Best Simmer Down Poems
Sub-titled: What’s in YOUR Fridge?
Please allow me to introduce myself:
My name is Ms. Fridge A. Daire
I stand tall among my lesser cohorts
and MOST of them really look up to me
However, I have two problems:
First, I’m FED UP with my owner
He's always opening my door
reaching deep inside (Oooh yeah!)
helping himself to my goodies
without EVER cleaning me out
or scrubbing me from top to bottom
Doesn’t he know a woman has NEEDS?
Then there’s that stupid stove next to me
who’s constantly flirting and making passes
Says he wants to ‘warm me up’ and ‘defrost’ me
bragging that I’ve ‘got the hots’ for him
which absolutely makes my Freon boil!
Of course, I always give him the cold shoulder
by freezing him with my famous icy stare
and responding, “Simmer down Four-Eyes"
or “I don’t date shorter appliances"
But he’s always cooking up something else...
So I asked my owner to move me to another spot
He said he would if I wasn’t so heavy...HEAVY?
What kind of thing is THAT to say to a lady?
He also claims there’s no other place to plug me
PLUG me? Who does he think I am anyhow?
I found it quite crude and vulgar! ANYWAY...
I suggested an extension cord and he blew a fuse!
Geez, no wonder he’s still single...
Ten is the number to begin
Early in the garden
Gathering herbs, foxglove and more
On her face casual grin
Nine are the ingredients here
Placed in beef stew to simmer
It will be tender, succulent
For his eye will grow dimmer
Eight minutes sear the stew beef
Add some herbs like lemon thyme
Pour in beef broth to simmer down
Let it stew half a day's time
Seven is the count to cook some rice
A soft bed to nestle
Colors a great contrast appeal
Beauty, aroma will settle
Six add carrots, red and green peppers
The slow simmer, leaves crunch
Perfect in shape, color and taste
He will munch, munch, and munch
Five memories of his abuse
Threats, terror, and betrayal
Guns pointed to head even loaded
To public opposite portrayal
Four ladles of stew removed
Add some oleander
To stew on range, and let simmer
Stir the pot, leaves meander
Three flowers from pretty foxglove
Maybe this stew he'll love
Hear his truck come down the drive
Everything's quiet even dove
Two ladles served upon white rice
Her's prepared set aside
Upon a plate over white rice
Stew served that she contrived
One ambulance pulls quietly away
Rushing to hospital
Entirely too late to save the day
A crime? Really Committal?
I watch TV crime stories..LOL
It is not that I do not care
or your worries that I share
Your problems though they be
are not really about me
Sympathy not much
feelings out of touch
Concern forgive my yawn
angry I feel rather calm
Wrong or right
good or bad
let it be
I am sleepy
So stew on for awhile
I am neutral timid and mild
Maybe a nap and after I wake
we can sort it out, see what's at stake
Simmer down and go slow
ease off and let it go
If you blow your top
will it ever stop
Mediocre as it seems
dumb to others sure its deem
but important to you you you
for the hundredth time walk me through.
Wart of hubris, sweat of cursed
Jealous eyes and greed at worst
Blood from pride, tears from pain
Some wretched feelings from disdain.
Sordid juices caused by lust
One liberal dusting of distrust.
A pinch of squander on path to diet
Then splash of anger from disquiet
Two parts grease; on one’s own behalf
Once can of echo, from mocking laugh.
Grind chains of office to subtly blend
Add some waste from overspend
Ignore the stench and simmer down
Wait for pride to rise don't let it drown.
One last step for this magic spell
Free a poison pen with a tip to quell.
A day in my life
She coming out of the bus she has forgotten the umbrella walks
slowly and her face is more African now that she is old,
she uses it as a walking stick, which she says for the aged, I think
my love for her has grown over the years, and I cannot think of
the time we were apart before we met twenty-two odd years ago.
We have Christmas day here and next day take the bus to
a hospital in Lisbon that specialises in hip replacement
We will stay the night in the metropole have good meal and look
at things- for my part rather like a grumpy North Korean leader
then back to my Algarve with trees and big boulders
Tomorrow we are eating at a hotel they are not serving turkey but
Cabrito (goat meat) sauté potatoes and a lot of sweets I don`t care to
know about; since I`m driving only water or tomato juice.
