Spaghetti Man

There once was a man with spaghetti for hair
It was long. It was stringy, and it flew everywhere

It was white. It was sticky. It collected in clumps.
It was covered in sauce, and meatballs, and junk.

So I went to the man with spaghetti for hair,
And I said, "Pasta guy, could I ask if I dare?"

I said, "Aren't you embarrased?" and he said, "Not at all!"
He said, "Everyone's different. Some are short. Some are tall.

But I'm one of a kind. And I'm sure you can see,
That in this whole wide world there's nobody like me.

And if I get hungry, and there's no one there,
I just reach up and grab a big bite of my hair!"

The Spaghetti Man

On Wednesday nights there is action in Midtown...
A unique opportunity to serve the Lord has been found.

About a minute past dark the homeless can be seen...
They are looking for food and a good meal is their dream.

A bowl of spaghetti tastes like a banquet meal...
And to some, a hot roll is even a big deal.

The Spaghetti Man and His friends are making their rounds...
And hungry people being fed makes joyful sounds.

A blanket, a pair of socks or even a trash bag...
A clean towel is much better than an old dirty rag.

The Spaghetti Man and his friends are on the streets to serve...
Showing love and compassion without any reserve.

Jesus is with them in Midtown on a dark Wednesday night...
He is part of the team and He is making things right.

This Homeless Chef is touching a life or two...
And he covets the prayers from me and you.

Premium Member Another Bowl of Spaghetti

Our taste buds have gone sad
It is the fault of Dad
Since Mom's been gone
He's feeding us all wrong

Now it's not that we are upset
It's just that we object
For three meals a day
Another bowl of spaghetti

At first we were pleased
We had plenty of cheese
But Mom were about to flip
Come back from your business trip

Dad's heart is right
He thinks his spaghetti a delight
But even chef Boyardee
Had some variety

No use to complain
Every meal is the same
Three times a day
Another bowl of spaghetti

Spaghetti Grandma

Spaghetti Grandma

She scratches her pulpy ruby nose,
Heaves, and leans her heavy bosom
On the pitchfork, dangerously bending
The prongs over the swollen tomatoes.

Trying not to stare at the weary body
Enlarged like a blimp, obediently,
The child’s eyes avert the navy blue smock
Resting on her grey-green eye, the only
window she has left on the world.

She readjusts her horn-rimmed glass
On her nose,
Briskly slips a big copper coin
Into my pocket,

And in a spicy voice
Accented with the fragrance of another sun,
She speaks of another time and place
Magically spinning tale after tale
And my mind is agog and reeling with delight
Filling with the words she feeds me.

Premium Member Fields of Spaghetti

That’s not my elephant, my granddaughter said,
as we came upon them at the zoo.
I asked her how she liked them. She misunderstood.
Why, Paw Paw, I don’t need another one,
I have one already.
Her name is Ella.
Ella what?
Ella phant silly.
Where do you keep her?
In my ‘magination, but she likes my dreams better.
She likes to walk through fields of spaghetti
and toss meatballs with the monkeys.
Fields of spaghetti?
Paw Paw…she drug out, exasperated.
You know it grows on a farm.
How do you know that?
The second graders told us….
They saw it.
I hushed then, thinking as we strolled.
How wonderful it is to grow old
with such imagination and the bill of rights
strengthening our “pursuit of happiness”,
no matter what it may be.

My Favourite Food

The aroma of cuisine fills the air,
Pervading from a steel, simmering pot
With a hissing lid that declares beware
What may it be? I haven’t the lone thought.

My curiosity begins to peak,
I gaze, and observe attentively yet
And round a corner I begin to sneak,
Instantly, I feel a twinge of regret

I raise the lid of the simmering pot,
Steam flees from whatever it is within,
And what’s revealed is not what I had thought
Why it made my smile turn into so wide!

For it was simple gorgeous spaghetti,
With noodles like a wheaty confetti!

Premium Member Spaghetti and Garlic Bread

Steaming spaghetti and garlic bread.
      On a warmed red-checkered plate.
               With aromatic, hot, garlic bread.
For my epicurean tastes is just fine and dandy!
       Would be nice though, if served by a handsome,
                 Italian waiter.
 ~~~~I call that, some ravishing eye candy~~~~
Premium Member Spicy Spaghetti Bolognese
Italian recipes I do absolutely love
especially enticed with some spice
plenty of water at your side
cools the tongue with a little ice
Spaghetti Bolognese is my fav
brings one such Italia taste
takes you back to la Roma
such memories not want to waste
Sitting at your table in anticipation
eyes set with hand on the fork
the waiter comes to your attention
brings the wine unpops the cork
Next the finale the wait's over
the main dish is in front of you
breathe in the succulent flavour
it just looks absolutely beau
Lean beef, onion, garlic, mushroom, chilli
ingredients making it the real deal
of course not forgetting the spaghetti
simply superb stunning what a steal!
Pleasant Chinese Spaghetti
Pleasant Chinese spaghetti;
cooked to resemble
a yellowish smooth earthworm.
To it all children
cry to the hearing
of their mom.
Wow!
Spaghetti
The meat,
the cheese,
the sauce.
The smiles,
the laughs,
the wine.
The music,
the song,
the moment...
The vow of forever!
Then...
You and I,
and the garlic bread!
Go and Live
Y'all
I am just so d#mn happy to be alive
Trees are green!
The ground smells earthy and warm!
Music exists and it's amazing!
My stomach is full of spaghetti
And I bounced on a trampoline today!
I cannot fully express
Just how much
I have fallen in love with life
Premium Member Hymn To the Flying Spaghetti Monster
We worship the meatball-breasted
Slug-eyed One
Who is fragrant with tomato sauce
Who nourishes us well
Liberates us from hunger
For the sake of full bellies
Even while the cucumbers
Ferment in the refrigerator.
