Best Trip Up Poems
My wife and I share a passion for travelling, the world we love to see
We travelled through France and Switzerland and we're now in Italy
Day one was a trip in a cable car to the summit of Mount Baldo
The views from the top were amazing of Lake Garda down below.
Day two we visited Verona, a city of great architectural beauty
And it's where Shakespeare was inspired by Juliets famous balcony
We saw great works of art showing statues, of Roman mythology
Churches now outnumber them after their conversion to Christianity.
Day three we went on a speed boat trip on the beautiful Lake Garda
Then had a walk around the town of Sirmoine, and ate some tasty pizza
Of course the day would not be complete without tasting some gelato
Every flavour you can think of, it's ice cream in case you didn't know.
On the fourth day we went to Venice and we were pleasantly surprised
St Marks Square, Rialto Bridge, Doges Palace and The Bridge of Sighs
Lots of narrow passageways that leads to many a little square
Words alone can't convey its appeal you really have to be there.
On the fifth and last day a scenic trip up the Dolomite mountains
We saw scenic alpine images and drove through villages with fountains
Swiss style chalets dotted the hillsides that added to its great charm
Scenes of utmost tranquillity that gives you a feeling of inner calm.
Day six and its time to head back home, and we travelled through the night
Through Switzerland then Calais in France, to catch the ferry at first light
Then just two more coaches that will take us nearer to our home
My wife is looking at brochures for next year, to see where else we can roam.

I thought I’d write a limerick
(As sonnets now just make me sick)
But can’t for all the friggin’ rules
That always trip up southern fools;
So, thus, a couplet has to do
For me to say what’s next to you:
Howdy, Soupers, guess who’s back –
It’s Phil, the convict “poet” hack!
Free at last aft’ 90 days
Spent missing all through orange malaise;
I'm finally here (and glad to be)
Where brilliant friends live poetry.
Hello. :)
Near the lobby in the great room
we first make our rendezvous.
A breathy trip up to my stateroom
and I am at last alone with you.
I sense your fragrant muskiness
as I tease off your tenuous cover
and reveal the lustrous duskiness
of your dark body to your lover.
As your wrap falls to the floor
and in all your glory you disrobe
the hungry demon waits no more
and I encup your tempting globe.
I cannot think what may transpire...
Shall I regret today's caprice?
But I cannot vanquish my desire
and sweet passion will not cease.
Deferred until tomorrow all guilt trips
and now, oh chocolate truffle... to my lips!

Inspired by Jon Cavanaugh's "Ode to Chocolate".
Please do not hold me within those claws of unworthiness
As if your judgment alone DEFINES me!
Get out of here, you little baby,
You don’t recognize what’s good for you!
Push away the peas,
But you’re still going to have to eat them!!!!
Your fresh eyes glanced easily upon stupidity,
No, not stupidity—merely mistake!
An innocent, mind-begrudging mistake!
That, yes, I admittedly made. . .
This is not even a scratch on the surface—
Not even a soft powder-pat on your tiny balls
That little trip up you witnessed,
That you misconceived as smart-alecky trash,
That you automatically assumed was ME,
It was YOU
So, rest easy,
I mashed the peas for you:
My heart is pumping with what you will never know
I am bleeding along the surface of your hardened exterior
I am a silly mistake in the form of a slip of the finger—
An acquitted mistake
That I will never make again
(trust me on that one, OLIVER!)
With all the efforts of justification,
You rest your eyes with utter annoyance upon me now
For that human, that CHILD standing there,
Smiling in the light like a sunburned baby’s ass
Is nothing but a diaper-filled disruption—
A **** disturbance uncalled for
But is adequately named, the one who IGNORES
The moment I looked at you, Oliver
I was certain of a sweet heart
It was in your eyes—a trust of kindness so genuine
So attractive you were,
Full of newness—a shiny toy that remains in the box
Limited edition (emphasis on limited)—exclusive….
By Destiny’s pacifying distain,
She taught me I could be crushed of dreams
The moment I fall on my face—
That people are not always who you think they will be
That I could be utterly and undeniably wrong in the good I see
And God, you sir, are so deliberately ugly to me!!!!!!
How’s that for an ETERNAL impression?!
*Sorry guys. But I needed a raw rant off my chest. Love you guys immensely. If there’s an Oliver that reads this poem on here, I promise I am not aiming this at you babe….just had to make that clear…. XD *
The mythical fates had a dubious task
Sewing the cloth of life for men
“How did that work?” you ask
Well, get three sisters who sew
Give each one a specific job.
When done, down the tubes you go.
Anyway get the picture…its destiny
Clotho sews the cloth of life
Putting in all the events for a person
Joyful time or existence filled with strife
It was then that life could improve or worsen
Marriage, children, oops…divorce, of course
Married again, children, oh no….divorce
You forgot to remember…don’t use force
Or, you’ll wind up in the pokey like any dark horse
Lachesis the much important second sister…
Her job was vast and excitingly dire
The name was a tongue twister
Yet, imagine the names of all the men
Placed in a big jug…she’s been hired
To draw a name---uh oh…what did you win?
A one way trip up to angels or down to be fired
No matter ready or not, you’re officially a “has been.”
Well, are you ready for the third little lady?
Just so you know Atropos means death
Now let’s review…here’s a dry run.
Sewer, drawer…so what’s left?
Someone has to use the cutters
This third gal chops it off---life’s cloth
Word is she does not even sputter
One whack and a snip—it’s like flame to the moth.
Best advice…be careful when you refer to fate
These little old ladies take offense…uh, oh too late!

