Was there ever a time she doubted my love?
As a child, did I let her know how much her acts of kindness meant?
No one will ever love me as she did.
Decades have passed, but my heart still yearns for her touch.
Ageless is the affection for the mother who lives in my heart.

*Written March 15, 2015, in honor of my mother who passed far too young in 1984.

The Unbroken Mare

In ghostly dreams the horse will come
And feed on my forbidden cereal
Meant for my recalcitrant healing
That filly came a-prancing stealing

O shrouded mare so misted white
Thou bleakest horse ,this blackest night
Untethered and untied
Noble creature -"NOT"- I cried

A pallid stare through tousled mane
Treads the core of my hidden pain
So obvious now for all to see
My fear complies to jellyfied fragility

Hope drifts lost in catatonic misery
As does my scream in muted agony
Nostrils flared in malarial trembling
Gasps aloud from injurious dreaming

Departing tail of comets flight
Leaves me such a prophetic sight

Unbroken Peace Prayer

God takes life's broken pieces and gives us unbroken peace
                                            - W. D. Gough

Lord, I come to You broken,
With tears and words unspoken,
You have seen me through troubles,
When You're with me, joy doubles,
In life's many ups and downs,
Through various smiles and frowns,
You've always given me hope,
Lord, I need more of that rope,
In weariness, my heart cries,
In loneliness, my soul sighs,
Grant me Your peace unbroken,
Your unfailing love token...

Lord, I come to You today,
Lead me in Your will, I pray,
Wipe my broken tears away,
You are my Rock, You're my stay,
My life's in shattered pieces,
You're near, so fear decreases,
Heal me, dear Lord, make me whole,
Patch my tattered mind and soul,
In gloominess, my heart cries,
In humbleness, my soul sighs,
Grant me Your peace unbroken,
Your unfailing love token...

'Sell out your country' is what they said,
As water kept dripping on his head.
Two days had passed since he went to bed.
'Sell out your country' is what they said.
Three days passed since he had been fed.
Denial of his Rights had not been read.
'Sell out your country' is what they said,
As water kept dripping on his head.

Dressed in mourning robes
lonely and heartbroken
she sits in semi-darkness
by the glowing embers
rocking herself to the
rhythmic unbroken sound
of torrential rain...
a therapeutic balm
gently easing the pain
healing her heart’s misery.

Premium Member Unbroken Rhapsody

Music blended with nature's dark, unbroken cadence and rhapsody.

Waves crashing vigorously, reverberating in my mind with the graceful notes of
the piano, the fragrance of wet foliage and the perfume of wildflowers mingling,
I perceive a view of inspiration for this poet's muse.

Twittering, chirping birds wrapped in the cadenza of a gentle flute drifting, a
bouquet delicate, and pleasing, entwined in the scent of the forest, my wandering
spirit comes closer for a sweet magical glimpse.

The whisper of the wind, a symphony tangled with the violin's quivering, throbbing
melody, such redolence, this penetrating overture for my soul, I lift my eyes to
God's painted sky, gazing beyond the clouds, floating in this unbroken rhapsody.

He came with murderous intent
To the Manchester Arena he went
His heart full of vitriol and hate
With a bomb to seal their fate

I wonder if he thought at all
About the kids that there would fall
I don't believe in his hate filled brain
He thought about the grief and pain

They came to laugh and dance and sing
To see their idol was their thing
When young you have no fear of death
No thought of taking your last breath

That mindless man took their lives
Left grieving parents, husbands, wives
He took their lives but not our hope
Because we have learned to cope

We aren't beaten we aren't cowed
We are unbroken we wont be bowed
He made us determined strengthened too
We wont give up we will pull through

May the spirit of Manchester live in us all
We will stand firm we will stand tall
So send your bombs we aren't afraid
We aren't beat down we aren't dismayed

We will not hear your futile threats
You will not leave us with regrets
So bring it on let the war begin
Its already lost you will not win

Now they've come to London town
On London Bridge they mowed them down
Seven more innocent lives they shed
Eight minutes later they too were dead

Lets not forget the Westminster one
Lets not forget what he has done
Though he inflicted grief and pain
He died for nothing he died in vain

Manchester, Paris, London too
We stand together to defy you
One day you'll realise its too late
You wont infect us with your hate

Comes a time of unbreaking
what's broken
maybe broken to the point
a thing can't be fixed
ever
forever
severed.

To be sure prayers can find a home
but not when a divine plan's mark
is missed
yet must insist
with clenched fist
I resist.

A simple woodcarver, be
like Mister Geppetto
fend off a life of despair
perhaps with a little help from
a Fairy with Turquoise Hair.

For a creator
nothing causes elation
like its finest creation
seeking salvation.

All may end in ruin
in stringed freedom's destroy
it's never easy
bein' a wooden boy.

Life's call is abrupt
so keep your dukes up.

Outlined by moonlight, mysterious Orb spider,
spinning your geometric lines, un-changed,
as from the dawn of time. Around us,
as life quickens-you -un-hurried-weave your web
as–slowly knitting time.

Second by second, secretly in spaces, you hang
your timeless filaments.
In daylight nature wraps you in a leaf- this ritual-
unchanging as the tide

Unaware by day we sweep this gossamer away
When patiently re-strung-like space and time re-spun
we watch you, and for a moment time stands still.

Broken and Unbroken

I’m broken, shattered to pieces.
No one sees me.
No one hears me.
Trapped and lonely
In this world
Beginning to wonder if anyone
Actually cares.
Screaming as loud as the seas will roar.
Finding my place through that open door.
Whispering to him
The secrets I have
Are secrets no more.
Silently sitting in a back corner,
Knowing my voice is nothing to honor.
All at once
I’m where I should be.
My pieces aren’t shattered,
And I’m not broken anymore.

Unbroken Bonds

Blessed babe, so pale and still,
It breaks my heart you couldn't stay.
The same heart that you slept beneath,
Becoming part of as you lay.

Warm and safe, by love surrounded,
My womb the only world you knew.
Untouched by harsh reality,
In innocence there you dreamt and grew.

And what of lessons learned from you?
In the short time that we had, it seems,
Of joy and sadness, love and loss,
You taught me of a mother's dreams.

Beloved child, we are not parted.
Our bonds, forged in the blood we share,
Whatever comes, will hold unbroken.
No force exists they cannot bear.

If in my arms I cannot hold you,
Within my heart, held you will be.
Treasured there 'til my last breath,
My life's most precious memory.

It matters not, the depth of darkness.
It's banished by the smallest light.
When I look into the night's clear heavens,
I find your star there, shining bright.

I like-
when music and nature b l e n d
          in an unbroken rhapsody
with waves c r a s h i n g in my mind
and graceful notes of a piano drifting
in the LUSH forest
      oh the t w i t t e r i n g
c h i r p i n g of birds mingling with
            a gentle flute . . .
the gentle whisper of the wind
                    entangled
with violins that q u i v e r
  and I am floating
in the throbbing overture of
               MUSIC and n a t u r e

Premium Member Unbroken Friendship

I look for you between sleeping and waking,
The place where dreams linger, half-remembered
In the intrusive light of dawn’s making,
Where consciousness persists unhindered.

I reach for you as the moon’s shadows retreat
Eclipsed by the brightness of the rising sun.
The night fades to a reality less sweet,
The dream diffused in daybreak too soon begun.

Memories hidden by the years shine in dreams
More real than an echo, where I can be
In peaceful harmony with you. So it seems
That as you light my dreams, you live on through me.

Unbroken Chains

unbroken chains hold my steer
over bruised knees bled dry
off my second hand adventure
throughout scarred elbows
unbroken chains hold my steer
