Wise Men Still Seek Him Today

W-hen the fullness of time had come, Jesus was born behind an Inn in a cave-like stable.
I-n the Inn there was no room for the Son of God, no room for the Saviour of men.
S-tar was shining so bright above the stable for the shepherds to find their way to Him.
E-ven angels proclaimed His birth to those shepherds "Unto you is born this day."

M-anger is where Mary and Joseph first laid him. It was filled with hay.
E-very animal there must have known that their Creator had come that day.
N-o one knew the depth of love God had, to give His Son to dwell among men.

S-ame star guided three kings from the Orient, who studied the stars and heavens.
T-hese wise men from the East came saying "Where is He that is born King"
I-n their hands they brought him gifts of gold, frankincense and myrr.
L-ike these three wise men, wise men still seek him today!
L-ove is the reason that God sent His only Begotton Son into the world to save us.

S-eeking for you and me, yes God was seeking for us because we had left Him.
E-veryone, yes, all we like sheep have gone astray. Everyone to his own way.
E-ach one has to make his on decision to follow Him or not to follow Him.
K-ing, born to be a King. King of the ages. King of the past. King of the future.

H-eaven, He came from Heaven to earth to show us the right way.
I-niquity, the Lord hath laid on Him the iniquity of us all.
M-elody, He gives us a sweet melody, we sing many songs of praise to Him.

T-ree, A Christmas tree, the love that Jesus had for us, to die on a tree.
O-nly one life and how soon it passes. Only in life can we accept His Love.
D-eliverance, He came from Heaven to preach deliverance to the captives.
A-cknowlege Him and accept Him. Behold now is the accepted time.
Y-ou, Yes, this Christmas Love was for You. Will You accept this love?

A Very Wise Woman

I was one of many that had the priviledge
to live with my Grandparents. The lessons
I learned from them will remain with me for
the rest of my life. My Grandmother was a
very wise woman and her way of thinking
and explaining things made me listen.
I remember when one of my so called friends
set me up with with a blind date. A horrible
evening for me. When I got home and told
the story my Grandmother just laughed. Finally she ask me
"are you sure she is your friend", then she told me
the story of the rattlesnake.
Once there was a rattlesnake that got caught
in the freezing weather. A kindhearted man
found him and the snake said "please help me".
The man freed the snake and brought him into his
warm home and put him by the fire to warm.
The snake bit him and the kindhearted man
asked him "why did you bite me, I just saved your
life". The snake told the man, "you knew I was a
snake when you brought me in". I realized then
what she was talking about, choose your friends wisely.
One day I was helping this lady with some chores.
She was a very unfriendly woman and expected you
to work till you dropped. I told my Grandmother about it
and she said, "always remember, there are some people
that will work a willing horse to death". I remember
that lesson very well. My life was touched by this wonderful
woman in a way that I now tell these stories to my children.
Everyone must learn lessons, I pray you can learn them
from someone that lived during times that were hard, they
knew the meaning of hard times. The depression taught them well.

A pearl more precious
than possession of knowledge -
If I had wisdom
beyond that of Solomon,
I’d have no need for wishes.

A Wise Father

My wise old father said to me
Be kind and gentle to your wife
And happy you will always be
Throughout the years of married life

Be kind and gentle to your wife
For she is loving, soft and sweet
Throughout the years of married life
Her trust in you must be complete

For she is loving soft and sweet
So you must never do her wrong
Her trust in you must be complete
An honest heart will keep love strong

So you must never do her wrong
And happy you will always be
An honest heart will keep love strong
My wise old father said to me.

The Wise Old Owl

The wise old owl has come today
To train a young one in the way
Of all the things that it should know
So he can hoot and wisely grow

He'll show this one just what to do
So on it's own it'll fly so true
It's prey will never have a chance
When it swoops down in it's death dance

He'll soar the skies,he'll hide from view
He'll do the things he's been taught to do
Before you know it he'll be all grown
He'll be teaching others that are his own

But for right now he'll have to learn
Of all these things til it's his turn
So that when he's older he will be
The wise old owl on a teaching spree

Premium Member Will I Be Wise

If I go to the library each day
and seek out the knowledge there on display,
reading all the newspapers come what may,
and listen to what others have to say?
Then, will I be wise?

If I let the children teach me their way,
drop my inhibitions, and learn to play;
and ask old folks before time slips away,
their secret to keeping doldrums at bay?
Then, will I be wise?

If I study nature's wondrous array
questioning space and the stars as they lay;
or unearth ancient pots made of clay,
recovering treasures of buried Pompeii?
Then, will I be wise?

If I demystify ancient Cathay,
deciphering riddles of yesterday,
and embrace all the prophets when I pray
absorbing all that their teachings relay?
Then, will I be wise?

If I condemn all wars, strife, and melee,
voicing my objections without delay;
upholding truths that I'll never betray,
finding the courage to walk from the fray?
Then, will I be wise?