It is an ordeal for me to be among people I don`t know I will take 5 ml
of Valium, it will keep me calm until I simmer down and laugh at bad jokes
as told by an exhibitionist. We can`t stay long since we are living in the morn
On a short walk outdoors I saw my dog she walked beside me I bent down
to pat her head but she saw something and ran into the bushes I called her
name; Bambi come here when it dawn on me she had been dead for ten
years and it made me think of my own mortality, but not in a gloomy way.
Sun, blue sky and stillness now the hunters have gone drinking in a cafe,
but the visit from Bambi perked me up so did a cup of coffee when coming
home, nothing out of the ordinary yet, I persist on dreaming of tomorrow
This is not a battle for gold
Nor it is a battle for the belly of any might.
This is a crusade to restore a hope, a pasture, a future for our scion.
Farther east in the matebele, beyond the ribbon of mountains
The sorcerers' eye sees a feather of an eagle stooping down backs of nimbus .
The odds loll in the palms of our gods.
And today, was coloured by whom holds the brushes of creation.
We will plunge our feet into the loam of soils of war
And wage our lives for a price.
Legendry will be carried by the winds that comb our lands.
The veil is unfold, our five fathers await.
Countrymen, warriors, farmers and hunters;
Armour up your buffalo skins
Beat the leather of your chest; summon your guts
Draw your bows; and feel the womb of redemption along their arch.
Dance your spears high;
And see the blades split freights of gleam with every turn.
Raise the bulk of your axes;
Watch their heads dent the tan of the sun.
The clattering of weapons; will swing open the blood gates
The lands will flood, ashes will be washed
Smoke, dust and their woollen clouds will simmer down
But honour with sip into the earth.
A grainful of us will fall into a slumber
From which our children's children will awake.
But for that handful, very well, I beg of you to live on
Clinge not to logs of sorrow painted with tears.
Live on; I beg of you to live on.
You think that you can cage this phoenix and expect my flames to simmer down,
In hopes that the heat that is extracted from my aura is diminished.
But you are misinformed and mistaken.
Thinking that you can assume my kindness is weak, along with my ability to forgive, and how your impact continues to apply to me.
How arrogant you are.
When you least expect it, this emotional cage of healing and memory I’ve been in begins to melt with my fire of evolution and rebirth.
You will stand back, completely in dismay, on how this once tame, sweet, and loving bird of the mystical type, will show you her ugly.
To you, it’s unwelcome, for it tests your impression of me that I’m still willing to be imprisoned by your manipulation and passive aggression.
You tried to figure out my magical powers by talking to others in my circle,
Only to find out that they are mystical flyers as well, defending themselves from your kind.
Birds of a feather flock together,
A fire is suffocated when you don’t give it oxygen.
I know deep inside you are the one who is running out of resources,
Let alone fresh air to breath.
Your toxic and volatile habits only give my wings power to fly circles around you.
Take the scorch like a man,
For this fiery phoenix is starting a new life without you.

Shake; shake do the shake n'
bake, got me another round of
hot sauce love bang; Bang!!!!
Quick to jump the bamboo
stick, given it a whirl of double
pleasure gets you off by
any doubts that I can blow your
mind.
Which now is fully bloomed
with excitement as we come
tunneling in a pure inticimy
earthquake, between the
sheets...
Where I've raddled your cage
through the jungle of my hut,
You can no longer excape: So
gore this thirst full erge to hunt
for prey to eat as I catch you
Apon this journey...
Hoping to pounce on you, roll
you around the field in secrecy
to simmer down the heat and
rise among the sun right by
your side with a steamy shake
n' bake love bang; bang Yeah you
Know you want some; So come
On And get me.....if you can!!!
why do i sit here
all scared and stuff
if you asked
me why? i'd say
i don't know
is this the quiet
before the storm?
if it is, lets get on
with it because
i don't like it.
i should not be
scared of anything
after what i have
gone thru these
half-passed of
lately.
darling, help me
to understand
how you can be
so loyal when i
am so unloveable
i want to be very,
beautiful for you.
please, please make
everything alright and
do all the things that
you do to make me
SIMMER DOWN.
so, now i do lay
me down to sleep
and i keep creeping
closer to you all night
as you sleep as if
you haven't
a care in the world
and i just worry.
