Best Slimmer Poems
Childhood Days
I’d heap spoonfuls of sugar in my tea
I wouldn’t drink it without it you see
That sweet syrupy drink
Wasn’t poured down the sink
Every single drop was supped up by me!
Adulthood
Dad’s diabetes made me think -
Did I need to sweeten my drink
So I cut sugar out
And I don’t have a doubt
I’m slimmer and I’m in the pink

My world is cold and dark and grey.
The sun never shines to be happy and play.
The dark clouds hanging, always loom overhead,
Day after day, I ache with such dread.
No one to love me, not even care,
If I'm hungry or cold or lost somewhere.
I long for a petting, a gentle touch,
From someone that loves me; I long so much.
Each day I look for a rainbow to cross my sky,
A promise of someone that I'll catch their eye.
But as each day closes, hope fades, becoming slimmer,
Darker than night and its shadows, much dimmer.
But in my dreams as sleep overtakes,
I'm off to a land of no tears or heartaches.
In this "World Of Colour" is a rainbow glowing;
The sun always shines, not a cloud showing.
My heart is warmed with plenty of hugs.
I'm not even itchy from the biting bugs!
My bowl is full, garnished with treats;
My water is fresh, not from the streets.
My belly's not hurting from sickness or hunger.
There's someone to hold me when I'm scared of thunder.
A voice so kind of someone I hear,
Pleasant and cheerful, I harbour no fear.
A ball is thrown, a twig, a stick,
For me to fetch and return, reward with a lick.
My tail is wagging, overcome with joy;
Kisses by the dozens, I gladly deploy.
So much love, there's nothing I miss
In this "World Of Colour", this heavenly bliss!
But.. then I awake in the first grey of morn,
And sadly.. I've returned to the land of forlorn.

Ok let's go up to the fire tower, talk with Ranger Ricky, Heh, heh,. What's so funny Harry. When I was a kid we use to watch the Ranger Ricky Show. He would run Popeye the Sailor cartoons and every week He would say "An a very Hap-py Birthday to the viewers."An a very Hap-py Birthday to Harry, he is 8 years old today. He helps his Mom around the house by doing the dishes and sweeping the floors. Morning Rick, morning Harry, I've been expecting you. I have some bad news, the avalanch started at the top of Demons Bluff. Your chances of finding those kids are slim and even slimmer finding them alive. There is some good news, 7 members of Killington Rescue have joined the search. That's great, the four of us have 2 advantages, we only have to climb 50 feet to the top of the mountain. Demons Bluff is on the otherside, down hill with very little snow
for 3 quarters of a mile. What's the secound reason asked Billy. Harry cooks as well
as he knows this mountain, he is an Ace Rick, stop! Alright, I have 5 thermo-laser poles, should we bring the 5th one. Yep, I'll carry it.
To be Cont.

Salad, salad, salad, every day of the year
To keep me thin and trim, it's not working I fear
You'd think by now
I'd be slimmer than a cow
This obsession for Big Macs is really severe

A burger with fries are fit for a king
But it's not gonna lose weight you big ding a-ling
For a slimmer bod
Give a negative nod
To junk food and wind up a 98 pound weakling

She was sixteen when she spied her Cherokee.
Only fifteen, he was young, unsettled, and free.
At school they worked together so each could learn.
Before too long their friendship began to churn.
They blushed into their love; she waited for him.
Three years soon past while dreams flowed over the brim.
His father thought to stop the marriage sentence.
But elders watched them take their independence.
Time blooming with her love lived locked up inside.
The two of them were by new life bound, allied.
One spring night she became his beautiful bride.
Both knew they would forever be side by side.
Yes, they were young, so together they would lead.
Hearts bound by dreams and hopes surely should succeed.
Their family began without much guidance.
The scent of love became days’ sweetest fragrance.
As time grew on, manhood decided to lead.
A mom at home became his family creed.
Three children later and parties held at home.
His work grew slimmer; her Cherokee did roam.
He listened to outsiders and left his throne.
Then, suddenly, she and three kids were alone.
She tried to face all the problems fearlessly.
But ten years later, she lost her Cherokee.

A slimmer glimmer of hope these days.
With thoughts misconstrued and mind's in a haze.
We look for help without reaching out.
For any chance we've got is clouded by doubt.
So we wander the streets hoping Jesus will see.
Through the eyes of an angel to help set us free.
As we fall and just lay there.
Empty of faith and lost in despair.
These souls here on earth who vanish and fade.
Are family and friends whose lot's been betrayed.
And things are not always as they might appear.
You think they look brave, but they live in fear.
A penny, a nickel, a dime or a quarter.
Just isn't enough to appease this disorder.
May God show his mercy in the final hour.
And reign down a miracle in a gentle shower.