The Wise Owl

I am a white owl,
I listen to people’s scowl,
I turn a deaf ear to a drunk’s howl,
I don’t quench my thirst from your water bowl!
I come out at midnight,
So that, I don’t get to see you fight,
You can’t see my flight,
Still, I observe your helpless plight.
I am watchman of darkness,
I don’t get to share your happiness,
I am a wicked sorceress,
As I only watch your distress.
I am a great observer,
I am silent reporter,
I am a midnight dealer,
I am hopeless beggar
I weave proverbial satire,
I check your inner desire.
I am never the filler of your bread,
I am the hardest nut inside your chocolate,
My god is greater than your god,
I am the very pet owl of tribal god,
You can’t chain me on a rod,
I am the oddest of odds.
I often sit on your rooftop,
I observe the view from atop,
When clouds are my only neighbors,
I can inhale the sky’s odor.
I feel so small amid the sky-scrappers!
I can bring about good luck,
By sitting once on your rooftop,
I am emblem of wealth,
I value people’s sweats.
I am crusader of darkness,
I curse the conspirators,
I am pacifist minister,
I do betray the emperor!
Today, I am a wise owl of time,
I am wizkid of prime,
I am a bastard wisdom tooth,
You can’t take off from mouth,
I am a silent shout out!
I come out at night,
I eye people with my eyes,
I feel for those who can’t come out in daylight,
Every person has the right, to bask on sunlight.
No rule, no occupation can snatch their right.
I am your silent knight,
I am only observing your plight.

Wise Enough to Know

I'm wise enough
to know what I don't know
I think fast but my brain's slow
rivers of thought
cause my mind to flow
Still it seems I'm dumb enough
to put on a vain show
Will you follow me
to the places I want to go?

Wise enough
I look through windows clear
I'm over there by the juke box
wishing you were sitting near
Watching you play with your ear
Dumb me I close the curtains
darkening the atmosphere
thinking you might see me better
and come over here
I lack swag and courage
I'm paralyzed by my own fear

I'm wise enough
To see my own faults
And accept them for what they are
They seem smaller when viewed from afar
I can't drive away quick enough
in my pimped out get away car
I'm dumb enough
To be blinded by this prosperity
yet figuratively
I like the ambiguity
of not being able to see
my own incongruity
Maybe dumb is part of my personality
I'll probably never be the best version of me
after all I'm my own worst enemy

I try denying that money can change my heart
Still the cash flows from the art
Break it down by numbers tear it apart
Pop the balloon with a dart
Gas from my ego
smells worse than a fart

I'm wise enough to know
I've got a lot of learning to do
If I knew you you'd teach me
I'm sure it's true
I could become the me
of the who's who
Crystal clearly seeing you
I like your particular shade of blue
is there anything you can't do?
I'm dumb enough not to know
to much learning can turn me into a fool
I'm the thread to your needle
smooth like plastic
I've stretched so much
you might think I'm elastic
Unable to be held by a wooden spool
I hope you find my multicolours cool
stitch this heart to your fabric
for you I'd gladly play the fool
I can't swim but I'd jump in with both feet
to the deep end of your pool
You'd help me be wise enough
to avoid the traps and pitfalls of life
So if you are dumb and wise enough to be my wife
Stumble with me into paradise!

Another collaborative piece with my friend Freddie Robinson Jr.
Thank you Freddie you are inspirational. I am also glad my wife stumbled with me or perhaps I tripped her so that I could catch her. Either way it has been paradise ( at least for me).

What I would give
To see the world through your eyes
To picture the haze of freedom
Where there reigns injustice and chains
To capture the shadow of dignity
Where there thunders cries of hunger and pain
To carry the veil of hope
Where there lurks despair and death
To paint a watercolour rainbow
Where there is but sorrow and starvation
Teach me to find meaning
Where there dwells only desperation
Teach me to see with your eyes

Premium Member Have You Ever Tasted Human

Loud insistent dragons are pounding at my brick walls.
Bam. Bam. Bam. Bam. Bam. No walls now.
These giant creatures have escaped, uninhibited, free.
In a happy, wicked slow walk, they approach the town.

Heading toward a communal meadow of unsuspecting villagers.
Children running out to greet them, recognizing them immediately.
They carry slop buckets of left overs, to entice the dragons to stay.
“What dragons?” the adults lament. Not being able to see them now.

It is the annual spring and release day. Always on March fifth.
In honor of the Grand Plume Matriarch Grandma Dragon
Who one hundred years ago had the foresight to see what was what.
She realized that dragon slayers would continue if dragons kept consuming humans.

In the middle of the night, she approached one of the few adults
Left in the world, who still believed in dragons – My great grandma, Marguerite.
Marguerite was surrounded by faeries, dancing and singing at the time.
She stopped in mid-dance when she saw Matriarch Grandma Dragon staring.

“I was terrified,” Great Grandma Marguerite told me thirty years later.
“I had heard of dragons, but I had not seen them since I was a child. It was scary.”
These two wise women of different species, religions, and belief systems,
Discussed the possible merging of dragons and humans in a peace covenant.

“Not a big deal,” my best dragon friend Michelle said to me,
“Letting go of human tasting. Have you ever tasted human?”
I truthfully admitted that I had not, so she shared this tidbit…
“Flavor of squirrel, squid, and skunk,” she said. “Not tasty.”

We linked arms and went to school, where we had a great time.
Yes, humans are allowed to attend school now.
It is not only dragons who can get an education.
Progress by two wise and wonderful women – dragon and human.
