Come Rain

Come rain, come; let the swallows fly
Let womb of swollen seeds travail
Let the prison wall of dust now die
Come rain, come in water, sleet, and hail

Come rain, come and brim the dusty eye
Let the heart its sorrows melt today
Sublimate our griefs into a sigh
Distill clouds into a brighter day

Tears show us the rainbow of the soul
To think that dust the lights spectrum break
And life's struggle is the prism of our gold
Come rain, tell the nightingale now awake

Tell the grass to cushion still our feet
And let green things feel their jubilee
God in us will make our hope complete
Come rain, pour his Spirit upon me.

Ulan At Sinag Ng Araw: Pagmumuni Ng Isang Tulirong Isip

my head touches the pillow
as gentle rain lulls me
and i just want to s
                             i
                             n
                              k

into the sheets,
fold into myself,
….be forgotten,

immerse myself with the raindrops
and blend in—
    washed out,
washed away,

be a mere globule
in those floodwaters

and once it recedes,

let me be

--bleached
by
sunlight

scrub a w a y
my darkness,

let that vast spectrum of light
assault it

let those rays
shine
No.
make that, glare--
into my outer and inner beings,
highlighting each of my flaws—

(--can’t you see?—
--tell me,
is it not amidst sunlight
that you see
all those dust particles
floating about?

air may seem invisible,
  but it's not invincible

think. Again.

--those countless, innumerable
nano flaws)

let those rays
burn through me,
forcing melanocytes
to aggregate
into multiple nevi

--flaws manifested—

then after the Sun
has done its part,

allow pieces of me

to evaporate,
to condense,
to sublimate,,,,

I ramble, on
    and on ...,and on
droning, groaning
like the hardened ground,
as, it’s, pierced, by, rain daggers,

(but unlike it,
the petrichor
that I release

fails
to
invigorate me

--the reason
behind this

escapes me)

Drench,,,,, everything!!!!!!!
!!!!! unleash,,,,, ravage !!!!!
     then
  devastate!!!!!

simply:

R e l. e a s e

all that chaos
within

then after all that,
revel in the silence

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
,,,,,,,,
,,,,
,,
,

and so
I simply lie
down
on my pondering senti.mental stool-
the overthinker, the wandering fool

Cut through me, Rain,
--be my salve

Burn deep inside me, Sunlight,
--then heal my tatteredness

--------rain and sunlight: lingering thoughts of a loopy, sighing, mind-----

Monsters

We can try to hide it
Most will attempt to push the thoughts down
We’re not naturally virtuous creatures
It’s quite the contrary - we’re monsters deep down

From the savannas we arose
Fighting fiercely to survive
Selfish, instinctive, amoral, and impulsive
Ironically, that's why we’re alive

We were forged in the primordial fires
Evolved, an anxious woman, an aggressive man
For centuries we have deceive ourselves
By saying, it's all part of God's plan

We were thrust into a world
That's far different than our ancestors home
It's a new world of abundance
Where the instinctual beast is losing control

So, we sublimate our behavior
We profess a altruistic loving heart
All the while ignoring
The monster, lurking in the dark

If we can let go of the story
Acknowledge the suffering and pain
There a chance to rise above the instincts
That are causing the most pain

Acknowledge - to live is to suffer
Recognize - conscious awareness is the burden of humanity
Accept the drive within us
Cause that's the truth - and the truth is what sets us free

“We stopped checking for monsters under our bed when we realized they live within us”

Vox Sforzando

I murmur like a rivulet through the
hitch of your hands, where the canyons
carve their parched longing into your fingers—
where silences sublimate like cera,
pooling beneath your glissando touch.

Your tremolo breath convulses rough and low
like sibilant submersion in water—
spilling, sinking, staining everything it meets.
I watch the estuary of your gaze split my horizon—
watch you hush abysmal eyes into
celestially arched surrender.

There is no stillness between starlight,
only the pull of mighty magnitudes,
fuses lit beneath the ribs,
pulses and throbs teaching the air
how to cleave—how to…
sforzando!

Love, here, is neither reserved nor reticent—
it is lightning bottled in glass—
hellfire burning beneath the tide—
language that deconstructs
even as it is uttered.

I step forward—some faltering cadence,
some submitting ascension—placing my hands into your fire,
not to be consumed, but to remember
how stars revel and rain.

God Is Dead

God is Dead?

Hubris, man's nature
A God, self-proclaimed
Nietzsche opined he's dead
Conceit, we laugh and say, no way

Self-professed with special attributes
Sympathy, love, reciprocity; how divine
Exalting our human virtue
So convenient; unfortunately, so blind

We sublimate our consciousness
Valiantly creating a magnificent reality
The audacity
Willfully blind; to only see what we believe

If we were to open up our eyes - our mind
Acquiesce to the grandness, the complexity of it all
Humble
Perhaps we thrive before we fall?

Hubris, mankind's nature
In his image, we reflect piously
Nietzsche opined he's dead - and we have killed him
The narratives not about God - its about you and me

Memories of Them On Memorial Day

Memories of Them On Memorial Day

So many had died from war's long struggle
Over silent graves hear sound of a bugle
While tombstones will exist row after row
We walk through with respect and slow.

Names on each tombstone we have read
For freedom's cause they now are dead
Thoughts remain not leaving me alone
Are soldiers in Tomb of the Unknown.

High in heaven for a while have been
And someday soon will see them again
Say prayers at night then still seems
Memories of them exist in my dreams.

