Mother Nature, the Beauty Queen

Lofty mountain paints the scene,
Trees and bushes fill the green.

Crispy voice of birds chirping,
Humming sound of bees churning.

Alluring oasis thirst quenching,
Reflecting rays of sunlight so soothing.

Choice of flowers wide-ranging,
View of blooming flowers bewildering.

Streams of river meandering,
Forming deltas so encompassing.

Smell of sweetness so filling,
Sense of freedom enlightening.

Sexy sirens and charming nymphs,
Carefree gypsies and quixotic imps,

Alas, but none can be compared to
Mother Nature, the Beauty Queen!

Premium Member Illusion of Separateness

Life's greatest heated human tragedy
the one we are likely taught not to see.
Our wide-ranging worlds are well connected,
as atoms wiggle we're all effected.
Separation is optic illusion
a fitting end to one's soul seclusion.

Gurus say I am you and you are me,
that's the way it's supposed to be.
If I am Abe, Alice, Aron, Abu;
are they really me, how can that be true?
One respects collective society,
pledges to individuality.

It's in us to foster global good will
hold high hopes for oneness not to stand still.
Compassion is the real eternal key,
the single most important reality.
In the rays of moonlight truth shines so clear
allays all our unstated oneness fear.

When face to face, touch hands to then embrace;
stand up, stand in, alone and take your place.
So don't be offput by any confusion;
you're not separate, it's an illusion.
Lots of wisdoms will surely come to pass
while we lay lulling the scent of sweetgrass.

A Nightcliff Evening

A Nightcliff Evening

The pastel light of evening fades to the indigo of night,
Trees brooding silhouettes above, save where the string
Of lights picks out the furrows of pale trunks and
Thrusting limbs.

“42; pizza” rings out in sing-song baritone, the flickering flame
Of the wood oven tincturing its owner’s crisp white singlet,
And lending his muscles a little more definition,
To the delight of some present.

The long table is strangely quiet tonight, with no loud
Voices or laughter losing itself amongst the trees;
Or the frantic chaos of young children testing
The limits of parental patience.

There is a sombre quality to the scene, and the
Last Supper comes to mind though there are more
Than thirteen, and tomorrow is both far away
And a Sabbath.

Over there, a cluster of young girls sit and lie with
A candle between, the backdrop of darkness giving
A natural frame to the scene, and the uplighting
Reminiscent of Joseph Wright…of Derby.

Here, there is casual conversation, wide ranging, mostly
Wry humour or surprising intimate revelation,
That smooths friendship and leads on to
Understanding, and acceptance.

A fine tempranillo from the Riverland surprises, and
Is counterpoint to a terrine from France, a rich layering
Of flavours across the palate, washed clean by wine,
Ready for more.

Too soon, the importuning of early morning starts truncates
The evening, and the fumbling ritual of clearing up begins,
Unaided by commonsense lights, a social Braille;
And we look forward to the next time.

Premium Member A Car For Every Perusasion

There's certainly a wide-ranging variety of different cars
From the Model T to the Tesla -- no longer wildly popular

People want choices to match their lifestyles and moods
Manufacturers want trustworthy cars that can 'deliver the goods'
Reliable rides -- solid, unspectacular engines under their hoods

Rich sports stars tend to go for muscle cars and speed
Jaguars, Porsches, Ferraris; Dodges, Pontiacs, and AMCs

Famous celebrities, of course, crave the ultimate in luxury
Rolls Royces, Mercedes, Lincoln Town Cars, and Bentleys

Nerds and computer geeks worship the ways of the Japanese
They drool over Hondas, Toyotas, Mazdas, even Mitsubishis

Which brings us to the environmentalists, willing to pay a bit more
For hybrids, electric cars, even ones that run on cooking oil and Indian lore

But I've saved the final two lines for a new car so incredibly smart
That without any driver, it appeals to cutting-edge intellectuals
                     ~ and fearless hearts

Ode To Ouster Order At Home of Imperiality

gale to bluster, sleet to bluster, worst whacked are hobos around huts cluster.

nowhere to doss, tempest to toss, yet another sucker punch sweeps across.

with big boot to field, with big stick to wield, arrogative hosts of imperial capital always have big deal to yield,

so august the majestic center, so wretched the lowborn hobos, ouster order seems to get it best addressed,

with wish we roil, for wish we toil, how come repayment of repellence proves us a foil to the soil sordidly steeled?

humanity they tread, hostility they breed, how bleak it is to plead for the creed they've professed!

empty as the firmament is, vast as the earth, no habitat for us o'er the horizon strides caste chasm.

much as we wail, much as public opinion vociferates, the sacrament highest held hails from their behest.

astray our kith and kin adrift our kismet, ashtray accommodates our enthusiasm, echoes with their gleeful spasm.

ouster order, peremptory, outrageous, sledgehammer; its wide-ranging aftermath ne'er to be redressed.