Dam straight dam straight,
These ill lines are great,
Best be evacuating your current mindset,
Let yourself breath away from your television set,
You unconsciously imitate,
Looking for my soul mate,
Exploring in all places before it's too late,
Hear the voice within my words, open the gate,
Can you see me? Can you hear me?
Taking spiritual form covering all the oceans seas,
I know you don't believe me,
I don't even believe myself,
These words are stealthy, straight to my paper,
As they escape my hidden chambers,
What about the danger, am I cursed within this society I live,
At the same time my minds an information siv,
Processing knowledge into my narratives,
I've got bars up in this poetry heaven,
Never leaving, always believing
Because I'm receiving mad skills while I'm breathing,
Ignoring the heathen doomed because they don't bloom,
Zooming, at subatomic speeds,
Feeding, neurons, but could fall like Megatron,
Transformers in disguise, defeating the Decepticons,
Hear what I say, I'm the rays, that make you grow,
Flowing illmatic, attack with my eternal static,
Swag, turbo at high boost with no lag,
Claim my position, on this mission I put up my flag,
Fantastic rad flow I lay down,
Top off the ladder within this realm,
I dissect your idea's with my ancient intellect,
Detecting your folly, your on a foolish streak,
Found when I sit around and listen to people speak,
Was seeking in the wrong places,
Finding no consciousness behind their faces,
Causing me to trip up, double knot my laces,
Never keeping to the basics,
Can't even fake this, it makes me sick,
Instead I assist, I try and I try,
Percentage always high,
Will live a long life before I die,
Knowledge of self keeps me rich,
Never flinch at anyone dropping bombs,
My poetry may seem long,
But it belongs here, right here and now,
Devouring into the ground like a balanced tower,
Planting the first seed and im goin to watch it flower
In the woods of great greens and fast running streams are Trilliums growing in the late
spring.
Three white peddles with a hint of purple bloom, yet there are more colors where the
Trilliums bloom.
In the Forests and the woods floor, the Trilliums grow next to the great ferns of the great
northwest.
Where everything drips with supple dew.
Everything is wet fresh and true.
The Johnny-Jump-ups came early this spring, nothing short of amazing are the sweet
Trilliums in bloom.
Awoke to the loud frogs croaking as if to remind one that spring is calling.
Then one could not sleep as the dew started falling.
There were once two girls that made a trip up on a hill every year at the same time.
Mayday was here and it was picking Trilliums in their prime.
If a May basket was not made in school, they would still pick large bouquets and surprise
their mom with them.
For those days are gone now and the girls have moved apart, but the memories of mom and
the Sweet Trilliums still warms this girls heart.

