What would the future, wiser me
The lonely widow I'm sure to be
Say to me, today

How precious, his baritone groan
To muted ears left all alone
Once he's flown away

Life's rivers drain abruptly swift
So recognize this timeless gift
Let this moment - stay

Wet But Wiser

palindromes

A dog! A panic in a pagoda!
Teenager Rex brought a can of soda;
he shook it up hard and then pulled the tab.
But Rex was too slow for their choc'late lab.

Cain: a maniac, the brown dog's head swelled,
confused by the fizz but a rat he had smelled.
He was a god's dog, ergo, a ogre -
mighty fine watchdog, well-trained at Kroger.

Schooled in their stockroom with all kinds of nuts
whose tricks won ribbons for all kinds of mutts.
Cain's radar kicked in, went straight for the can
and turned it on Rex who lost his game plan.

On the way out, Cain offered some Kleenex.
No one's the wiser, except maybe Rex.
Recording the facts, Cain writes in his log,
Was it a rat I saw? or Am I a dog?

6 palindromes:

Older does not necessarily
equate to wiser -- but wiser
can often make one seem a lot
older; in fact, robbed of youth
by poverty and war, I have
sadly met, too many premature
ancients: -- cynicism
in their eyes; where
should reside bright, hopeful
gleams -- dreams, obliterated,
man's faux surface designs over-inking truer light,
little more than colorful
tattoos
of ever
deeper
representation
of spirit
terminating
blight --

