Best Tantalise Poems
A period of youthful vim ferments
as coruscating golden flecks in eyes
that mesmerise and tantalise, give rise
to secrets in my breast to stir, foment.
The xanthous tresses that cascade torment.
My eager and impressionable sighs
that echo every pirouette and pliés,
a fleeting intercession of lament.
A maverick when it comes to amour
and quintessentially a rakish cad.
Unrequited love longstanding rancour,
but finally become your paramour.
An enigmatic smile ever so sad;
your broken heart I gladly give succour.
A girl called Lucy loved to trumpet lies
And idle gossip laced her lips with ease.
Tall tales tripped off her tongue to tantalise
Those twitching ears which reddened by degrees.
This filled her honest Mother with despair
‘You wash your mouth with soap’ she often cried.
Young Lucy shrugged it off and did not care -
To those who would do likewise, woe betide!
One day, when she’d amassed an eager crowd
Who circled round to hear the latest slur,
She stood there in the limelight, feeling proud,
When suddenly a fly buzzed near her ear.
How everybody gaped to see it dive
Right into Lucy’s mouth poised open wide,
Then heard her splutter, gasp and vainly strive
To cough it up - she choked and promptly died!
The moral of this tale is do not lie;
When tempted move your upper lip down south.
Then Lucy’s fate will surely pass you by,
Nor fly, nor lie invades a fastened mouth.

Rainbow Heartbeat
Pour me a rainbow
let it float on the sea
As it flows from your heart
and become a part of me
Yellow to brighten
any cloudy day
As upon the waves
it effortlessly plays
Red born of desire
undulating motion
Salty on my tongue
a passionate potion
Yes, pour me a rainbow
let it float on the sea
As it flows from your heart
and becomes part of me
Blue as bright as the sky
a twin on the water
Twinkling refractions
Poseidon’s daughter
Green like in a garden
ripples tickle my feet
Liquid luxurious
a horizon to greet
Orange to tantalise
on waters once pale
Jack O'Lantern splendour
intertwining with whales
Let me savour your rainbow
as it floats on the sea
Flowing from your heart
becoming part of me
Indigo intuition
free flowing crystal clear
Your gift upon the sea
that draws me near
Violet imagination
A vision complete
Oceans of possibilities
Your rainbow heartbeat.

Soft Sapphic shadows of love
Lips linked in loves deep passion
Bronze bodies burn with desire
Tongues tantalise
With Whispered words hearts unite
Two transform to become one
In Eternal ecstasy
Flying forever
Written 17/02/15
Too late for entry to Dodoitsu competition
It's always full with pages of you
Each week adding another few
You tantalise and taunt me with pride
Cupid unrelenting at my very side
Ever so present, I'm obsessed
Desiring, wanting, love is a high
I dare you to tease me at your will
Awakening me with all your light
To see and feel the love you give
Learning to love me, myself and I
Its not until then, not a day too soon
That I can love with all my heart
Mid Uzi shots from vacant lots, which strike and ricochet
A painted girl with flaxen curl (named Wendy)’s on her way
To tantalise with half-clad thighs, to trick again today;
And indiscreet along the street she gives her pride away
To any guy who’s passing by with cash and time to pay.
In concert halls, beyond the sprawls 'round shabby cabarets,
unjaded thoughts of Camelot imbue divine ballets.
A child of beauty.
Such a joy to behold,
So full of mischief
And yet good as gold.
A rare precious gem
In a world gone awry.
A laughing imp
With a sparkling eye.
Sweet innocence wrapt
In a bundle of fun,
Full of wonder and
Enchanting to everyone...
Soulful eyes,Cupid mouth,
Chubby cheeks that tantalise.
A cherub from heaven born,
Soft haired angel in disguise.
Little hands that reach in trust,
Pure,peaceful as a dove.
And inside this pint pot of charm
A heart that beats with love....
You,who would disquiet our lives
Yet lay there so gentle and mild,
You make us smile, tug at our hearts.
Such a sweet adorable child.
I wrote this when our first granddaughter was born, but it was personalised.
She is now a beautiful woman with a child of her own.