I walk into door frames, I trip up the stairs.
I rant on about stuff, when nobody cares.
I say all the wrong things, and freak people out.
It's just theres no filter, from my brain, to my mouth.
I'm socially awkward, and horribly shy.
I barely say hello, and never say goodbye.
I'm one of those people, who tends to just stare.
Then complain about you, forgetting you're there.
I'm sullen and mean, as barbed as wire fence.
I'm so insecure, it's a form of defense.
I'm bad at making friends, but when I do.
I make it for life, my friendship is true.
When I walk anywhere, i stare at the ground.
That's why I accidentally knock people down.
I laugh at bad jokes, and all the wrong times.
I take it too far, misinterpret the signs.
When i talk and I'm nervous, it makes me talk faster.
I might as well face it, I'm a social disaster!
Calm sits a valiant man inside of a dungeon
In Darkness sits a monk inside of a Monastery
And On this night they both share the same thoughts
how long God untill I am free from here
Footsteps resound down through the hall
They Listen as the sound goes back and forth
The Valiant man awaits his execution
The monk has been put in charge of reading his last rights
Now we hear the murmur as the crowd gathers
They are laughing and joking with one another
The Valiant man smiles because he too finds his death enjoyable
It's relaxing I must agree with him
And why is the monk so scared of death
The Final bell is rung
And There dressed in black
under the black hood is the executioner
He runs his finger down the blade of his ax
He looks up here comes the Valiant man
And for the first time on the job
He is faced with fear
His composure faulters
His finger slips and droplets of blood
Fall from the fresh cut
Now there's a battle fuaght inside his mind
Because he knows
that this execution will torture him forever
Silence falls over the crowd
This proud look of this mighty warrior
Commands respect and they observe it
The Monk stumbles but he does not trip up when he speaks
My Son are you ready to make peace with your Maker
Thank you Father, but me and God have never been in opposition
The Monks says You"re what the prophets wrote about
When they wrote about Valiant men
Son forgive me I am curious
How many men did it take to capture you
He say's I don't know i killed them all
Father look around, I killed every man in the King's army
And I would of did it a long time ago
If i knew that they was going to reward me by sending me back to my Father
Let the peace of God be with you Monk
And with those words This worthy man falls to the ground
The Executioner can't bring himself to raise the ax
And this Valiant man taunts him in the face of death
Please do it! I never ask a coward for a favor
Christmas time again
time to shop and gain.
Spare sometime to find a tree
that is perfect just for me.
A trip up the hill
adorn with beauty still
powder white snow
glistening with the sun’s glow.
Upon early cold dawn
with summer long gone,
cannot help to lie upon the sound
snow covered ground.
Snow angels to be found
under my frame round and round
giggle, laughter, so profound.
Through the crowns of pinnacle trees
bright sun burst around a Christmas tree
excelling in its sight,
emerald green arms to the light.
Immerse in a dream
an image of armor gleam
tensile garland, lights, and glass ornaments
presents under the tree and what it represents.
A symbol of Christ, a sign of undying life.
A Christmas tree of life.
Left the snowy hill, my heart be still
an artificial balsam fir and away from the chill.

You traveled with me in a flash of thought.
Tanja called from Frankfurt on the Main.
She arrived in Germany; there was no one to meet her.
Let guide her together on her trip up the Rhine.
A friend is ill, please give him strength.
He is special, thoughtful and kind.
The twins-Stephan and Thomas skipped school.
Bless this day! Erase John Adams Junior High from my mind.
I should be in New York to take care of Martha.
Her first baby is due any time.
A home birth as such, I refuse to worry.
With you present, I know she is fine.
Herbert, for the firs time in love,
utters that his whole life is torn.
Putting the pieces together, he ties up the phone line
caring less, what time Martha's baby is born.
Edgar needs a ride home and I cannot drive.
I tell him to stay on the line until I let
the dog out the door.
Nobody understands Edgar and no one cares.
“What do you think a mother is for?”
Where would I be without you beside me?
I could not have coped with today.
Just one more favor!
My back is killing me, please do not go away.
Forget it!
I settle for the heating pad.
Contrary to what the naysayers say
Happy is definitely a choice
So pay no attention to all those people
Kick up your heels and rejoice
This old world's been around forever
It's here for some time to come
Might as well be happy, enjoy your stay
Even if you fall on your bum
Now which scenario is more appealing
Singing and waking up with a smile
Or grumbling and always moping around
Time to stop acting like a child
There are no free passes in this here life
Must earn your trip up to Heaven
So jump on that happiness bandwagon
Contentment will be yours till the end

A Special Flight
By joeysguy
This small and special hot air balloon
It will be leaving sometime soon
When the flight is full a bell will ring
That will be when you hear an Angel sing
Everyone enters into the basket
Heaven will be the exit
We take small groups of one hundred and eleven
We only go to Heaven
This flight has no age limit
For this trip any age can get on it
To take this trip you must have past away
Something happened that you died this very day
I’m sorry that you are on this flight
We take you to the light
You might meet someone that you once knew
Like someone who loved you
We may have lived for some years alone
I don’t believe that we ever die alone
We take this trip up to Heavens space
This would be the final resting place
Before you read this, let me say this is not what I'm feeling or going to attempt. This is just creative writing; one of my many styles and types I rarely do. And now I present to you,
THE FINAL TRIP (a dark poem)
suicidal thoughts creeping in,
the razors edge is my helping friend,
we take a trip up the river,
along the way I feel a rush of cold n I began to shiver,
the trip stops n everything I see becomes a haze,
paleness lays upon my face,
and with each last breath I hear the footsteps of death,
now everything becomes dark,
the only sound I hear is the fading beat of my heart

Camping on the sandy shore of the beach
Getting bored by the waves and their screech
Sitting around the camp after cooking out
It was so much fun just talking at our hangout
Soon, we noticed a couple who were fighting
Across the beach in a house we were sighting
They were making trip after trip up the stairs
We all knew this battle wasn’t one of our affairs
Still we watched from our place in our lawn chairs
Not much caring that it was darkening their tears
We watched for hours and heard their angry shouts
When we finally hit the sack it was midnight or thereabouts
While we laughed and hooted at the wife’s victory
That husband was bellowing that this was contradictory
Never would we forget that vacation with its entertainment
During our monotony on the beach this was our sustainment
