Best Spite Poems
Of fair love I dreamed
Of true love I received-
What rose could be
So sweet?
But now my heart grieves
For the love far from me-
What thorn could be
So spiteful?
T-ill the end of time,
R-emain faithful and steadfast,
I-n spite of trials.
C-omplete the great race
I-n life set by the Lord God,
A-s you obey Him.

In spite of my loving nature
In spite of being an Olympic skater
In spite of my charming way with the ladies
And my absolute love of wee babies
In spite of having a voice that rocks
And looks so dashing wearing just socks
In spite of my hair that's a silvery white
And a tan that doesn't rub off every night
In spite of a fabulous smile I possess
And stunning good looks, yup you guessed
Though I do admit I've got a naughty side
Some of the above, well I might have lied
Especially about looking good in just socks
People at times, they yell and throw rocks
But that doesn't phase me, I know I'm a charmer
Perhaps I should wear a steel suit of armour
It'a all in fun, I'm not really a looker
Forgot to mention, I'm real good at snooker

I know I act annoyed or put out when you call me frequently
during the day in spite of the fact your only doing it because
you miss me. Yet you still place me on a pedestal.
I know at times I complain about something you cooked in spite
of the fact you put in long days and I am at home. Yet you
still cherish me and happily do for me.
I know frequently I have the TV on or the computer, in spite
of the fact you have to get up very early and need sleep, yet
you still tell me it doesn't bother you and to go ahead.
I know at times I ask for things, in spite of the fact we are
short of money. Yet you still do everything you can to see
that I can get and do things I enjoy.
I know several times when something has happened I will tell you that I don't think you love me and that actions speak louder than words.
What a needed reality check. I...who claims they know how to love and give
now realizes that if I am judged by the way I judge others, I need a kick
in the pants.
It goes to show that when one really wants to see a true reflection
of who they are needs to look in the mirror when it's clear...not
when it's fogged over.

Just a little word with
So many guises
Incoherent inefficient ineffective reaction
Inconsistent blame
Vengeful malaise
Conscious disregard
Blameless resolve
Sanctimonious irksome indifference
Creative revenge
Wreckage for sport
Intensive bigotry
Hyperbolic generalisation
Disinterestedness
Complacent autocratic dogma
Crass philistine opportunism
Nimble forgetfulness
Vigorous ignorant diatribe
Impotent nostalgia
All in a day’s work for those
Whose envy knows no bound
No safe harbor free from storms
Only a calm lake resides in the heart,
Surrounded by rugged mountains
And the angry sky with flashing light.
Out of the dark clouds fell rain
Fear abode in the lightening display,
And waterfall tumbled down the mountain,
While animals and people scurried away.
A mother bird built her nest
Safe From the of angry water,
There in spite of the storms she was at rest
In the crack of the rock was a perfect mirror.
With blue skies and fluffy white clouds
Peaceful repose in the midst of crowds.
You held my energies my heart beating in alignment with yours;
Yours truly, displeasures you corrupted your body pure;
I love you in spite of your imperfections your reckless cover;
Self-destruction callous ignoring your inter life’s beauty;
I care for you deeply, though you bring me demeaning;
You won’t stop yourself destruction ways;
You won’t stop misbehaving so I’ll just love you away ALWAYS!

Written words by James Edward Lee Sr. ?2023
I walk towards you with my eyes in a mist
I think of what might be and still i am drawn towards your kiss
Your anger echoes in my head sometimes afraid you might raise your fist
But still i stand and face you in spite of all this
Sometimes i think i am crazy or just plainly drawn in by bliss
I keep comming back when compromise doesnt exist
In the beginning things were great than it took a sharp twist
But i still stand and face you in spite of all this
IN SPITE OF MILING FRUSTRATION
Let not the miles and mile
Downs and frustrates
Our longings and hoarse feelings
As distance is another promise
To remain steadfastly true.
Frustration is wishful distraught alkaline
Keeping us to be alive
Through artificial life sustaining button
Hindrance is an insulin
To be posted from time to time.
If not of the indispensability
Living apart is a dare
Traversing from place to place
Our memories enlivening
As muteness and alexia demise.
Of fruitful vows
To contain and cure loneliness
Communicating is stalling
Homesickness
Drying the tears subside somewhere!
No reason to complain, us North American dudes
We've even got wives with nice butts and boobs
Ten little kids running around
My aching head does surely pound
But in spite of the mayhem I'm still in a great mood

In spite of my efforts…
to Break the relationship…
or efforts to totally Forget about you ...
I still cannot understand why my tears start to break so silently...
something cries deep down in my soul..
Which still could not forget about you
John Wayne would not entertain
self-doubt or indecision
jumped in again and again
with full blown tunnel vision
pure bravado does not stop
mortality's sure advance
nothing can give assurance
we will have that one last dance
not every situation
is cause to pose scream and shout
will be no acclimation
if we can't find our way out
lies turn into bolder lies
words sole purpose is deceit
no use trying to disguise
sometimes we'll take a backseat
unease growing faster now
leering faces seem stranger
no one going to ask how
words led to this much danger
not an outstanding question
of what might make it alright
flat out wrong situation
when lives are taken for spite
cannot simply turn and run
at this point of no return
too much cannot be undone
to dodge permanent downturn
this world's not all black and white
except in minds which are closed
we've all become wrapped too tight
in myths long ago composed
John Wayne would stick to his guns
in those technicolor dreams
but we're the actual ones
coming apart at the seams
"The Spite Syllabub"
The daughter
is not
The mother
Sylvia’s bees were
left milk, bread and butter
Plath by name
but not
the daughter’s path
in evolving nature
not the mother
nor the father
Love for art’s sake
Art not for Love’s sake
Amy G. Dala
a spoonful of honey
taken with the medicine
This is Love
The tincture labelled:
The Spite Syllabub
three measures
the mother, the father, the son
take
swallow slowly
survive
daughter is the legacy
daughter learns to run
a lesson in love
Love for art’s sake
Art not for Love’s sake
Done.

Twas the night after Christmas
Alone with my tinder, ex-spouse
Holed up with this fumigating grouse
Trite presents with her I did douse
Wrapped with old newspaper that she did delouse
With boiling anger she did fumble then browse
From recycled boxes pulled a dingy sweater and moldy blouse
Fueled by spite she began to spew and touse
When to her glee, she my present did espouse
An unwrapped cask of cheap wine, she did uprouse
She intimated that I could now intox and bouse
While she with a better man did carouse
After a few drinks, the blanched holly and mildewing mistletoe did
arouse
A tender feeling for that renovated louse
