Best Tides Poems
"Over the waters blue the night winds sigh, the breakers roar." Lord Byron
Dawn brushes sapphire skies
Dawn summons turquoise tides
Tides flow upon golden shores
Tides wash away sandcastles
Sandcastles that brought joy
Sandcastles built on dreams
Dreams bring hope for tomorrow
Dreams are fragile butterflies
Butterflies symbolise evolution
Butterflies love to migrate
Migrate towards distant petals
Migrate against winds of change
Change reflects through time
Change is illustrated in seasons
Seasons give birth in spring
Seasons bring death in Autumn
Autumn is the nemesis of summer
Autumn eases us into winter
Winter is cursed with ebony essence
Winter is a time for soul searching
Searching for belonging
Searching for romance
Romance is a vibrant palette
Romance soothes lonely hearts
Hearts connect through distance
Hearts have hidden harmonies
Harmonies through lullabies
Harmonies heard when silent
Silent like separated stars
Silent like midnight streams
Streams merge into seas
Streams dissolve into waves
Waves wash away worries
Waves carry our whispers
Whispers of a ship in a bottle
Whispers of new beginnings
Beginnings of a fresh seed
Beginnings of new paths
Paths that bring purpose
Paths that lead to happiness
Happiness of effervescent eyes
Happiness is a way of life
Life has many chapters
Life writes our stories
Stories with or without words
Stories shown through poetry
Poetry full of emotions
Poetry that is visible

The Tides of Our Passion
The tides of our passion cry out my love,
As we seek to define who we are now.
To live this special life gives us that how,
And when and why we must seek God above!
Our souls blend one perfect constant of love,
As we prize God’s cosmic eternal vow.
Our passion defines our life and us now;
Our love basks in Heaven’s own light above!
Our passion’s rapture is love replete,
With brilliant emotions forever bright,
As we kiss softly under God’s moonlight!
Love’s magical force makes our life complete,
As we seek happiness here on God’s Earth,
Knowing love shall transcend our mortal birth!

Sly low tide sneaks up to smooch the smooth shore
that holds old footsteps left behind us
and lends itself to sand castles
standing guard until high tide
plovers dart on fleet feet
across sodden sands
spindle-legged girls
hunt conch shells—
starfish
found!
Blue
waters
glistening
aqua appeal—
white-horse sea magic
spindrift manes rise from crests
awakened from lowest ebb
high tide arrives on thunder hooves
body-surf Neptune’s steeds to the shore—
my wet hair dries to sun-bleached beachy waves…
old familiar songs
on wings of time
tug at my heart strings
transporting me through
perilous dimensions
where moonlight lingers
and your voice
carries the weight
of the world

Waking up, in a light gray four poster bed.
With flowers and ribbons, painted
on the ceiling above my head.
.
Satin slippers and a robe, so soft.
A young girl, I feel when I do recall......
Those decades ago, those tender memories
that are never lost!
.
The walk down the soft, rose-colored,
carpeted stairs,
I honestly felt as a princess belonging to a
great monarchy somewhere.
Each time I glided down those circular stairs,
so rare!
.
I ate in the breakfast nook, on the most elegant
ivory wood table, I ever saw.
With a maple hutch with priceless nic nacs
and family photographs.
.
The milk was delivered to the back door.
In glass! No wax, faux de raul.
The tablecloth was always clean.
And heavenly pressed. Mom had fresh
flowers on it, or seasonal decor.
Outside, the grass was soft like God's
carpet, so green,so summer fresh!
I loved my bare feet, running through it.
An gigantic umbrella, was there in a table
of course.
Bright golden yellow outside, inside of it a
veritable bevy of flowers.
That table so outstandingly white~
It so reflected the innocence of my very
blessed days and full starlit nights.
I did my homework in the dining room
on a polished mahogany dining room table.
Above me a sparkling crystal chandelier.
Below me, i rested on dark, thick, green
velvet cushions.
Yes, life was more than good to me.
To recall these young girlish days
with you, ah!
I do so quite happily, through a
poetic lens of time.
With you, my beloved, new poetry
family.

lazily the waves
lap the pebbles on the beach
a crab scurries by
to burrow beneath wet sand
a prisoner of the tides
Rampage rumbling water roars dig the shores
Heavy hard they grapple trees and humans
Tumbling turner tides glide no one adore
Frightened humans, they run! Run and run fast!
As they desire to survive ever more
From angry nimbus clouds darkening span
To merry-go-round waves muddy wet skirt
Gnawing so hungry to launch damage pert
Beeping screams a reigning train of terror
Rattling man's safety in viral bellow
The ground shut bullet rush without error
All will see an avalanche fresh fresco
the scathe and cries a full furor mirror
Waiting for hope - the sun's chrome of yellow
Abrupt sea assault bridge to sudden death
Taking all weak and anyone with breath

Before me lies the ocean, with its shore,
maintaining varied limits day and night;
at times, beyond its border, reaching more
than ever, thrashing out in wild delight.
At other times, so docile, ebbing low
with timid ripples that creep on the sand.
With highs and lows, the tides reshape its flow,
by rhythms that obey the moon's command.
And here, I'm like an ocean at low tide,
in quiet stillness, feeling down and out-
no energy, I let my high waves slide
and merge with the calm seascape hereabout.
But like this ocean, soon my tides will turn-
as waves roll in and stretch along the beach,
and thrashing out in wild delight, return
to grasp the joy of everything in reach.

