Winding Our Way Through Time

The rising sun marks break of day
Its zenith, we call noon.
Its setting brings the evening chill
And ushers in the moon.

The sundial charts its burning rays.
Its pathway plotted out
Predicts the hour of every day
Beyond a shadow of a doubt!

Precious time, there’s none to waste
And so we set the staff
Inventing ways to track its passage
Clocks and chronograph

The mainspring and the pendulum,
The tall Grandfather Clock
Becomes the heartbeat of the home
Tick Tock, Tick Tock, Tick Tock

The pocket watch with silver chain
Umbilical, life line
We spend our days; entire lives,
Winding our way through time

Time is time, it’s so precise
Ethereal and pure,
With a watch we always know the time
But when we’ve two, unsure!

Premium Member Winding Down From Worrying

       ~Introduction~
Sometimes our mind takes  us on a wrong turn,
And we find ourselves on Worry Boulevard.
Oh, whatever to do?

       " Winding Down"

Well, for starters, acknowledge your mind and thank it,
for sharing whatever it did with you.
It will keep you in it clutches, if you allow it to!!

Remember the deep breathing?
"Smell the fresh roses, and after that, blow out the candles."
Well, then do it, it's a peaceful meeting.

Soft music that leads your mind on poetic trails, that are magical,
is just so perfect for you.
Women, can ponder some very handsome males in their minds' view.

Remember....God loves you more than the lilies of the field, be
like them, no toil.
You make things worse with inner mental turmoil

Gratitude is your next tool. Get out your pen, and journal
what you are blessed with.
Anything from a  warm cup of tea  to that new dress, your loving
cat or dog~
Are breathing, living forms of creation with their loyal, velvet,
tenderness can blow away the fog.

Learn a new form of poetry and above all remember to laugh!
Don't get engrossed in a worry gaffe!

On days of worry, no news or negative movies.
Find comedy and above all~humor to soothe, thee!

A dreamy, floral bubble bath with a gentle, flickering lavender
candle.
Just thinking of that bath and beauty is more than I can handle.

Drink your cup of favorite chamomile tea~
Coffee may raise stress and your anxiety.

Positive physical contact with a family of friend.
A hug, an embrace to our hearts, peace sends!

A gentle walk in God's colorful autumn, yoga, or meditation.
Remember to think of others more on these days, that is my
heartfelt recommendation.

Winding Wind

Why does the wind create that howl
and with it such a sensation?
It's in your heart, your mind, your soul.
It seems to reach for your very cognition.
You sit, so still, in your room - just sulk.

The thinness of glass is so frightening;
it tries to fight the mighty howl
but cannot hold it back,
as that blow drives against your window
from the world outside, with no mercy, it seems.

Or does it prefer not to see you sulk so much?
Does it ask what's in your heart, your mind, your soul?
Perhaps this is its way of wanting you
to know its wish, its supplication.
Does a wind howl to make a plea?

Windy Winding Wind

Wicked wind I hate you so,
I’d rather sit in ice cold snow,
Your breath is cold and touch
So fraught, I think your soul from
Devil bought

A paragraph from weather’s
Tale, you’d think you were the
Holy Grail; speeding, pushing,
Blowing crush
None escapes your windy whoosh!

Cutty Sark or clothes on bush,
Strutting, cutting, butting breeze
Lifts old maids’ dress past their knees,

Blows the lash from pretty eyes,
Takes the thrush and clouds from
Skies; no escape from this cruel jape
Windy, weather, mistral‘s shape

Premium Member Winding Love

I say love is like a fountain
Bubbling from deep within
Flowing on a winding journey
That has no need to end

I say love has many heartaches
That strengthens every need
Makes a soul more understanding
To comfort those who bleed

I say true love reaches further
Than just one tiny smile
It just keeps on slowly growing
And goes the longest mile

Love comes in beautiful springtime
Or in the summer heat
It dies in the chill of winter
Unless love is replete

Premium Member The Winding Highway

The Winding Highway
It’s a long and winding highway
that’s leading one to Heaven’s door
But worth all the twists and the turns
afore reaching celestial shore.
Quote - Poets own
Spiritual health is one's wealth
Without God one's world falls apart
Those who deny Him become lost
And don't see the light for the dark.

