"Amid the jagged shadows of mossy leafless boughs;” Samuel Taylor Coleridge , I stand amidst the stillness of the graveyard and browse My unbearable anguish like drooping flowers surge, Amid the jagged shadows of mossy leafless boughs, While hungry birds fly round twittering a plaintive dirge. The old oak tree now denuded from all its green leaves Time pass, forlorn eerie mist descends hiding the grave Then sparkling white snow flutter down, thus my heart bereaves, Bringing on hopelessness that dear life can never save. No flowers by request she always maintained and said. I could not bear to see others hide her from my view, I disobeyed her and covered her with roses red. Memories flooded my mind with thoughts that I pursue. In the pain stillness of my heart, I know death does part But like the nude oak tree, no one can refill my heart.

So many of us walk about with an irreplaceable void, like a hole in our soul. Quiet desperation which seldom reveals itself to others passing by. Your beautiful heart-rending poem has touched me. Robert

This is so emotional, Victor, a beautiful poem, your wife will be proud of, waiting in heaven, where there is always someone to meets us when we depart. Going to my favourites, need to read this often.

Everything changes, even God can’t stop the wheel in the sky. We can’t cling on, not even to a husband or wife, just cry, and keep our memories close by. Victor I was compelled by your grieving sonnet.

Stunning…just as death and it’s grieving are…for a very long time..land even after that will keep its embers burning enough to rise with memories nearly fresh again of my own deep losses as I read your heart ‘s elegant voice expressing the edge of the ineffable. I could clearly see you. Hugs, Victor.

One of your best poems according to me Victor, I will fav this one. It says so much and it shows your skillful pen more brilliantly then sun ever could. She is smiling from heaven, and enjoying the roses, loved it, xo

Quote by Coleridge is beautiful! I understand this: Then sparkling white snow flutter down, thus my heart bereaves, Bringing on hopelessness that dear life can never save. For death is quite permanent. To disobey and cover in roses…it is the living that grieves. God bless you, dear one!

Victor, The visual you create in your writing is stunning, and the emotions they evoke are compelling and poignant. Although this must have been a very distressing experience, I hope you may find some measure of mental tranquility.

So touching and tearing the heart! The old oak tree denuded of green leaves is a striking image. I am sure this poem is stimulated by memories of your dear one. Please feel comforted, dear Victor that she will wait for you at the rainbow bridge....
