a sailing tailwind
through cerulean streams
and creamsicle colored beams—
are wings reflective
of the turquoise truth
and white purity
of Autumn’s ether

he aviates
a clear troposphere
riding an unbridled
capricious and combative
boreas
on the cusp
of a new season

with a plumage infusion
of shifting Cape Cod skies
the blue jay mixes hues
with the Northern azure
that fades to shades
of turmoil
to the South and East—
becoming lost
in its milky breadth
its lilting light
its dimming depths
where the edge of rustic rural
meets the sandy ridge of conifers—crooked
twisted and back-bent
from gales
of salt-sprayed sorcery

Canadian bluster-gusts
leading the charge
of a cold sapphire crest
is bedeviled
offshore
by the raw
tongue-lashing spin
of a brooding onshore flow
twirling
a brewing brawl
whirling
in slate pearlescent space
s w i r l i n g
with the dusky feistiness
of stormy petrels…
mobs of darkening fog
growing fatter
on summer’s fainty surrender—
leftover tints of tender cornflower
and hints of dainty dove

there’s a sparkle
in the eye of the storm…
his mischievous black gaze
mirrors
the harsh harbinger
of commotion
clash and change—
his piercing “jay-jay” jabs
the maddening mayhem
of menacing air
with an emerald-needled sharpness
of wind-weary pitch pines
anchoring
the beige of coastal dunes
where his refractive blues
take cover
in colorful contrast

ahead
of the bruising
October nor’easter

In moments of twilight civility
an exchange of gifts -
darkness for light..

RISING

from beyond the softening silhouette edge
you brighten like a blushing damsel
hazy haloed
unabashed in the pleasure of ripening

daydreamer
...a vivid blur of lemon drop...
veiled by a wispy fanfare of mares’ tails
windswept forth in pinkened pageantry
heralding the maturing marmalade horizon -
arousing a drowsing periwinkle sky

your prosperous glow casts a molten net of gold
slanting low across the ebb and flow
igniting the imagination
- agleam with peachy dreams -
of just-waking waters
while catching fire-tipped riffles;
rubies gathered ride the tide to the coastline
glamorizing the washed still-sleepy seaward sand

saturated in the rose-colored nectar
of your generous nature ~

*Mare’s tail: a long narrow cirrus cloud whose flowing appearance somewhat resembles a horse’s tail, often indicating high winds in the upper troposphere.*

vivacious roses pose

in air

oxygen free from the stem

arising like balloons

resurrection of rosies

blushing brides at peak

before their spoiling

before their mistreat

their passionate gowns sweet

wormy stems
await greening apples
Eden’s eschew

the ladies wave bye-bye

preferring the troposphere

fear of flying

ain’t there

angels, palms up,

invite their climb

up golden stairs

heaven is a lighthouse

waves crash on dry and crusty land

petals fall like rain

dowry to the grooms

wives look nothing like the brides

kites tied to home soil

desperate for heaven

a few grooms

smooth

the bed

water the roots

the rose thrives

The All Power Is Greater

THE ALL POWER IS GREATER!

The Big Bang designed the stratosphere and troposphere.
Below both majestic presence, Earth is the topography.
Today, all God’s creature roams freely.
Human being munificence is magnanimousness.

Now sits a child fulfilled.
She has her ink pen.
She aspires to be a writer – a great poet someday.
She is real to a righteous path.
Her themes and topics display a certain initiative.
God’s kind of poetry she leitmotifs vigorously and the melodies manifested.

A theological epitome inner cores and personification of the spirit went aglow.
Her radiance was beautiful.
Her voice recited the glory of the omnipotent.

God had sent the gift of psalm and she embraced him with open arms.
Baptism converted her soul to be a modern-day Apostle of the Lord God.

Prophecy she formed.
Wisdom and knowledge was born.
Her innateness was so strong that she was a natural.
Her libretti brought smiles.
When a release was necessitated from emotional dismay, her librettos bring
hope and puts God’s speed in place.

The Lord God sent the gift of psalm.
In a whisper, is the strength of voice.
The Lord God provides the power.

The people exclaim, “This is God’s kind of poetry.”
Eloisa proclaims, “This is praise and worship of the omnipotent."

