Listen to poem:

Nocturnal Tides

old familiar songs
on wings of time
tug at my heart strings

transporting me through
perilous dimensions
where moonlight lingers

and your voice
carries the weight
of the world

I agree that this is a very worthy, winning poem. Sure did bring out the melancholy Melodie’s memories in me. Seeming simple but very powerful. Bless you, Line

Songs, attached to memories, take us back in time on nostalgic trips...very often connecting us to dear ones who are no longer with us. ~ No doubt, this poem will appeal to many. ~ Best regards, my friend. // paul

Deep poem Line. Your stanza seem like haiku, but I know it's free verse. Still I cannot let this season pass without wishing you from my heart the best greetings. Victor

Old songs are the nearest we humans have to a time machine and all the memories that come from them can truly stir the emotions. A great write Line. Cheers - Gary

This is perfectly constructed. Each line grabs you and adds a layer of depth. I thought after the first three lines, wow that was perfect--but then the remaining lines improved the perfection... I didn't think that was supposed to be possible. FAV

I share your response to old familiar songs. The hold the power to lift the world. Lovely sentiment. The second stanza is particularly haunting. Well written, Line.

My dad made a video of my mom with all the romantic sad music. I think he cried through it all. Beautiful tribute to their lives together. A lovely poem, Line! Just beautiful!
