of morn entwine.

Ride path of sun’s trajectory, soak-in aureate sunshine,
Be amid nature’s mystery, sky-scapes of mystical design;
Rejoice the day, in its prime, revel life’s moments sublime,
Before they wither away, falling prey to reign of time.

Sail the blue waves, synchronize with rhythms of sea,
Undulating with inspiration of tides, vying shores of glee,
Ruminating of paradise, afloat on resplendence, carefree;
Blissful, hearing robins sing, watching butterflies spree.

Be hypnotized, on cusp of twilight, inhale the wild air,
Pulsating from hearts of trees as winds westerly blare;
Be the moment chiming, strumming tenor of breeze,
Snuggling rosy delight, caressing eve’s blush of tease.

Extolling arc of crimson horizon, lost in sun’s goodbye,
As day-decaying beautifies aura, in shades of magenta dye,
Capture the moments blazing fire, ceding to moonlight,
Dipping in the ocean, dispersing glimmer of ruby delight.

Premium Member Calmness

Calm are the still leaves, waiting to fall
Water without ripples, reflections complete
The quiet air waits under the pines
Soft needles laying in place on the ground
On an empty path leading to solitude
To venture in trust without words
Beneath skies, changing color
To sip the fresh air with each slow breath
Heartbeats in unison with footsteps
Into the wide open meadow
Where not a blade of grass moves
Only the soul is stirred with inspiration
Sparked by the calmness within

Premium Member In Him, I Found Myself

There was a moment when I couldn’t speak or breath
One sweet moment filled with enchantment, a dream
Brilliant rays of hope surrounded me with beauty, peace
Scarlet hues of grace captivating my heart with a sense
Of purity and bliss, revelations of a thrill
Racing through my veins
Erasing all traces
Of pain

In his touch, I discovered earth shattering warmth
A wellspring of joy that embraced my heart
Music from within that weakened me
Broke free from the usual inhibition
Coloring me with inspiration
Awakening amazement
Joy and love

In his kiss, I found a part of my spirit aroused
Blending into his feelings and sweetness
The compassion that gripped me with
A sense of yearning, pure longing
For more of his truth, his caress
The answer to my angst
Assurance that I could be
Alive in a way that seemed
Passionate beyond my
Own dreams

Heaven opened up it’s portals and threw out
Answers to all my worries and struggles
Courage to face my fears
Enthusiasm and pleasure
Bountiful whispers of
Joy and special
Feelings

Love that is unconditional
And eternally welcome
Within a heartbeat
Of hope for
Unity

In him, I found myself

Premium Member Without Notice To Run

Time can fly with inspiration and fun
Releasing our soul to love with our gifts
I walked a mile, without notice to run

Thoughts, grains of sand, collect in sand dune drifts
The ocean curls and wraps hugs around me
Releasing our soul to love with our gifts

My words can reach farther than I can see
Shells echo everything back to be
The ocean curls and wraps hugs around me

Choice with our time, allows us to be free
To dive in the ocean with our free will
Shells echo everything back to me

Our faith and real purpose, no-one can kill
Freed by the wind that arrives anywhere
To dive in the ocean with our free will

Watching a sunset, I can only stare
Time can fly with inspiration and fun
To live simply, is only a small fare
I walked a mile without notice to run

The Word Weaver

Things look bleak, hopeless...

A tapestry of images in my head
swirls and tells me a story,
hauntingly beautiful
then unravels so fast---

I try to catch ahold of it,
but fail.
Or so I think...
a single thread of thought
stays with me,
it winds through my fingers
and glows

Another thought floats by
so I pluck at it.
I let it intermingle
with inspiration,
then mesh it together with creativity

My loom is my imagination
my thoughts, my thread
urging me,
compelling me
to weave the story

and so I do.

For I am a word weaver.
As thoughts go in,
words come out
to create something
that warms the heart,
that uplifts the spirit.

I am a word weaver of life.
Allow my tapestry to comfort you,
even just for a while.