Foreboding of a tempestuous storm,
it blackens as it draws near,
a cumulonimbus in towering form,
extending to the troposphere,

So cast off mooring and slacken the line,
break free while there's still time,
'cause I'll pull you under if you don't let go,

Save yourself and abandon ship,
I'll take on water and sink too quick,
in gales of winds the swells arise,
these waves will break and so will I,

Roars of thunder and screeching wind,
sheets of lightning and pelting rains,
walls of waves will batter within,
until our stability wanes,

So cast off mooring and slacken the line,
untether your heart from mine,
'cause I'll drown us both if you don't let go,

Save yourself and abandon ship,
I'm taking on water and sinking quick,
in gales of winds the swells arise,
these waves are breaking and so am I

Premium Member A Storm Is Brewing

A storm is brewing as the wind hastens,
the darkening troposphere trembles
with the tornado's teeming tempest afar.
Cumulonimbus clouds meet, gathering to
brood, to share their destructive morose
mood, just as he did that fearful, fateful night
as his friends gathered about taunting him.
This would be no ordinary storm, but a deadly
terrorizing storm exceeding all previous storms.

As the tornado strikes, Hades is awakened
to rise up with Cerberus at his side to
meet the onslaught of obliteration and
blood spilled and spattered with a frenzied
unrelenting wind force exceeding 100 mph.
The house destroyed, his family winging
their way toward heaven's golden gates,
there would be no rendering of redemption.

As the tornado became weak and dissipated,
spent from spinning and swirling its wrath,
its path of decimation and destruction lay
bare with the departed and hard hearted who
cast his lot and became besot to spend his
final unremorseful days of hate with Hades.

*Hades was lord of the underworld and ruler of the dead
in Greek mythology.

*Cerberus was the three-headed guard dog belonging to Hades.

Note* This poem parallels the wrath and destruction
of a tornado with a man who goes berserk and, during
a frenzied rampage, kills his entire family.

The Take Off

"The Take Off"

That feeling
when the plane
speeds down the runway
and lifts up

you know …
how it feels;

left the jungle
with the forest
to work it all out
amongst themselves

somewhere in
the lower atmosphere
wings spread
ruffling their feathers

for take off

undressing the addressing
garments and heavy baggage
no longer required
in the thermosphere

that place way above
the camouflaged
claustrophobic
muggy troposphere

you know ...
sans cloak,
naked masks are us;
is it hot in here, or what?

Unfettered and Free

Unfettered and Free

Unfettered and free,
Seeking my ultimate destiny,
Flying through a dark, cobalt blue sky,
Like an extra light kite,
Effortlessly taking flight,
With strong wings, like a sleek bird I soar.
Friendly, gentle winds propelling me to greater heights,
Up, up, up -
High above big, billowy, cotton ball clouds,
Higher, higher, higher -
Rising into the atmosphere,
Gliding through the troposphere,
Reaching for the stratosphere,
Shooting like Halley’s Comet through the mesosphere,
Catapulting into the thermosphere,
Then with extraordinary speed, like a rocket I exit the exosphere.
Breaking free -
Not even gravity has the power to pull me down.
No longer a victim of Earth’s self-imposed boundaries,
Nothing can stop me now –
As a child of the universe,
I’m valiantly venturing into the unknown,
To the mysterious stars where I belong,
To infinity and beyond -
Unfettered and free!

TORPEDOS’ NAPALM

T remors shocked the penguins of the Arctic Circle.
O rbital the water lobbed in the ocean.

P enguins dangled high in the air.
E stablishing that quavers do manifest in cold weather,
D issolving the water into a formed ditch.

Firework

Up above the sky so high
Lightening with a cracker sound why
Thunder all around in all crackers factory
Colours of glory over the victory

Like the destroying evil spirit winds gone
Green purple blue orange and yellow and so on..
Like a rainbow colours in the global sphere
Fill the horizon of troposphere.

Colours in eyes view
Like a Crystal clear queue
Wanting more and amore shades of colour thrice
Like a beautifying path of rays incident to eyes.

Rays with denser to rarer air with critical angle action
  Inclining with total internal reflection
And a mirage of appearance of firework
With the invention of gunpowder work.

These beautiful colours can be seen twinkling
The petal shape of rings of firework wing
Above the river, over the ocean, over every house black, blue or white
Above the religious places like a landscape light

On the other hand like a spark in vision with the opposite reaction
Over the absorption of colours of equal action
Moment’s sky with particles of fire carbon dating increases firstly
Oxygen combines with other substance vastly

Leading your glittering eyes wrinkle by depletion of ozone layer
O goddess of earth your beauty is above all
Show your beauty daily in everyone’s eyes of your art
Remove the evils from every heart.

