The trees have put on their emerald gowns,
Oh, the lush dark green, the fresh lime and sage;
And all the twittering, chirping song sounds,
Of birds, hidden in a tree of old age.
I put down my shopping bags and repose,
Lovely, in the shade of a drooping branch;
I take off my shoes and wiggle my toes,
Dandelions float like an avalanche.
The fresh perfume of lilac is drifting,
It is heaven to linger in this place;
The tranquility is so uplifting,
It is just nice to slow down the pace.
I could stay here forever with this tree,
But, sadly my life is calling for me.