For what shall come of morning tides
Pure heart so fine in charcoal skies
of breath my mind does see
This captured feeling locked inside,
alone as to believe
For what shall come of morning tides
along the wish filled shore
In seashell decorated time,
to want a little more
What sent this ship of harbor dreams
to sail a course so lost
As currents bide my every whim,
now simplified the cost
When once the sunrise happiness
did take a weathered turn
For but a few words offered up
in lessons I have learned
My sails, the moon’s reflective light
aglow an empty grin
Atop the wave’s deserted flight
to want this love again
For this shall be my journey true
in aimless rambled roam
If I have not the love of you
I sail these seas alone
Of courses kept in lock and key,
where island beaches call
Upon this deck on bended knee,
the darkness comes to fall
As life shall raise its mighty hand
of you that I do seek
Collapsing firm upon this man
in testament so weak
Come set these chains that hold me tight,
my body craves the pain
As on these seas of bright moon light,
I cry within the rain
When minutes dance and hours pass,
I plead to desperate skies
Explain to me how this can be
in scenes before my eyes
Take me home, my heart does scream,
begin these days anew
My life it lives a wayward dream
with out the love of you
Storm swept seas assault the shore
Lashing out with rage unsated
Attacking with the wrath of Thor
Oceans temper unabated
Reaching out with icy hands
Fists of foam grip granite walls
Succeeding not with it's demands
Retreats to Poseidon's halls

In a calyx of ambivalent dreams,
where shadows swirl as silken strands,
I slip through the surface,
a sailboat in a tide of thoughts,
where colors speak in whispers,
and sounds weave a tapestry
of guffaw and sighs.
I am an astronaut,
zipping into a cosmos of canorous clangor
past comets with names such as chimera
and planets blooming with a corpulent deluge
simmering under layers of desultory dust,
each a sun waiting
to ignite an encomium spark.
Footfalls on the ledge of splendor,
swirling in circles,
a kaleidoscope of moments —
jumping from the quicksilver
of a fleeting glance,
to the deep sinkhole of silence,
where time slows to the pulse of heart.
Here, on this canvas of perception,
the boundary of self dissolves,
melting into the esoteric ocean
and excruciatingly eviscerated thoughts
are squid jauntily joined by caring currents,
amber-colored fires dancing on the horizon,
unraveling secrets hidden in their stings.
I chase shadows,
those swift-painting phantoms,
a ghostly gap in gnarled grooves of life,
seeking sincerity in a swirl of sights —
the stillness of awareness,
longing wrapped in vibrant coils,
darkness stitched with fragile threads of light.
In stillness, I stroll.
feeling every pulse evolve into a quilt of colors.
tracing trails tracked by supple notions.
as the clock spins dizzy tales —
my pen touches the sky,
gathering glimpses in gradients of glides.
a jaunt laced with lingering layers.
charting caverns of concealed aspirations.
where wisdom blooms in wild gardens,
Inviting all intrepid inclined to intrude
the twinkling, tantalizing tones
of existence, endlessly entwining
every exhale an echoing essence.
of something that yearns.
to be liberated and let loose.
Exploring nothing.
Empty space.
Being filled by words of no meaning
Just a wandering pen beautifully completing the emptiness
Spilling from a querying heart
A wandering mind
Full of seagulls and tinkling bells
Next to the crashing waves of foamy thought..
Lapping slowly onto the mind
In the present moment
What is next?
As the moon pulls back the ownership of gravity
Like a bedsheet or a duvet covering the naked Earth
How the moon shelters the tender ocean
From the cold of the nighttime sky..
Blanket of love and warmth
You have sheltered me since our birth
And now, we breathe together
Tangible harmony
Slavish synergy
Locking our existence in the outer
But reaching into the inner
Rhythm of our presence
In this celestial celebration dance
eye can't keep it still
the taste of ample moorings
anchors plunging thirsts
Comatose agonies of turbulent currents, in breathless shivers of deepest anxieties amidst high tides in my soul.
*************
If only one stupendous wish had I,
It would be to see only a moonlit, star-studded sky.
When this frenzied world is divinelly asleep and still.
Just the sound of the fish splashing happily in that
rock-lit pond on my beloved moonlit hill.
When nobody is running to and fro,
With news of the day, so very negative, bro!
I simply cannot take anymore prophets of doom.
I prefer drifting in poetic reverie in my candle scented
bedroom.
To recall perchance,in a muse blessed,dreamlike state,
The intoxicating aroma of cherry blossoms in another
time and place.
To eternally love you and your divinely chiseled body
and face.
Days of boundless joy, I will always treasure.
Of the many decades God blessed me to live in health
and auspicious splendour.
The endless seconds and minutes and years ahead.
Not rushed, just to quietly pen more thoughts in a room
full of roses, intoxicating, and of the deepest red.