Premium Member The Elderly Man and His Speach

The elderly man we call leader
Would shout as if our ears couldn't hear,
Then whisper with the expectation
We would agree to adhere to his
Foreign invasion~
Ten million strong from every nation.

Who was that girl, he could barely recall,
But he finally did (mis)speak her name
Because it wasn't on the teleprompter,
Neither was the word "illegal"
and his mob soon let him know
the word he should use is "undocumented."

The cities are crying blue tears and repenting,
Their citizens are no longer pretending
That all is peace and joy and love;
Our children are kicked out of school
To make room for all the illegal immigrant poor,
After all don't we owe them the American dream?

I am, you know, adamantly* against illegal immigration. ~Hillary Clinton

We simply cannot allow people to pour into the United States undetected, undocumented, unchecked, and circumventing the line of people who are waiting patiently, diligently, and lawfully to become immigrants in this country. ~Barack Obama

The issues surrounding illegal immigration are wide-ranging and complex, but there is no question about the need to secure our borders. ~Roger Wicker

I have fought on the front lines to prevent illegal immigration. I know Donald Trump will stand with me and countless Americans to secure our border. ~Joe Arpaio

*adamantly(adverb): a way that suggests one will not be persuaded to change one's mind; firmly and resolutely.

Premium Member Covid-19 the Upside

The globe is in lockdown,
the borders are closed
the news is all gloom and despair,
Covid-19 is the new kid in town
causing panic and fear everywhere.
Our lives are all changing,
effects are wide ranging,
whole nations are put to the test,
and though we don't like it
these methods to fight it,
some things are changing for the best.
In future, through habit, we know everyone
will all have incredibly clean hands,
and as the whole nation goes self-isolation
you can avoid people that you can't stand.
The shelves may be empty,
our shopping restricted,
the choices a narrower range,
but Fresh fruit and veg are still plentiful,so
maybe our diets will change.
The Missus no longer complains about football
and too much of it on TV,
now I smile while her episode of 'Eastenders'
is put back by the BBC.
So stiff upper lip, folks, keep raising a smile,
all in this together we'll pull,
life is not risk-averse, whatever the curse
just face it with your glass half full.

Fire

Who knows who developed the fire initially?
But we know the significance of its discovery,
The fire that served countless purposes,
Was invented by someone who was naive of its uses.
He might have invented it without any intention,
But through his inquisitiveness, ended up with an invention
Or he might have taken the stones,
To shape them into amazing forms.
And resulted in the creation of a flicker,
That shortly turned into fire.
And subsequently he had taken it onward,
To reveal the pleasing secret that left him spellbound.
And found out the results,
That escorted to wide-ranging exploits.
Soon it became common throughout the generation,
And the one who invented it was left with no consideration.

Sombrero In Space

The word sombrero in Spanish was made
from Late Latin origin, meaning shade.
Predating Mexican type of headwear
that’s commonly presupposed, instead they’re

more generally hats designed with brim.
Therefore the galaxy’s wide-ranging rim,
through pareidolia’s visual drift
causing our human perception to shift,

gave it to stargazers sombrero guise
as seen in Virgo’s sidereal skies.
Hence nickname ‘Sombrero’ has taken hold
with globular clustered stars in its fold

which swarm quite abundantly ‘round the core.
Its technical tag is M One O Four
From Earth we perceive it almost edge-on,
a factor inducing some to hedge on

whether the galaxy, like Milky Way,
is spiral or has an elliptic splay
or might be a hybrid blending the two,
a question left hanging from earthly view.

It’s said to be fifty thousand light-years
across, roughly thirty million from spheres
where we dwell, with ten times as many groups
of star clusters globular as the troops

in Milky Way’s multitudinous realms—
such grandeur galactic indeed o’erwhelms—
which orbit in circular halo’s verge.
Aye myriad worlds for life to emerge!