Enigmas to tantalise and tease
Opulent surroundings this fine orchard dwells
Royal blood runs through each and every branch
Grand displays of brightly coloured fruit
A vast covering as far as the eye can see
Nectar sweetens the air and fills the honey bees
Idyllic when at one with nature all around
Cultivating the paths to my inner sanctum
Fine fruits tantalise my watering mouth
Rich in vibrancy ready to be picked
Ultimate pleasure soaks my desire
Indulgently I accept the sumptuous offerings
Tantalising my tongue as I sink my teeth to bite
Succulent pieces fill my stomach and my soul
Little town do not frown, this is no country circus, there are no smiling clowns,
please wear that pretty party gown
One road in and one road out to get us all about, a spin around the roundabout,
you wandering gadabout
In the fields are sweat stained bodies toiling, tempers boiling, tilling drought ridden
fields of hardened, unforgiving soil
The sheep and cows patrol the never ending pastures, while eating off the local plate
for them there's no escape
Machinery working overtime, thrashing, cutting, relentlessly taking full grown life,
never stopping till the farmhands bedtime
Lonely streets sits waiting for any sign of life, a mother and baby, perhaps the vicars wife,
this sense of isolation rife
There's silence running all around as if this place has come to rest, upon this sandy ground
leading to the west
Though far into the distance a desperate howl is heard, it chills me to the bone, i'm ashen
faced and all a feared
The hotel sits just off the street, a bleak and sad reminder, a bitter taste of yesteryears,
when the darts team played a blinder
Yet in amongst this emptiness there is a rose filled garden, with scents, bouquets and
vibrant blooms that tantalise my weary senses, oh sweet oasis, so please i beg your pardon
For decent, honest people are living here today, to earn the pay so they will stay, their
children with a place to play
But having left the garden it's the lonely sound of tumbleweed, blowing down the empty
streets and through my head, I must take heed
Before the spiteful dust returns to seed, making plants that cry and bleed
SUMMERTIMES MAGIC.
Summertimes magic makes a fine holiday,
Where lands of enchantment, invite us to stay.
The lure of the wild, or, in peaceful solace,
These wonderful places we love to embrace.
To dive coral reefs, with it's blues and the greens of aquamarine,
Or tantalise tastebuds, with exquisite cusine.
By dining al fresco, while taking a cruise,
And drink cocktails at eight, mixed with green chartreuse.
With the tang of sliced lemon or sweet tangerine,
Those bountiful fruits will keep palates clean.
A walk on the wild side, delightfully charms,
With the heady perfume, passing lavender farms.
Those waysides and byways, when we need to refresh
At watermelon stalls quenching thirsts we stay fresh.
From the pale lilac crocus, a fine yellow spice,
For exotic dishes, saffron flavoured, served with rice.
All beautiful memories, under cerulean skies,
It's summertimes magic, which fill misty eyes.
8/ 16/ 2017.
She lay beneath the moonbeams pure
on midnight dew kissed grass.
Nestled in the forest foliage
her beckoning eye allures.
Rhythmically writhing on the blades
her sultry sway did tantalise.
Enticing me to lust driven stupor
she summoned my submission.
Straddling one to tittilation,
mounting me she lunges forth.
My mortal flow warm on her lips
So fades the waxing moon.
Dewdrops stream down boisterous
children’s freckle-strewn mischievous dials,
as they dash in cartoon costume faux denim
apparel amidst the pale yellow sunlight glare.
Marble stone button twiddle on a blue
rinse wrinkle t-shirt,
Sumptuous ice cream raspberry blobs
tantalise the cheeky taste bud imps
whose chocolate brown eyes swell with
every morsel glutinously gorged on.
Doting parents wantonly indulge
their dawn glow
offspring’s shrieks of antic wonderment,
the honeysuckle fragrance that
releases germ-stuffed
nostrils a portentous spring nectar booster
shot for folk and kin alike,
effervescent yodel from young sibling and the
young at heart zeal of golden realm guardians
elevated to this neon sign paradise,
purple sleeve lacquer layer hydrant, surreal spirit saviour
of parched embryonic throats.
Picklock to that universal perfume
cloud that hovers
over asphalt stain urn and
stoic mint green
pristine luscious lawn,
playground for the butterfly wing vernal innocent shrouded by an orange peel citric soft fruit haze.
Age span infant euphoric zoom on fountain spume,
where families in a Ferris wheel hubub rejuvenate the
lacklustre greyness of their far too often
monochrome existence.