It's trying to Spring today
In Dublin's Phoenix Park
The trees are rising from the ashes of Winter
Dressing in a tentative coat of green
Like a thin leafy thong.
Against a bright mixed sky
Two butterflies, or possibly moths,
-The suns' light making identification impossible-
Play tag for supremacy of the skies
Silhouetted in my squinting vision.
A chubby chap with equally chubby dog
Sits on a white bench walking his mate
Spattered by sunlight leaking thru leaves
Of the trees shading his seat
While doggy rustles about happily.
We converse a minute about far off places
And sunburn and the Irish skin
His standpoint underpinned by an anecdote
Remembered from a long time past
A slimmer time for man and beast perhaps.
My wanderings continue in a long lazy lap
Feeling the warmth on my nape
Deer wandering close to the dangerous humans
A childs' laughter carries to my ears
Excitement at the proximity to Rudolphs' pals.
Memories of happier times invade my thoughts
The ninety minutes eaten up with ease
Spring-like humour filtering down to drivers
Who stop, smiling, and invite my crossing
With a ballroom dancers exaggerated hand.
Returning to the island of my car
Feeling distant now from all I've encountered
Warmed from both effort and experience
I smile inwardly and selecting first
Drift out into the Easter Sunday traffic.

Lemon tree very pretty
it was a summer night many years ago
woke, thought I heard the whimpering
of a baby, thought it was a dream,
Woke up again my wife was not there
by my side but in the garden where she
had made a hole under a lemon tree
She put what looked like a shoebox in
the hole filled it in and placed stones
on top of her buried secret. Next day she
didn`t get up stayed in bed for days and
I looked after her but said nothing.
When she got up she looked slimmer
and took up jogging to stay slim.
The lemon tree grew too I got a man to
chop it down but left its root, she got
upset loved this tree and when unseen
wept. I used to long for her to tell me her
secret, but not now with the tree gone
I do not care to know.

Don’t wait to lose that weigh you hate.
Don’t leave it for another week sign up quick its not too late.
And you will become a right, light weight.
Be an angel and don’t you syn
And in your group slimmer of the week you will win.
And we are all you’re journeys soul mates.
The ups the downs we can all relate.
But here at slimming world we are into losing weight.
And your success we celebrate.

isn’t it hilarious
how it is that only tonight
both you and i have come to realize
for years this dinner table
has vastly stood between us
and all that is spread upon it
may never manage to evade the distance
or the partitions blocking me from you.
therefore, i clasp the bowls
filled with withering leaves
colored a dead green
missing their shine
the shine i once saw subsiding in your eyes
the dishes pose to be red
with schallots, carrots, tomatoes and chilli
or morelike love that often bounces of in
conversations between you and me, about other people.
the rice has forgotten how to be the white
that is supposed to break our hunger
fallen into whatever
water in the tall goblets
are wells waiting
for your throat and mine to become rivers,
staircases that shall return him to the sky
to impregnate the clouds again
the fruits long to rot
grow maggots and return to the branches
or they might be missing the knife that stabs
to take them away from the stiffling silence
amidst nonsense talk we share.
what color has yet to find its way to be a table cloth
to make this table look slimmer, to toss away the layers of conversation
drowning us like the fat on our bodies
isn’t it such a pity
how only tonight
you and i have come to realize
the fact that my hand could no longer
offer food to your mouth
nor the other way around.

The hardest door to open
The hardest door to open is the door outside my gym
I think you know the one I mean, the door that lets you in
I meant to go there many times and start my life anew
But breaking down that barrier is very hard to do
Well finally I got there and I opened up that door
And I asked if they could help me lose a stone or two or more
And they made it clear that losing weight and toning up is fine
But you have to do it slowly losing one pound at a time
I was glad I went along that day to Healthy Lady Gym
The members are all sizes down from extra large to thin
Plus members of all ages there with daughters mums and grans
All ages shapes and sizes is the spectrum that they span
They greeted me with open arms and made me feel at home
And kept me focused pound by pound to help me lose a stone
Plus losing several inches off my arms and hips and thighs
Has made me change my wardrobe as I’m now a smaller size
So thanks to all my brand new friends the members and the staff
Who pick me up and cheer me on with banter and a laugh
I’m slimmer and more confident and have a permanent grin
Cos the easiest door to open now is the one outside my gym

WHEN MY TEARS DOESN'T COUNT
A lot question asked, where art thou been
that your lines are but not seen
is all but dire and my light grows deem
whence commeth o lord my dream
can i ever for a day before i die a winner?
o God i'm i the only zionc sinner
can't you give me a hope even though glimmer
even my bone say to my flesh thou art slimmer
does the heaven see my flowing tears?
is it until my eyes close to death-fear
horror in my vain andpain in my ears
o heaven can you kill me soft alike the pears?
i speak of the heavens what of man that don't care
alot saw my tears but never dare
all but wind they strive leaving a brother bare
let earth and heaven hear even though count not my tears