While I wait someone will falsely sublimate
Us Veterans which I always truly hate
Tears to my eyes the thought does bring
They think money can buy anything.

No More Babies

No more babies; not now, not ever,
I want to write and I want to read
And I do like a good film

Please ignore your body clock,
That timepiece in your womb.
I want us to fly like eagles and
Eat out more/we can even do your
Yoga on the carpet floor!

No more nursery, a bit more
Playground please; and perhaps
A touch of artistry when you do
That thing with your knees

I’m looking forward to a new life
Now they’re all grown up,
Perhaps you could sublimate?
We’ll buy a spaniel pup.

So shall we go to bed?
It’s late and I have work; I’m glad
We talked about this thing
I just knew you’d understand
Hmmm?

God's Tapestry

Adornment in man's eye reveals
the ego centered self-concern,
while overlooking God's appeal
is higher, towards the spirit's yearn.

So buckled with contingent seal
the use of kind, elaborate earn,
one glance toward heaven soars to feel
the otherwise appointed learn.

Not finding in my own context,
I must rekindle thoughts adjourn
the height of predicating quest
that measures worth by self-return!

Oh, endless thought were once my prime
today the echoes sublimate
while thee, that once were metered rhyme
now sounds but stifle my relate!

"Tis us, acoustics narrow mate
that selfish monitoring pride,
inhibits thought's accelerate
and toward attention steals to ride.

Did compliment my fond estate
that once outstanding, thee in stride
now force for truth, a run-a-way
is always searching for Hope's bide!

Do cover then my error small
and of my penance not belate
as spacious beauty in enthrall
my overhead, not being rate!

God's tapestry to cover all
the seasons of my love's abate!

International Women's Day

Debates and discourses galore
Trees and rivers are worried
Cruelty and hounding are torrid
A raped morning in the shore

Kindness smiles in the water
It fondles the skin still tender
Flying sands drop by to kiss it
Restive waves come on hissing

Intellectuals in the seminar
Shopping at fifty percent
Online bonanza for women
Pious hopes in the twitters
Success is celebrated globally
Molested school girls scoff at

Flesh is what the quest goes for
Pearls of friendship is a far cry
Sharks of powers and muscles
Untamed high-rise castles

Can’t we have joint umbrellas?
To share a grief or golf stick
Sublimate our glare of control
And avoid hundreds of shipwreck?

Discrimination will go away one day
We will need centuries to that end
Life will be the same celebration
For men and women together

Loose Stools

I seethe with livid rage within the bowels of my being
when sitting upon the porcelain goddess ample defecation doth cling
immediately triggering an internal self hatred

Janus Hearts

Who we are in our minds
To show all others in this time
Janus hearts beat as mine
But what she sells outside is not the true person behind blinds

A smiling face, a light walk
Tells nothing of her true hearts
Everyday the same, rain or sun she moves on
Each day fabricated of the last, never changing, never seeing past, past the way we live our lives in this day and time

Following everyone the same
She tells herself in her mind this it, i do belong
But inside her doubt arise
Clouds her mind and maybe her life is not so sublime
Silent cries go unheard for this life is not as it should

Everything laid to waste because of all the greed and hate
It brings her down, makes her mad
Why can't i just be happy
But this is life and i am well
I should not dwell
Smile and wave happily to everyone she passes

Fitting in, belonging
Fabrication of her longing
this is life, this is mine
Follow in step as everyone else
Agreeing and pleasing so no one can see thy true self

Sublimate her life this way
For an easier life gained
Day after day, week after week, year after year
a decade turns to two
The burden of this simulacra of her life, wears and tears and burns her thru untill there is no light

Dark and cold
forever told
Stay in line and all will be fine
But nothing is fine, all is wrong
We just keep pushing on
No one see's, no one care's
Janus hearts are aware, she wants to scream, scream it loud
But does not dare for everyone would just frown

To belong and get along
Agree to all she see's
To be part of this human race
So her life will not be misplaced
On and on hiding well
Deep inside, buried alive to she herself believe's nothing else

She's Not Her Father's Daughter

she's been told
she's not her father's daughter
but she was sure she was going to the gallows
she sneezes painfully into her radio-kerchief
from her nose flow the viromicrochipics
strange voices fill the air
In crescendo and innuendos
applied imagination flash across the sky
leaving the coated sublimated clouds behind

she bursts into cerebral distortion laughter
then a concerted explosive attack
she swallows teledatum tablets to let herself free
the epileptic enticement is let free
euphemisms sublimate into limpid voodoosolvanics
as she quits the homoid essence
and fly into the word in dispersal

“Poetry is the language of
the soul — where deep emotions
cluster thought and feeling in
a poignant outburst of fond
rapture — and thus, words
sublimate in sacred ecstasy
as the vivid imagination conjures
the art of verse craft.”
                           — Leon Enriquez

Having a Hollowcaust

Having A Hollowcaust

Just thought of this after I saw your category of Holocaust.

With my wife, we were having a hollowcaust
And as I am sure you know, I again lost;
Which superfluous show should we watch today?
She always ends up getting her way.

So according to well-prepared latest scoop
Here I am stuck on profound Poetry Soup
Which to me is most marvelous and great;
It can sedate, satiate and lastly sublimate.

As usual, it is the surrogate same story;
I am having a hard time finding a category;
Maybe all of the times, I am greatly behind;
How about a category called, "Blow Your Mind?"

Which is what my poems seem to do if you
are one of the far and in between few. So far,
so confusing. Right?
