Notes About The Poem

Rain Falls Unbroken

Dressed in mourning robes
lonely and heartbroken
she sits in semi-darkness
by the glowing embers
rocking herself to the
rhythmic unbroken sound
of torrential rain...
a therapeutic balm
gently easing the pain
healing her heart’s misery.

Paul, such depths of sadness expressed in your melancholy imagery but also hope expressed for her spirit's healing in the freeing, cleansing, soothing baptism of the 'therapeutic' rain. I love the rain as I find it soothing as well. A beautiful write my friend, congrats on your fine placement. Warmest wishes ~Susan

Thank you, Susan; your insightful remarks are an apt follow-up to this poem. I love the sound of rain and I have spent much time watching it falling outside the window. I do believe in its therapeutic powers! ~ Warm regards // paul

Paul, I can strongly identify with this beautiful piece, as after a very stressful day, it's so much easier for me to relax and fall asleep if I listen to the sound of thunder storms (whether natural or artificial) in the background. Congratulations on your well-deserved win, my friend! BRAVO! Pandita

Paul your write was my personal favorite from the winners list. Your words not only create a sad soul trying to heal through their heartfelt loss, but you add the dark surroundings. For some rain causes depression, and here it creates an escape of venting the pain by rocking, letting out a physical emotion of coping and possibly healing and closer. Loved how you wrote this...
