Best Sudden Poems
As I have and I presume most of you have as well
Had at some point in our life time
Had to experience loss and death
And a Silent muse just posed the question
I am now about to ask of you to
Given that there is no good way to die
But that death is how we all meet our end
Then on which side of this decision do you fall
A sudden death in an instant
One moment here the next you are gone
Maybe perhaps wall alone with no one there
Never having said or got to make you peace
Or being given say six months to live
Ever slowly slipping fading away
Most probably suffering daily in endless pain
Never not knowing if today is the day
And having to see the look on loved ones faces
But at least you got to say and make your peace
Goodbye and everything you wanted to say
And the funny contradictions about death
Is it effects those way far more still living in reality
Than the dead for sure per say
As in death the dead pose no question anymore
As they are Silent One and all forevermore
as cold sudden rain
pummels our umbrella. . . . .
your long warm kiss

A ghastly cadaver drops, for whose noble sake?
To ravish the grandeur of wildlife
In the thud of night; to mangle
Mother Earth's gift and its life's intent
Where each tender beast moves in a flow
Linking a primal, fond tie with nature’s deities…
But the affinity with innocent children, its tribe
Snuffed with one ruthless bang in the forest
When pitiless minds become delirious… heinous
A giraffe, a leopard perishes without knowing
The lithe body quickly turns into a gaunt shadow,
How sudden. Just like that: unable to play with birds
And race with own calf or cubs along an inlet...
O hollow night, O lamp of silence drained
By the vicious game from predators
Lusting after power...just like that
And no one can tell, for whose noble sake?
Oops!
I slipped over,
At my door step,
Was it intentional?
Less I presume it was just a mere incident,
That almost resulted to an accident,
Walking in the street,
I meet with influential potential humans,
Wearing shirt sleeves...
Guess,
Its a formal dress code,
To achieving your dreams in the city,
Walking in the street of life,
I barely distinguish the possible impossible,
It's sometimes,
Possible to achieve the impossible,
At times,
It's obviously impossible to achieve the possible,
I keep walking...
Hoping to encounter a sudden glorious opportunity,
To solving life's inevitable mystery in simplicity.
Sudden Shower
by Michael R. Burch
The day’s eyes were blue
until you appeared
and they wept at your beauty.
This is a poem you’re welcome to share, if you like it, as long as you credit me as the author. It could be a nice “rainy day” poem, pardon the pun, for that special someone. “Why is it raining? Because the heavens saw your beauty and wept for joy!” The poem is similar in form to a haiku but that was accidental; it came to me in my sleep or as I was just waking up.
What a hidden force
conveyed that taste
so bitter...
What mechanism detonated
this sudden melancholy ...
What a phenomenon created
this doubt in me,
what memory invented
this tear ...!?
Life changes come in little increments
along a fated journey fraught with twists and turns.
But once in a while
changes come on sudden and dramatic
like the day you passed away.
A fatal blow ~
the instant when I became unwhole
a widow
a casualty of love.

A Sudden Reply to Love - Call and Response
SUDDENLY...
by: Germaine Pasley
Just a kiss just a touch
Just a little too much
Keep my love keep my heart
Keep my mind for a start
Hold me close hold me tight
Hold me through the night
Love me now love me free
Love me nice and see
How my love can suddenly
Take a chance and be
There's a place there's a time
There's a beauty in our rhyme
When I'm low when I'm sad
When I'm lost or feeling mad
You give me hope give me bliss
Give me one tender kiss
And I'm lost and I'm found
And I'm claimed all around
Love me now love me free
Love me nice and see
How my love can suddenly
Take a chance and be
Take a chance and be
Suddenly...
REPLY TO LOVE...
by: Dan Kearley
I'll take your kiss
With your sweet touch
I could never get enough
With all your love in your sweet heart
Has filled my mind right from the start
I'll hold you close, and tender tight
With flaming passion all thru the night
My love for you now will always be
Believe in me, and you will see
How our love will suddenly
Take a chance and be...
With me
Any place or anytime
Our rhymes beauty will intertwine
When your sad or feeling low
Or just lost with no where to go
I'll give you hope with a tender kiss
Filled with passion, and with bliss
If your ever lost you will be found
For my love for you knows no bounds
My love for you now will always be
Believe in me, and you will see
How our love will suddenly
Take a chance and be
With me...

"Haiku Your Way" Contest
Plötzlicher Nebel / Sudden Fog / Repentina niebla (Haiku)
Plötzlich dichter Nebel
Häuser verschwimmen in Schatten
Nur Lichter von ferne
A sudden dense fog
And houses blurred in shadows
Only lights in the distance
Densa niebla repentina
Casas en sombras borrosas
Sólo luces en la distancia
Schatten im Nebel / Shadows in the Fog / Sombras en la niebla (Haiku)
Schatten im Nebel
Vergehende Gestalten
Grau wie die Häuser
Shadows in the fog
Only some passing figures
Gray as the buildings
Sombras en la niebla
Sólo figuras que pasan
Gris como los edificios
Note: When I was walking in the streets to do some shopping yesterday evening there was a dense fog which inspired me to write these Haiku

Lives Sudden Change
I can never get use to life's sudden change
The pieces of the puzzle getting rearranged
Life’s direction turned upside down
One minute living, the next underground
People taken from us before their time
Making no sense, reason, or rhyme
Why do the good ones always go first?
When there are so many seemingly worse
Someone explain, for I fail to understand
The senseless death of another good man
I know that death is a part of life
And no one is immune, not husband or wife
But the pain is so hard to bear
When you lose someone in which you care
Lord forgive me for these words of doubt
I’m just painfully trying to figure this out
In high school I was bullied by one kid...
For three years he picked on me,
made fun of me,
and tried me on every possible occasion....
Understand,
I am a peaceful man,
a mediator,
he took that as weak....
My senior year he tried me
and I put my fist in his mouth,
he fell back and I repeatedly stomped him until my boys pulled me off.....
He wanted to fight me because his sister through herself at me
during the Halloween party the night before.
I took advantage,
like when lady Guinevere came to Lancelot..
I was Micheal Myers
she was a naughty school girl!!
I did it out of spite,
To provoke a fight.
I wanted to whoop his ass
I was playing football,
in weight training,
and hung with the thugs,
My brothers,
the streets were home!!!
I wanted to whoop his ass.
I hit him with a two piece with a biskit...

It has suddenly become very cold
And I think, this time, it will not recede.
The warmth we've known may never be enjoyed
By our children and their future seed.
It was cold before and our Uncle Sam
Knocked down the Eastern Door to keep us warm.
His strength could keep us all from harm.
But now, the cold is from the North.
And, while I've learned to duck and cover,
I am not prepared to bow to this wild wind.
I hope my Uncle is strong enough to help again.
Maybe he will hear this call, before we fall
To this blatant challenge to us all.
It has suddenly become very cold indeed.
