Best Twittering Poems
Cool wind whispers on the breeze
Shimmering sunshine warms the autumn leaves
Dragonflies dance over a sparkling lake
Slithering silently is a sleepy snake
Beauty surrounds, just open your eyes
Embrace our world, its simply paradise
Blackbirds sing a sweet song
Tunefully twittering all day long
Farmers plough the patchwork fields
The seasons provide; nature yields
Our bountiful earth God reveals
Nature plays its hand
Rain rejuvenates our land
Oceans blue surround us
Flowing freely without fuss
Spring and summer
Autumn and winter
They always appear
Creating our year
Our beautiful
Simply wonderful
World

I go into the woods to find my inner peace,
since a little girl this is my own special place;
my emotions held- in the woods I can release,
each tree and each flower my spirit does embrace.
Since a little girl this is my own special place,
as I walk along I let my mind just wander;
each tree and each flower my spirit does embrace,
yes, I meander for long hours and ponder.
As I walk along I let my mind just wander,
I love each bird twittering- each creature within;
yes, I . . . meander for long hours and ponder,
and each sweet thing growing wild and free makes me grin.
I love the birds twittering- each creature within,
in winter there is a tranquility to find;
and each sweet thing growing wild and free makes me grin,
oh, love when the trees with snow and ice are entwined.
In winter there is a tranquility to find,
my emotions held- in the woods I can release;
oh, love when the trees with snow and ice are entwined,
I go into the woods to find my inner peace.

Poem Of The Day - January 9, 2019
death is near-
a fading out tomorrow will never be-
gone away an empty shell will dwell
birds and butterflies come fluttering
on gossamer silky wings
wings soft as a spider web
and the curtains stir in the open window
death
comes
like a bird of prey
drifting silently
and hummingbirds hover in heavenly harmony
her
hair
streaming down her shoulders
the clock of time stops the end has come
deep blue is the sky beyond this realm
birds and butterflies come fluttering
on gossamer silky wings
and hummingbirds hover in heavenly harmony
blue birds are twittering in the trees
she breathes
a long breath
pauses
and then
the moment of death a heaviness descends
death comes
like a bird of prey
drifting silently
she hangs
her head like a dead flower the mind dies
a peacefulness a light that fills the room her spirit leaving
and on the bedside
a beautiful bouquet of red roses dulcet full of scent
oh her life was fleeting
infused with happiness beauty laughter
the dream has ended the final curtain has dropped
farewell my beauty I kiss her lips her still warm hand
outside a gentle rain has begun
falling on the weeping willow tree
my weeping tears
dropping soaking her blanket

I am proud of this poem because I wrote right after the death of my friend,
she died of cancer and I was with her at the end witnessing it through the eyes
of a poet. It is my most viewed poem and I was able to capture the style
of E.E. Cummings perfectly in my opinion.

Aimlessly I meander in expansive barren-landscape
Whipped by the assault of rustling windy gales
Embossing sandy designs resembling ocean waves
Simulating pools of water in mirage of seascapes.
Plateaus upon reddish hills reveal cracked earth
Where decaying mangled-trees in rising heat groan
As cobalt-blue sky yields to darkened dye of dusk
And blistering winds blur vision whirling sandy dust.
From the apex of ordinary I intently walked off
Letting thirst of quest confound my whereabouts;
Lost and hungry now, signs of life I strive for
Hearing the chirps of crickets and croaks of frogs.
Exhausted I fall besides flowering cactus plants
Hosting frightened thoughts of dehydrated pleas
Awakening to twittering sounds amid birdsongs
Rising in breeze from distant oasis of Joshua trees.
As the daybreak on hazy skies paints golden sunrise
Trekking for miles and miles audacity reaches hope
Dispensing staggering words incapable to explain
Dysfunction now longing for embrace of mundane.