What’s good for the spirit is when
One works hard to sustain wellness
To love with wondrous work of art
Eyes, voice and heart reveal it best.

There’s bound to be times when it’s tough
Whatever disasters may do
Put a smile on your face with grace
And walk with God’s yoke upon you.

Enjoy God's gifts along the way
What's meant for you will come to you
Whatever is to be will be
Life is a magnificent whoo.

There'll be a welcome in Heaven
When your life's walkathon is done
Waiting patiently there for you
Will be the Holy Three in One.

September's Winding Road

There is on a green hill, a winding road,
Where September golden rods are blooming,
Even the sandy path bears reflections
A line of fence posts, lavender shadows

Twining purple morning glory faces
Reaching, desiring the cool autumn sun,
Footprints follow, one little pair, no two
Questions of wonder suspending in air.

Gazing up that lovely road of new fall,
One's eyes strain to peer beyond the path's rise,
Where blue and gold mists meet the autumn sky,
With a new generation, a new school.

And an unremembered Meadow of Dreams
Illumines hidden caverns of the mind.

Premium Member Down Winding Road

As I ventured down the winding road
I saw a house with a lawn full of weeds
The door was rotting on this ghostly abode
 Upon neglect its structure feeds

The roof was tattered and in distress,
The porch seemed ready to collapse,
The sight of it did depress
Its garden lost to weeds and scraps

Curiosity got the better of me,
And I opened the old rusty gate
Through the rotting portal I walked to see
A staircase in a sorry state

Through a broken window I saw the backyard
Where ferns grew tall along a rickety fence,
A fire in the kitchen had left it charred
And left it damaged without pretence

On the floor, caked in dust, was what seemed to be a rosette
Its luster gone, and memory scarred
Then ghostly whispers made me fret
And I fled the ruins where ghosts now guard

Under a Winding Blacktop

Slow or fast
we think behind a slip stream,
a contrail of the gone;
of what went by a momentary window
            long ago.

Asleep under a blacktop,
street-cars roll over my me-mind,
the crunch of old bones
    crackles like thin ice.
I am recalling a time
            now set in resin.

Desiccated bugs bite through,
gnaw at half-painted pictures.
Lost paths
  for the somnambulant dead.
Elephants gather to revisit graveyards.

Alive in a memory,
but let’s not call this 'living,'
      double, treble dipping
      into the time-worn.
Such old imagining's will eventually
kill every analog clock
with their own internal hammers.

What am I writing now?
Yesterday and tomorrow sway
like old measuring scales.
Should I think like a Greek,
                            or a Jew,
arise and dance
shaking my head back and forth
                          as if awakening
            to every fleeting pause?

This is what I am writing
upon the underside
of a road...
        an odyssey of sorts
one taken by a horde of lemmings.
        A talking point
indicating how I got here
recalling this and that,
but then again
          nothing is now real forever.

Premium Member Winding Path

My solitary self was needing space
Fortunately know just the place
Walking briskly soon be there
Gulping breath of pure fresh air.

Winding path, know it well
Soon be in heaven away from hell
Hill is steep with twists and turns
Far away from worldly concerns.

Puffing, panting pinnacle reached
Now all worries can be unleashed
Under dome of azure blue sky
White clouds sail, I softly sigh.

Winding path a simple test
Knowledge eventually will manifest
Golden time with vast universe
Doubt swept away from things adverse.

The Clock Keeps Winding Down

The clock keeps winding down

Written By Dean Masciarelli

October 16, 2010 (10:01am)

The clock keeps winding down

Like it does for every one

And I’ve been wondering

If I’ve been running out of time

But the good Lord is the only one

That truly knows the hour and the day
when my life will come to a final end

I just hope and pray that
it
wont happen real soon

Because I still have a
mountain to climb
and a hell of a lot
of living that must be done

And hopefully if I am truly lucky
I can honestly live to be the ripe
old age of one hundred and one