Withered But Wiser

****** WITHERED BUT WISER ******

              Older becomes withered, but hopefully wiser...
           Thinning skin becomes invisibly thicker, tougher...
         Dry and delicate though more resilient and resolute...
    Wrinkled mouth still strong and determined to impart wisdom...
          Diminished sight seeing life more clearly than ever...
          Less endurance yet more strength to keep on living...
           Weaker hands still strong for hugs and embraces...
     Declining memory for yesterday but remembering in detail...
            past years of children, birthdays, anniversaries...
                 Weaker heart beating strong and sure...
                  With renewed purpose and passions...
           So, age related changes, probably subjectively...
         viewed as negative actually morphed into positives...
                        for the benefits of us all...
               ~~~~ WITHERED BUT WISER ~~~~
                Aged losses become youths' gains....!!
Premium Member Sadder, But Wiser
Caught up in your words of sincerity
Closest of friends, we shared from our hearts
Twisting the truth was your reality.
A wounded soul, you craved security
I wanted to help you, to do my part
Caught up in your words of sincerity.
You shared past hurts, had a sad history
It was important to make a fresh start
Twisting the truth was your reality.
Naive, I bared my soul too easily
But you had a manipulative heart
Caught up in your words of sincerity.
In time, I found out you had lied to me
You took what you needed, as I fell apart
Twisting the truth was your reality.
The sorrow remains, as I take my leave
A life lesson learned, at least on my part
Caught up in your words of sincerity
Twisting the truth was your reality.
Wiser the Miser
I once had everything
too much in fact
confidence surging
until it told me that
I was wiser than the miser
so I thought to be so
the flaw of my empire
was I couldn't let go
of thinking people
can be taken at word
it took losing everything
for me to finally see
why the of the miser
was the wiser way to be
On top of temptation
sure of my self-control
with the strength of my spirit
I squeeze the hunger from my soul
Now weakness is conquered
I can hold my head high
without needing and wanting
what I need not to survive
just to feel more important
I offer in abundance what you seek
served up for a perfect murderer
waiting for the moment of dependency
withdraw all attention, suddenly reeling
swimming in an ocean of despair
without anyone there
I float aimlessly lifeless
but somehow reach the shore
I lay down to dry out
in the heat of the sun
i feel it's love radiation
fill the void of needing someone
as if it were trying to tell me
its not so bad up here alone
at least nothing can be taken
when the sky is your home
and no one ever again reached me
after I realized what was being said
the wiser the miser
once he never again trusted.
Selfishness appears wiser
why must my heart be bigger
at the moment of truth
wish they would pull the trigger
and end the pain
of either wrong choice
nobody there to listen
so in my head grows the voice
and the message from me
or a God of my special design
nobody can disprove
the choices of mine
because theyre all right to me
they determine my outcome
and if selfish it appears
a miser is one who is outdone
and better off for it
for he is still alive
call him the label that fits you
for his own are worn on the inside.
They Are Wiser
The song will spin and rake and weave
Night draws a warm, inviting sleeve
He walks along the water's crest
And picks the leaves that he likes best
How certain are the lovely girls
The calloused hands of aging earls
A locket with a bit of twine
Forget them all, this hour is mine
The sound of many worldly prayers
The splitting up of all the hairs
Will corner, force to choose a fate
To bring about what comes too late
Come sit upon a marble throne
Forget the room you called a home
Keep not one single bit of proof
That you were once a thing of youth
Bud Doesn'T Make You Wiser
To tell you this I have to go way back to a time when I was all about me and to young to admit knowing wrong from right and with that said. I go back to the age of
19 to 20. when I used to think bud-wiser did make me wiser and Jack Daniel's was my best friend.
I had been on along weekend of drinking and not a lot of sleep so I was out a the river setting in a lawn chair in the river nursing a bad head when a bunch of loud people and little kids decide to join me in the sun in this low spot in the river.
Now this river I was in was dog river it is just a mud hole for miles and I was not near the bridge I had walked a ways down the river so me and my pals could nurse our bad heads but the just had to bring them bad butts down river to us so being to bad girl that I am I remember I saw a dead snake in the woods when I went to go pee and I told my friend I was gonna clean up the river the guys said you don't need to start trouble. I knew if I told them they would never let me do it so I told my girl pal to cover for me and tell them I had to pee again.
I went and got the dead snake walk up stream and toss it in the water and when it started down passed to bunch of noise people you could hear them scream and run for the bank. I just sat real still but I forgot to mention to my guy friends what I did
and they saw it to they too left the river but me and my gal pal laugh so hard when they got to the car they noticed we are not there they came back and looked at us and ask what did I do so I told them I cleaned up the river with the snake so we had so peace and quite
Needless to say I to soon lost my guy pal after that he told me I was to CRAZY for him.
A Wiser Man
Watch and listen, learn, then talk
Wriggle crawl, then start to walk
ingesting knowledge, form ideas
discover pathways through the maze
fully formed then take your stand
unique among your fellow man
using wisdom air your views
be prepared for bad reviews
attend and hear what others say
Adjust, adapt and make your play
Many minds applied before
Have formulated truths Galore
Though you think your concept cool
Think it through, the golden rule
‘Better to say nothing and have people think you a fool
Than to open your mouth and prove them right’
Older and Wiser
With muscle and sinew we fight and rage
To stay the creature that steals youth so fast
And beat the long winded culprit of age
Paying to look as we did in the past
Armed with knife, dye and gym we wage our war,
Hair club come forward and be heard from too.
Where is the pill of youth for evermore?
To be young again, firm with pounds so few.
Why can we not find splendor in old age?
Its grace and dignity are gems to get.
There is no greater fire than of a sage,
Whose life’s had ins and outs with no regrets.
Each day they say we’re learning something new.
Just think how wise we’ll be at ninety-two.
Wiser Miser Who Ia a Supervisor
https://www.facebook.com/StMatthewsEpiscopalChurch
a knowledge miser
when he had become wiser
now a supervisor
what we did intend
much money to them will lend
all of it can spend
price gains and gains
from all of our money drains
price high still remains
more oil can create
high price will eradicate
how to educate
great start made to stitch
are not sure the one or which
that did have a glitch
new one we have found
was a townhouse on the ground
silent with no sound
A Wiser Blond
She got a bad rap for she was a blond
But this one couldn't be fooled or conned
He claimed he loved her and she believed
Till she found out she was being deceived
She caught him there with his pants down
He'd taken her for an inept clown
Cheating was one thing she couldn't abide
There was no place for him to hide
It hurt her badly but she was strong
To stay with him would just be wrong
A wiser blond now she left him tattered
Knowing her self respect's what mattered
So don't be thinking all blonds are stupid
She's got your number,you wily Cupid!
anagram for  DEBRA WILSON=  A WISER BLOND
By the way I always have spelled it-BLONDE but in Webster's Dictionary it is spelled both ways !