to my beloved, janetta
I think it's time for me to go now but I'm without a place to go
and I'm too stubborn to move
I think it's time for me to simmer down; I would agree because I can
hardly feel the blood flow in my right hand
This is still so touch and go that I'd rather play the part of a half ghost
since sometimes I feel the need to just be invisible
And I'd rather take that opportunity sooner than later
I'm not in the mood to work
I'm only willing to write and write what's left of me
Though there can't be much left
This must be how Danny feels
is this how Danny feels
This must be how Shadow feels, is this how Shadow feels
This must be how Matt feels, is this how Matt feels
so hopeless, so confused, so full of rage
How can I get over this
when I still want my one chance guarantee that hasn't expired yet
Yeah it's true; I haven't been the happiest man alive
for quite some time now
But how can I be with all these mountains towering over me
I don't need help, I need a way
but I'd rather be a ghost today and recollect my thoughts
I lost my cool yesterday and today
only because I hate the way
this unsung heart keeps driving me, wanting me to be in the same
boat she's in
Just with her only
so can I be a ghost today
I'd rather be a ghost today
than the self destructive mess I call myself
It was dark. So dark you could barely see,
And I was there, under the sky, and I was so free.
It was a moonless night,
And the wind blew with fierce might.
The flickering diamonds illuminated the sky,
I wondered how far they are, and so high.
With my heart throbbing against my chest I see,
See the chaos of the world simmer down and you standing in front of me.
'Why have you come?' I ask but you don't reply,
You took everything away from me and I don't understand why.
Does robbing someone of their peace give you happiness?
It isn't a noble work you know? Just a touch of nastiness.
Under the star studded night sky,I stood facing you off,
The wind makes me shiver and you sneer and scoff.
I take my time to observe your silhouette,
That's when I notice the knife. You've come to kill me and you won't even regret.
You start walking, making your way towards me,
I ponder over my dilemma; should I give in or flee?
I turn to run away and you catch me in your arms,
For a fleeting moment I recall the days I gave into your charms.
How you used to hold my hand, how you used to seize my lips,
Now you touch to wound me. Oh! Your failed hands, your bloody finger tips.
You press me close and put the metal through my heart,
Like a shadow you came and like a shadow will I depart?
You cut me open and took my heart and held it in your hand,
Now I know what my worth was. Now I know where I stand.
You took my heart, you left me to bleed,
You left me to die, insipid.
And as you part without a second glance,
My strength shatters and I crack out of my miserable trance.
Resting my head on the pillow full of gore,
My unbent faith intact no more.
I stare in lieu at the flickering lights in the sky,
Comprehending about the iniquity that may never die.
Simmer down and relax a little, engage that frown don't be so brittle, people say I'm worth a bit more, out of ten I'd give me a four, don't be cryptic or complicated,I'll have it pure and stipulated, get me high while hope is low, embrace my depth from a cloud to my toe.
Folks,
Look to what's right and just, not man-made rules,
Keep wary of constituents who cater to fools,
Count not on so-called friends, count on your next breath,
Breathing ominous volumes of understanding curbs the tides
of mental death,
Accompany reason and not just the goodness of the flesh,
Flesh carried unwanted weight, unload that freight,
Seek sage counsel, instant joys that dominate,
Lurk lifelong regrets that illuminate, clean that slate,
Slate out your life expectancy as time carries
no consistency on history except results,
Resulting in fates' consequence, tap into your conscience,
Chivalrous pleasures lead to frivolous treasures,
Leaning on principle speaks surmountable measures,
Measure-up not to other's expectants,
nor simmer down with forgone reluctants,
Understand the value of the priceless and useless,
The hopeless and the ruthless amount to the fruitless,
Rewards from the rootless, lest you flock like aimless sheep,
Can wanders thread fires or scale mountains in leaps!
Forgotten to the motherless that weep,
After midnight will you be left behind asleep?
Acknowledge virtue, honor, and valor,
And never give in to needless squalor,
A man's actions are his final judge,
Judge not, lest you fall to a dreary grudge,
Focus on neccessities, and not what you want,
For this is great lessons paramount!
Simmer down and relax a little, engage that frown don't be so brittle, people say I'm worth a bit more, out of ten I'd give me a four, don't be cryptic or complicated,I'll have it pure and stipulated, get me high while hope is low, embrace my depth from a cloud to my toe.