Purifying every soul’s with overwhelming trees of love
Dawn earth’s beauty is above all sparkling dove
Environment friendly fireworks will keep healthy, wealthy and wise
O goddess earth pure the firework light in everyone sight…

Rise Up N Down

Moving towards high
In a transit period of time
Moved up in the troposphere, mesosphere.

Like a pinnacle of earth
In the layers per layers
Like a feel good factor
But one thing you forget

You have a heart
Which is surrounded by social animal’s
You listen to your heart
Like a finger cross

You close your eyes
and you jumped down
You thought you will reach
The surface of earth

But you fall down
Further n reached the marina trenched.
and there were plants that binds your legs
You started shaking your whole body
To get away with that .

as you have lungs
You cannot survive In deep ocean
Luckily you streched your legs hard
And started swimming without knowing swimming
and you reach above n reach surface
Wow what a wonderful experience
Covered such a huge length

Terra Firma

Whims and fancies fly sky-high
Each man's dreams touch the troposphere.
Some find it within themselves to break
Free from earth's restricting sphere!

But come they must for their final roost,
To earth be still fast-bound.
From dust ye came and there ye'll rest
Merged finally with the ground!

So soar on high to the utmost point
Go light years hence from the earth.
But do realise that come what may
Your one with your place of birth!

I know that visions of galactic jaunt
Find pride of place in you.
But humble origins is your lot
Find realism in all ye do!

My Neighbor Kofi

MY NEIGHBOR KOFI
LOCATION: Mazamaza, Lagos, Nigeria:
My neighbor kofi,
The computer scientist
At 34,
He crisscrossed, jetcrosed, redcrossed,
And hobnobbed around the globe:
Kathmandu, Acapulco and the Galapagos

He dined and wined
Like there was no tomorrow
He dined and wined
With Kings and queens;
Cuban cigars, dom perignon 59, Cabernet Sauvignon;
Lamborghini Gallardo, Rolls Royce and Ferrari

He saw the world
Through,
Rose colored spectacles

He jetted North, then South
He jetted in Sommer, then in winter
Then,
He jetlagged....
His battery drained
And,
His computer crashed
Then,
The speck fell
From his eyes
He,
Drank garri without sugar
Ate wild mushrooms
And drank bitter lemon.......

He googled his front
And ogled his back
In his minds eyes
He saw a knotted gray tie
And a pregnant woman
He heard a cock crow
But saw a thick blanket
Of darkness cascade toward, over him
He could not discern
Beyond his nose......

He saw the clouds gathering
But no rain
He saw the palm trees sway
Almost to a breaking point
Then,
He saw the harmathan
Gathering momentum
At the lower troposphere.....

He felt the cold
North East trade wind
Hit his face.......

He mounted his green horse
Named: Don Longhorn
Adjusted his helmet
Then,
 Saw a thick haze
Of dust behind him......

It tumbled, rumbled, crumbled and cracked,
It thundered, hissed and clappered
Lightening flashed around him
But,
Don Longhorn and Kofi
Forged ahead...
Into the night....
Into a blanket of darkness......

Swim My Ocean

Swim my ocean
Walk my land
Jump my troposphere
And trapopause me
I’m up here in the stratosphere
Increased is my desire for you
To find me
My temperature has increased
Knowing you are near
Once you reach me my love
We will not mix nor will we cry
You may stay as long as you want
My love where are you going
I refer
You may stay long as you want
What is that?
You’re off to see if mesosphere
And thermosphere can treat you better
I say
My love never
My darling don’t go
You won’t be able to breathe
Way up there
Come back

Arc

ARC
(to David)

There is a thing people sometimes see
if they look long at the heavens, eventually

an arc of light across the sky
as a comet burns through the troposphere to die

it burns also to memory
its light and shape and symmetry

and once seen, is rarely forgot
Many things it is. I will tell you a thing it is not;

it is not sad.

Only perhaps, a solemn event
as the life of the comet is burned and spent.

no one should mourn the death all life must find
rather marvel at the trail of beauty it leaves behind

at the path of luster and the brilliance of light
that graces the heavens with the arc of its flight

seeing it, we are not sad that part of the universe flies to rest
but that, having stood under its arc, our spirits have been so greatly blest.