NOTE: Joshua trees are found in Mojave desert in California.
This old oak-tree smiling through my balcony
Sways and swings cheerily, a happy emissary,
Budding new vigor upon tiny greenish leaves
Adorning exuberance of idyllic new morning,
Quivering golden-beams on dawning of spring.
When the sun rises, blushing mauve feelings,
Its gentle oscillations fetch tender sensibilities
Inviting sparrows to grace the stage of robins
In spontaneous outburst of ceremonial music--
Chirping, twittering, singing for the hatchlings.
As summer of my mind churns wistful stories,
Its white blossoms waltz tender warm breeze
And leaves flutter merrily, twirling to comfort me
When thoughts bygone nudge parched vagaries
Engrossed in realm of burned-out memories.
When autumn turns green into fiery-red leaves
As ruby sundown glitters on amethyst evening
And gusty winds rustle-in endlessly, ferociously,
Whirling flying colors, floating crimson revelries;
A few remnants cling-on, loath to forsake me.
Yet, brazenly I gaze away, ignoring its appeal
When harsh winter shudders essence of its being,
Quivering, shivering bare-skinned branches;
Staying beguiled instead on top of frozen hills
Where sunset articulates ochre-tinged themes.

The trees have put on their emerald gowns,
Oh, the lush dark green, the fresh lime and sage;
And all the twittering, chirping song sounds,
Of birds, hidden in a tree of old age.
I put down my shopping bags and repose,
Lovely, in the shade of a drooping branch;
I take off my shoes and wiggle my toes,
Dandelions float like an avalanche.
The fresh perfume of lilac is drifting,
It is heaven to linger in this place;
The tranquility is so uplifting,
It is just nice to slow down the pace.
I could stay here forever with this tree,
But, sadly my life is calling for me.

Outside my window lives a chickadee,
he loves snowy green pine,
and has a family of about twenty-three;
he loves the snow and falling snowflakes divine,
and each morning the whole family sings for me.
Sometimes they scatter on clamous whirling wings,
off to a park nearby,
my heart is sad for their songs are like violins;
then, the beat of their wild swirling wings multiply,
they have brought home many, many friends I sigh.
On warmer days I bring them some seeds,
I put the seeds on my hand,
and am always in awe with their fluttering speeds;
I love each created by God delicate painted band
helping the birds helps me to grow and transcend.
They huddle together when it is very cold,
at times they lift a foot,
I think God not only gave them beauty but a soul;
each morning I must go to my window to have a look
I find them twittering, and tweeting in a clamor bruit.
A giant snowball in springtime
From twenty yards out the sound and smell
Closer now; breathing her numbing scent
Listening to the drowsy hum
of greedy and jealous bees
forced to share her bounty
with Tiger and Zebra Swallowtails
School will be out soon...
Memorizing every branch within reach
Her limbs are just low enough
for a boy to scramble up quickly
fleeing imaginary monsters
still lurking and prowling below
Taking ignorant and blissful advantage
of this daughter of the wild; his protector
His big sister to run to...
Shiny and slippery black bark
that oozes burgundy sap
which dries in animal shapes
Summer twilight is coming
Bats twittering overhead
chasing nasty mosquitoes
A noise echoing from far off
A door slamming maybe...
Tucked safely away in his favorite pew
(Naughty boy, eating during church!)
sampling her forbidden fruit
sweet and sour...half is seed
Thieving Blue Jays get the most
Screaming and scolding arrogantly
yet flying away unpunished
Grannny will make jelly...
Oh everlasting Father, creator of all things
He knows that heaven is far beyond the grasp
of a feeble and fumbling mortal mind
But when You decide to send Your beloved Son
back to rule the earth for one thousand years
If he is judged worthy to be in that count
May one humble servant say if it's like this
that would be just fine...
I came across an old cemetery today while exploring,
Full of broken, toppled headstones and tangled weeds;
There was a deep hush, a whisper and a sigh, I felt tears,
My tears were falling for long dead souls forgotten.
A tree's roots are entwined around an old, tilted stone,
In loving memory of my husband George, born Feb, 1882;
Oh, George you were loved very much once upon a time,
God took him, but he will not be forgotten, engraved.
And I am of the age of Aquarius too, just like you,
I love violets and everything purple, and I am so mellow;
Oh, George were you a deep thinker, sensitive, creative,
I get hurt easily and I always want to help people.
Be at peace George in your decay and ravaged grave,
Listen to the twittering of birds this bright sunny day;
Promise, promise, I will be back to lay some purple violets,
Forever now, dear soul, you will dwell in my heart.
Now, be still George, I heard your whisper . . .

