In Spite of the Storms

No safe harbor free from storms
Only a calm lake resides in the heart,
Surrounded by rugged mountains
And the angry sky with flashing light.

Out of the dark clouds fell rain
Fear abode in the lightening display,
And waterfall tumbled down the mountain,
While animals and people scurried away.

A mother bird built her nest
Safe From the of angry water,
There in spite of the storms she was at rest
In the crack of the rock was a perfect mirror.

With blue skies and fluffy white clouds
Peaceful repose in the midst of crowds.
