Why I Stutter

fear of talking
sarcasm at me
is that why I stutter?

I'M Stellar When I Stutter

A candy shaped heart
Sweet sounding words "I Love You"
You are mine to taste

A rose there in thorns
Light in Pink Highlights dark reds
Enhanced in True Love

Stuttering my speech
Is it Heaven wrapped Stellar
This kiss you gave me?

Stutter Step, Hands Open, Lights Fade, We Are Nothing In This Darkness

milestones are marked by photographs

by notches on door casings that show just how grown up we are getting

by midnights spent on front porch stoops with people we only half know drinking mixtures that taste as awful as they should but let the words and movements come fast and steady knowing that it's the only time loose lips are the only things sinking ships

We were children growing up in the backseats of parents who rarely spoke to each other

the children who blossomed into the worst love poems we only pretended to read

As children we played games in the backseat
I spy
middle seat smash
guess which song
then, sometime during the middle of awkward slow dances with fresh braces and clothes our parents picked out we stopped getting up early in the morning

we stopped counting down the days until christmas

we started playing games in the backseat
feet tucked or feet spread
windows down or windows steamed
i've never,
that time changed from clueless to reckless to clothesless lasts only the length of a song
the radio cuts out in some spots around French Hill but still plays Freshman by The Verve Pipe

as we close our eyes

mouths open

breath fluttering like heartbeats

we were no longer children
not yet adults but we knew every line to every song we liked and we knew the most honest places we had and what happened when we held our breathe for too long during the bass line

Blond Stutter

Blond, with a stutter was my steady
Plump and firm but cuddly as a teddy
I wanted her so
By the time she said na na na no
I had done it twice already

About a Stutter

If someone stutters that you meet
Just think of it like it's a treat
You might extol
It's a drum roll
Keeping you on the edge of your seat!

Premium Member Stand Up To Stutter

We have chosen a leader who stutters
too many only saw his speaking flaw.
Stumbling over stiff words as he utters
blurring his momentous messages of awe.

Accepting duty makes us who we are
so speak out only for what you believe.
Mounting the tall peaks so as to reach far
in service of others then you achieve.

Some search all around and find the other
so be careful and watch who you eschew.
Greeting each one as sister and brother
trust in yourself to do what you must do.

We wanted values which would help the weak
fill haunting hopes we all so dearly seek.

Tribute to Joseph R. Biden elected President USA in 2020.
He overcame stuttering and promotes virtue and empathy.

Premium Member Treating My Stutter

The book that’s my absolute favorite
is the most effective by far
after all my years of stuttering
having left many a inward scar

‘The treatment of stuttering’ on hardback
written by the renowned Charles van Riper
a former severe stuttered now it’s master
so hoping could be my stuttering wiper

Having tried many therapies in my life
none had much effect upon my tongue
so now in my early 60s one last fling
giving it my all so full must be my lung

CVP was leading speech pathologist
with this book showed his learned light
working out his pre-block modification
hoped this technique be my speaking sight

Now since my study of this therapy
can get coffee on my very own
this indeed is a huge forward step
so now make on to next milestone

The fears of past now receding
thanks be to God for His intervention
directing me to get hold of this book
giving me the way to speech correction

Speech Pathologist and former severe stutterer.)

Stutter and Stuttering

Feeling your breath
Your skin
Your touch
Your hair

Hearing your voice
Your laugh
Your sobs
Your thoughts

Knowing you’re there
You’re near
You’re close
You’re in touch

You’re everything I know
But I wonder why
I still stutter and still stuttering
As I feel, hear, know you.

Stutter

Stutter, wait, see, where it will go, when the season rows. Ah the political rot.
Stay, support, the whispering, forgotten few, those who have not.
Sorry, word none to amend, they are lost, vote not available, duress.
Rich man play, they will stay, these are those who we caress.
Thunder praising, morals remorse, the striking failure we adore.
Violent raising, majority ignored, the will of nothing, worshiping gore.
Come the weekly phase, daily unrest, casting fever, mental test.
Intelligent fading, hate the fest, this I say, will not forget, nor gest.

Love Proposed

He sat beside her in the park bench,
On a beautiful balmy morning,
Breezy and pleasant after a drizzle;
Birds came out of their temporary shelters,
And chirped and chattered and whistled.
A pair of butterflies in a tree nearby,
Fluttered their pink and purple wings in joy,
And danced around each other: a moment
So perfect, he assumed, to propose to her!
She sat gazing at the distant gulmohar,
He took her hand mustering courage
To face her bold and beautiful face;
Then he muttered, stuttered, and finally uttered:
"Will you be with me forever?!"

When My Life Began To Stutter

My life began to stutter, when I began to clutter,
The Garage has taken on the appearance of an electronic graveyard,
No more room now for the car and finding the lawnmower
Yet another chore.
The smell of petrolium products now replaced with with that of rotting Cardboard and damp clothes.
My life began to stutter when I began to clutter.

Competing with the wife for space now getting up my nose,
With fewer places to hide,
A beer fridge now out of the question
And a place to drink it hard to find,
Parties for one the new norm.
My life began to stutter when I began to clutter,.

No more need to set the table just for two,
My appetite long gone before the stove top can be cleared,
Spring cleaning only done when we are short on coins.
My Life began to stutter when I bagan to clutter.

Saying yes to friends in the process of decluttering adding to my clutter,
My only solace that we have nowhere now for the in-laws to stay.
I sit in my one clutteress chair as I go through the list of friends who are Showing signs of clutter with lives about to stutter,
Who can help me declutter so my wife has more room for her clutter.

Poor Putter Who Would Stutter So Did Shutter

went on rampage
they never would act their age
creating much rage

what we always did dread
had nightmares sleeping in bed
more people were dead

when willow did weep
we would count the wooly sheep
soon were sound asleep

behind was facade
our minds they would seem to prod
God will love and laud

in field sheep herder
fence supported by girder
news mentioned murder

such a poor putter
when we had heard him stutter
would often shutter

Premium Member Love Sucks

Single sexy stuttering simple sue,
Loved lean laughing lisping Lou,
She spoke softly slow sentences,
Lou lisped loud without pretences!

Often were out on romantic dates,
By heart and mind such good mates,
Joked and laughed their whole time,
Spoke in stutters and lisped in rhyme!

Said she one day in romantic note,
How do you likke mmmy leather coat?
He laughed lisped “ you loos fo dood!
By that he meant ‘you look so good!’

Days passed, they were ready to wed,
She wanted him one day in her bed,
She made the bold move and asked
If hhhe wwwould stay for breakfast?

He feigned a surprise with a smile,
He pretended about it for a while,
Then with a lisp he said “Yef, I fould!”
With that he meant “Yes! I would!”

That night together in love cocoon,
He opened all his heart to her soon,
To ‘suck’ with her was always his dream,
So she promptly took him out for an ice cream!

For those in love who stutter or lisp,
Here is a message, short and crisp,
If you want to say something inviting,
Do communicate your love, in writing!