Dust lanes birthing stars about it are wed,
ringed paths poetic for dreamers to tread.
A white dwarf companion perhaps may be
midst all the clusters of huge stellar spree.

If wonders abound in this ‘hat’ on high,
how many more lie beyond earthly eye?
While one must not lose sight of doings here,
someday human antics will disappear.

When miseries render our stance downcast
why not gaze above at the cosmos vast
whose infinite fathomlessness steadfast
shall troublesome worries ever outlast?

Image and info ~ Hubble mosaic of the majestic Sombrero Galaxy…

Image explanation ~ NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope has its eye on the Sombrero galaxy, Messier 104 (M104), which has a white, bulbous core encircled by the thick dust lanes comprising the spiral structure of the galaxy. As seen from Earth, the galaxy is tilted nearly edge-on. This galaxy was named the Sombrero because of its resemblance to the Mexican hat. It lies at the southern edge of the rich Virgo cluster of galaxies and is one of the most massive objects in that group, equivalent to 800 billion suns. The galaxy is 50,000 light-years across and is located 30 million light-years from Earth.

The Time Is Now

Jesus is calling come my people come for the Kingdom of God is at hand.
Arise out of your spiritual graves, look into me and make a stand.

There was a Super-natural move of God. When He parted the Red Sea giving Moses the self- assurance of power to stretch forth his rod.

These signs will be accompanied by those who have the faith to believe.
Somethings are only caught than taught then you can abundantly receive.

Miracles just don’t happen you have to expect. Be open, and flexible, don’t limit Him using your own intellect.

Run fast into the Presence of your Lord and Savior, trust in the Heavenly Father embrace the one you love.

Through the Holy Spirit He will have the readiness to supply provision that only comes from above.

We are like Paul prisoners of Jesus Christ. The "Perfect Sacrifice" has complete ownership there was an ultimate price.

First you must get ahold of the Kings of Kings and Lord of Lords, and love Him with a perfect heart and all you might.
The "Blessed One" will anoint your eyes with eye-salve that you may me. Laying before Him seeking His face stretched out that is the Supreme key.

Attention: An urgent call for action has gone out. There is a wide – ranging noise in the Spirit, the grounds are beginning to tremble, and shake, the heavens are getting excited, a greater pulling away to get alone with the Lord.

Groundwork, preparation, foundational truths, a greater dying out of the flesh
It's all for the God's Glory. This train is about to pull off "All Aboard."

Get ready for the signs and wonders and miracles. This loud noise is the
Holy Spirit it’s

              Sounds - (((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((
                                                 OF
                                                “Rival"

Behold this is a dawning of a new day. Surrender your all to the Lord allow Him to have His way.
A very important yet dynamic shift is about to occur great multitudes will be affected it’s about to take place.
Don't get ahead Him allow the Holy Spirit to secure your pace.

Set down your pride, all your rights, pre-concede thoughts humble self-put it all at the feet of Jesus and bow.
This super-natural move of God you do not want to miss so come.

War and Piece

People still talk about war and peace,
But time’s come to talk of war and piece,
To pieces that turns life,
To shambles, utter strife,
And still, would war mania ever cease?

Happenings |01.03.2022| war, peace

Poet’s note: We know, war victories are pyrrhic and the victor and the vanquished both suffer. Yet, that does not stop any war-mongering. What suicide is for an individual, to the armies at war is no less suicidal. This war between Russia and Ukraine that might pull in others would have wide ranging repercussions all over the world.

Premium Member A Timeless Doll Dl - First Place Contest Winner

Lost dolls, forgotten in the attic,
Neglected and left to gather dust,
Their once-loved beauty is losing its magic.
Their appeal is fading as fashions adjust.

But one day, they were rediscovered.
Their box opened with a gasp of surprise.
Among the dolls, one had been recovered.
Her timeless charm, with no compromise.

She was not like the others, you see.
Her beauty was not based on trends.
Her allure was not ephemeral or fleeting.
And her appeal would never depend.

Her porcelain skin was still flawless.
Her hair still shone like a golden sun.
Her eyes still sparkled with enchantment.
She was a treasure, second to none.

And so she was dusted and polished.
And displayed in a place of honor,
The timeless doll was cherished.
Her value is forever a wonder.

In a world that's ever-changing,
life, with such love wide-ranging.
