Best Turtle Poems
I am turtle
and I roam.
From town to town,
carry my home,
upon my back
and that’s a fact.
A more patient creature
you’ll not see;
my best feature,
is to patient, be.
I take my time
and always arrive.
An world observer,
with great fervor;
I’ll always arrive
when disaster strikes;
with my house on my back
and emergency packs.
Your reptilian friend
until the end.
On land and sea,
I’ll always be.
For Turtle am I
and I always arrive.
It must be springtime
for she lumbers by her nest
below the fig tree.
Hatchlings soon appear
to scamper into the sea.
She cries out to, "Watch
for eagles above!"
then turns away; her voice now
in praise of new life.

The giant sea turtle saved the day by being the ride for many.
He rescued a pelican, a cat, a penguin and a dog named Penny.
Their ship went down, and they were at the mercy of the waves.
If not for turtle, they would all be in watery graves.
Turtle
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder,
Some people see the turtle as a beautiful creature.
The turtle, a survivor, is one of the oldest know creature
that has been around for a million years.
They come in many sizes and colors, but they are all the same a turtle.
It might be slow but it doesn’t rush into things and make mistakes.
It has a long longevity and enjoys life for many years.
Their own survival is built into them.
They carry their home with him so they are protected at all times.
They play peek a boo from out of his window when he doesn’t want to be seen
The shell is developed from their ribs and acts as a shield like Adam & Eve.
In some, temperature determines if the egg will break into a male or female.
That would be nice if we could manage the same.
Sea turtles have special glands which help remove salt from the water they drink.
Some are rare and endangered.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder,
that is why some people even wear them as tattoos

Sunlight broke the shades began to fade
the crimson pinks and yellows showed the way
as daylight showed the wayward path to go
Mark the purple turtle headed home
Across the fields of clover did he roam
beside the banks of daffodills in bloom
He crossed the mighty river
ran down the muddy banks
but then from out of nowhere
a hawke came down to prey
Mark was always quick with wit
he knew that he was beaten
The hawke was much to fast
he knew he would be eaten
He had to think but fast
Mr hawke I know I'm beaten
Please grant me my request
please sing this song I've written
before you start your feast
The hawke thought yes he's beaten
I'll grant him his request
he sang the song twas written
with heart felt singing breast
but then the noise he's making
brought other forest beasts
and Mark the purple turtle
escaped in this melee
Next time when you are beaten
Remember Mark my friend
and use your brains for thinking
they are your biggest friend
I love to slurp up turtle soup
It always makes me want to whoop
Soft-shelled turtle or red snapper
Cut up and stripped of their protective wrapper
Like a thick gravy with turtley parts,
Little beady eyes and turtley hearts;
Chopped up into turtle stew,
Come on people try something new.

Horace the tortoise was ready to dine
He ordered his food, while the waiter poured wine
They bought the first course, (a huge bowl of soup)
But, the bowl had a rabbit who was swimming in loops!!
"Oh waiter! Come quickly!"..."There's a hare in my soup!!"
And soon other patrons, had circled in groups
Their eyes were astonished, as that hare took a swim
splashing the broth, and wearing a grin
"This is disgusting"!! "Oh my! A disgrace!!"
"It's that same rascal rabbit...from yesterday's race!!"
He is out for revenge! Now he's slurping my food
"He's that same trouble maker....who is up to no good!
"Help! Call the management! Please call the cops!"
"He's doing a backstroke while splashing a lot,...
Can't you see how he's slopped all my soup from the pot?"
Tired of swimming, we watched how he hopped right
out of the soup bowl without mopping up
He jumped from the table, and down to the floor
grabbing the salad, and hopped out the door!
Leaving a puddle, without looking back,
while leaving the tortoise just holding the check!
The most beautiful morning stretches before my eyes
beneath a parapet of pink gloaming, one promised breath
All Remains of yesterday swallowed by a burst of fresh air
both window and I are privy to a turtle dove cooing on my ledge
"This is not my habitat" she seems to coo sweetly
I answer her in honesty " it isn't mine either" sweet thing
The coffee smells good and my dippy egg is semi-soft
I sense a new beginning and I am not afraid;
Tomorrow's hopes are perched safely on my shoulder
and somehow, I am not afraid of growing older
Heaven is not a pipe dream mirage from where I stand
God is having a giggle, at the turtle dove and I.