Premium Member To Capture a Poet

The best way to capture a poet
You can place them in a cage of words
Within verse their emotions contained
Each beat of their heart steeped in the pain

You can place them in a cage of words
Still they will write their way to freedom
Each beat of their heart steeped in pain
They wake up in the morning and sing

Still they will write their way to freedom
Poets are a complicated breed
They wake up in the morning and sing
With inspiration their souls will rise

Poets are a complicated breed
With their words they cut away the chains
With inspiration their souls will rise
Through worded walls they make their escape

With their words they cut away the chains
Within verse their emotions contained
Through worded walls they make their escape
With words you can't capture a poet

Premium Member Poets At Play

Poets at Play

I played with words today –
They called to me
“Come out and play with us!”
Childhood companions
Building rhythms like treehouse forts –
Playhouses of analogy -
Crafting rhymes that follow the leader
Into mud pie irony;
Playing peek-a-boo with synonyms,
Hide and seek with inspiration;
Coming out of hiding places in stanzas
Stacked like pick up sticks;
Patty cake in anagrams –
"A tacky pest" like little brothers –
Jumping out, to yell “Surprise!”
In the “punniest” personifications;
Slide down the metaphoric slide
To allegories of apple trees;
Swing back and forth with double entendre - sky high in the sky;
Hang upside down from “jungle-gyms” whistling alliteration
Hop scotch acrostics
March in meter to rock, paper, scissors -
Wondering what to wear and where I Spy anagrams;
Building up London Bridge, falling down in metrics,
To stand like statues of frozen tag
With your friend assonance
Taking sides like antonyms in games so like red rover
Chasing similes with smiles, to kick the can down the road,
Duck and run in duck, duck goose;
Measure feet in a leap frog of a blind man’s bluff;
Time to come in – come in free verse for the day,
Simon says now writing right just as fun
As a cat’s cradle at the end of my word play.

My words are birds hatched from ideas
and nourished by my own opinions, beliefs and memories.
Nature too provides me with inspiration and wings to fly!
I build nests using poetic devices and various poetry forms – often rhymed.

nests of many thoughts

Premium Member Agape Love

I’ve been hard and I’ve been soft
My heart has known love
And my heart has known disgust
I’ve been strong and I’ve been weak
My heart has known hope
And my heart has known despair
I’ve been warm and I’ve been cold
My heart has known passion
And my heart has known apathy

From the center of my heart
Where only God can see or know
There lives a woman who loves
Beyond her yearning dreams, completely

I’ve been happy and I’ve been sad
My heart has known pleasure
And my heart has known sorrow
I’ve been spontaneous and I’ve been withdrawn
My heart has known freedom
And my heart has known inhibition
I’ve been thankful and I’ve been ungrateful
My heart has known appreciation
And my heart has known ingratitude

From the depths of my heart
There love lives and opens the door
To faith that fills my life with inspiration
For feelings that create true satisfaction

I’ve been confident and I’ve been insecure
My heart has known positive assurance
And my heart has known apprehension
I’ve been a silent light and I’ve been noisy
My heart has known soundless joy
And my heart has known thunderous grief
I’ve been concerned and I’ve been untroubled
My heart has known reflective worry
And my heart has known how to be carefree

From the depths of my heart
There love arouses my hope to know
Kindness that prays and praises the One
Who makes my heart full beyond thought

From the depths of my heart
Where kindness awakens my best
Thrilling tones and hues of warmth
Awaken my affection of Deity, God

The ruler of my life, the One who knows
The depths of my heart and soul
And who gives me the opportunity to listen
To the whisper of His breath in my love

From my heart… I know hope
From my heart… I know faith
From my heart… I know grace
From my heart… I know love
From my heart… I know Him

The One who answers from above
With the strongest and sweetest agape Love!

Premium Member Autumn Reflections

Crisp, fresh air breathes a caress over my frame
Filling me with inspiration for the season aflame

With vibrant and bold hues of crimson and gold
Musical whispers, both brilliant and uncontrolled

Dancing, vibrating with life, the leaves come down
Soundless and gentle as a soft kiss silencing a frown

Echoes of serenity trembling across the forest floor
Leaves twirling joyfully with a yearning to explore

Miracles radiate from the soothing touch of the sun
Amid naked limbs where leaves wouldn’t be outdone

Breaking away from the sighs of softly falling leaves
The caress of moonbeams trail a prayer that believes

Rich, warming shades from God’s stunning paint brush
Hesitate to reveal the compassion that ignites a blush

Joy follows the ripples of autumn’s haunting heartbeat
Praising the thought of One who does forever complete

Shimmering summer sun falls silently beneath the fall
Who has come to enlighten spirits before the snowfall

His decorative touch has given the land a second chance
To be filled with enthusiasm and mystery at first glance

Giving thanks for all He has provided; hope, faith and love
Gifts and treasures shining on us, sent from heaven above

Premium Member In the Mail, Christmas Cheer

Merry Christmas hail
mailed to every heart we love
gentle embrace sent

joy to the whole world
our king brings love, hope and peace
a sense of pure grace

on this silent night
His love shone so strong and bright
filled hearts with real life

the wise men came to
see the light of the world, Him
who would be the salt

hope filled the dark night
with inspiration - insight
feelings that bring peace
