"It would be well, perhaps, if we were to spend more of our days and nights without any obstruction between us and the celestial bodies, if the poet did not speak so much from under a roof, or the saint dwell there so long. Birds do not sing in caves, nor do doves cherish their innocence in dovecots." - Henry David Thoreau

"We know more about the movement of celestial bodies than about the soil underfoot." - Leonardo da Vinci

Listen to poem:
Exploring nothing. Empty space. Being filled by words of no meaning Just a wandering pen beautifully completing the emptiness Spilling from a querying heart A wandering mind Full of seagulls and tinkling bells Next to the crashing waves of foamy thought.. Lapping slowly onto the mind In the present moment What is next? As the moon pulls back the ownership of gravity Like a bedsheet or a duvet covering the naked Earth How the moon shelters the tender ocean From the cold of the nighttime sky.. Blanket of love and warmth You have sheltered me since our birth And now, we breathe together Tangible harmony Slavish synergy Locking our existence in the outer But reaching into the inner Rhythm of our presence In this celestial celebration dance

Dear Sam, your poem is so dreamy and full of feeling—it’s like a gentle wave of thoughts washing over you. The idea of a "wandering pen beautifully completing the emptiness" is such a perfect way to describe how creativity just flows. I love the way you’ve brought the moon into it, pulling back gravity like a cozy duvet—so comforting and tender. It’s like a celebration of connection, not just between the Earth and the moon but within ourselves too. Such a lovely, calming piece that feels like a big warm hug from the universe!...Hugs

Gosh this is such a beautiful, ethereal read dear Sam. Absolutely love it and an instant fav for me. Your narration with perfect tone and pitch draws the reader in to the wondrous of the night sky with all its celestial wonders. You have encapsulated so much with your poetic flair here,’ Next to the crashing waves of foamy thought’, ‘ How the moon shelters the tender ocean’ - breathtaking imagery. I love the serenity, the calmness, this brings when reading and taking delight in the harmonic