Takes his time in sunshine,
Tentatively stepping.
Tranquil summer follows,
Trailed by its vivid blooms.
Too sweet fragrance abounds!
True value takes awhile,
Typical of rainbows.

A turtle walking through the grass
Making each step with measured gait,
Allowing time and doubt to pass,
And taking time to pause and wait.
Making each step with measured gait,
A man takes time to reminisce.
And taking time to pause and wait
He might find something he would miss.
A man takes time to reminisce.
Allowing time and doubt to pass,
He might find something he would miss:
A turtle, walking through the grass!

Fearless Excavation!
Dirt flies into the air.
Turtle Devastation,
As he digs a muddy lair.
Mindful Contemplation.
Winter weather is quite near.
Springtime Fascination
Is when turtle reappears.
The sea unleashes its children green
seeking a sandy shielded defense and
swimming wings for legs, scraping
their way from seaweed waters at low
tide the sea awakens...
Those crusted, frothy shells demand
their way toward the grasses as destiny
calls. Barely an eye to see, eroded like a
silver spoon, they plummet forward
jerky as a scared dog, tumbling at each
step... heavy trucks bumping over a
rocky road. As the gods would have
it they succeed to lay their eggs
on shore.
Myrtle the Turtle
There once was a turtle named Myrtle.
She could speed through a maze and climb a hurdle.
While she was small, she was a friend to all.
And remained safe from a kitchen overhaul.
Years passed as she raced for many children.
Through mazes designed in childlike fashion.
Lined up building blocks, her corridor defined.
Faster than all the others, her speediness shined.
She heard cheering children as she plodded fast.
Quicker than lightening our childhood flew past.
Playing on the floor so much laughter roaring.
A turtle named Myrtle beget years of adoring.
But then the day came when she was big and fat.
Myrtle somehow disappeared; imagine that!
Fear and distraught brought a terrible rouse.
Frantically we searched running house to house.
Never discovered though we searched with quickstep.
Three children sat crying on their front porch step.
We thought she had been taken to become turtle soup!
It was a devastating day for the turtle-loving group.
Surprisingly, later, in a nearby pond
Where a neighborhood boy with our playmate did abscond.
We saw Myrtle, our turtle, and her baby turtles, too.
She had escaped turtle soup and made freedom's debut.

The scorpion and the turtle? Have you heard this story?
They are mortal enemies in natures scheme of things it can be gory’
Anyway this is a message about different creature’s nature.
So they’ll see this story and maybe mature.
This turtle is in the water as the scorpion looks and approaches.
The turtle thinking he’s safe you see scorpions can’t swim, so he’s comfortable.
“Hey mister turtle I need a ride across the river’ what do you say?”
Answering, “Are you kidding me? No how, no way.”
The scorpion reasoning with him says, “I can’t even swim and I don’t want to drown.”
As he’s talking the turtle thinks and stares with a frown.
Replying he says, “You’re my natural enemy you’ll surely poison immensely.”
The scorpion exclaimed, “To drown in the river? Are you kidding me?”
Well the turtle being good hearted started reasoning and thinking.
He could make this enemy a friend; he surely doesn’t want to die with both sinking.
Skeptically willing to take a chance with good judgment let’s the scorpion mount on his shell.
He thinks in faith and all will be well.
Half way across sure enough he feels the scorpion’s sting.
A pain shoots through the shell to his body and his ears ring.
“Now you’ve done it you rascal you we will now surely die’”
The turtle couldn’t believe it, feeling the poison, he shouted “Why?”
“To tell you the truth I couldn’t help it, it’s my true nature.” Said the scorpion.
The turtle realized it to late he’s to die, what a foolish decision.
The ones that some of us make in this world does matter with Our Father.
The turtle and the scorpions were enemies, so it is with man it is what matters.
The moral here is simple you decide important things in your life.
Either trust carnal man and his evil ways, or trust the Father or save yourself the strife.
Sometimes things that are looking ok might be the light of the evil one.
If you have faith follow the Lord’s lead you’ll always hear His voice, and listen closely and through the Holy Spirit you’ll find His loving Son.
wonderful slick shell,
Brown and golden, the color of a shell.
That perfect shaped shell.
The shell of my turtle i know too well.
You are the greenest.
The most bravest.
And fastest (i think)
And maybe the smartest too.
You slick and slide,
And glide on by,
The water is what you love.
And you swim in the water, like a dove in the sky.