Oh, goodbye sweet Summer, I will miss you,
Fall, I will embrace your stained-glass colors;
Invigorating crisp air and skies blue,
Leaves that tumble, spin- beautiful wonders.
The emerald trees lay down Summer gowns,
Now they swirl in bright gold, orange and red;
Delightful the twittering of bird sounds,
I love Fall- sorry Summer you are dead.
I snuggle in a sweater and mittens,
Hug my coat closer and pull down my hat;
On a park bench poems I have written,
For hours, hours contemplating- I have sat.
Fall leaves in my diary I will press,
Oh, spirit winds of Fall- my lips caress.

"Amid the jagged shadows of mossy leafless boughs;”
Samuel Taylor Coleridge
,
I stand amidst the stillness of the graveyard and browse
My unbearable anguish like drooping flowers surge,
Amid the jagged shadows of mossy leafless boughs,
While hungry birds fly round twittering a plaintive dirge.
The old oak tree now denuded from all its green leaves
Time pass, forlorn eerie mist descends hiding the grave
Then sparkling white snow flutter down, thus my heart bereaves,
Bringing on hopelessness that dear life can never save.
No flowers by request she always maintained and said.
I could not bear to see others hide her from my view,
I disobeyed her and covered her with roses red.
Memories flooded my mind with thoughts that I pursue.
In the pain stillness of my heart, I know death does part
But like the nude oak tree, no one can refill my heart.
Often, I open the cemetery gate to visit mother,
"I took the bus mother, the scenery was lovely;
I brought you a red rose from my own garden,
and now I stand weeping."
"Do not be sad daughter,
my time was finished;
you know I suffered,
now, I know peace."
(The birds are twittering.)
"oh but I miss you so much mother,
your voice, your touch, your love;"
"We had a wonderful life you and me daughter,
talking over tea, gardening, going for country drives."
"Oh, yes mother, I remember all that and so much more!"
(The leaves are whispering.)
"It is time daughter to let go,
do not dwell with the dead;"
"Mother, I wish that I could break this chain of grief,
so many lay with you beneath the cold earth."
" And we are all at peace, beyond all pain we dwell,"
(weeping) "I must go mother, I will back soon, promise."
(A red rose left, disappears.)

Oh, with great delight, from
out of the shadowy night, I hear
a loud, powerful melody drifting
such a mournful song
with a chant soul-stirring
a songster with whistles that crescendo
trills, chirping, twittering and gurgles, concerto lovely
that sends my own soul on a journy into the depths of my mind, for
beautiful memories
and faraway dreams yet to come . . .

A songbird sings of morning glory,
twittering homage to Dawn's first light.
And ebony shadows fade to shade,
as they lose the protection of Night.
The sun rises from a scarlet shroud,
draping itself in a golden hue.
And climbing above Earth's eastern rim,
Sol paints the sky a robin egg blue.
Blood tints the clouds cotton candy pink,
as the heart of Night is pierced by Dawn.
And color is soon fully restored,
while dew sprinkles glitter on the lawn.
Butterflies and bumblebees awaken,
as a new day slowly fills with sound.
And Hope renews with every sunrise,
it's not lost; it's waiting to be found.
on my-
diaphanous gossamer filmy cloud-
sumptuous I float woebegone
flowers far and below
and bluebirds come
fluttering in the azure sky
twittering and its
beautiful
gossamer filmy cloud-sumptuous
the gobbledygooks with their nonsense
far and below
and bluebirds come drifting
from the garden and forest they fly
to
my diaphanous
gossamer
filmy
cloud-sumptuous
the dullards with their yada yada
far
and
below
come with their hokum nattering
and I
yell hey you
get off my cloud-
sumptuous you you
nincompoops
bluebirds
twittering and twittering
beautiful
assemblage of fluttering
whispering hissing
with meaningless words
you keep off my diaphanous
gossamer filmy cloud
oh gentle breeze
take this dreamer and flower picker
of buttercups violets
dandelions
I see them swaying far and below
in the meadows lovely
and I recall the little girl me
who picked them
for mothers kitchen ledge
oh let me drift and see far and below
on my
diaphanous gossamer cloud-
sumptuous
