Best Second Chances Poems
My heart is overflowing
With a love that just keeps growing
Lighting the path toward hope
Leaving me weightless, like a feather
More alive because we’re together
My mind is filled with joy
Laughter and love, amazing power
Whispered to the heavens
On the rays of lemon sunlight
Reflected in the stars
As they twinkle through the night
Exciting the sapphire skies
My thoughts are flooded with
Joy, feelings that simply destroy
The shadows that might harm
That sinking feeling of wrong
The darkness in the storm
Your presence is like a promise
Assuring me of the happiness
That flows through my veins
Uncovering the whisper of grace
My dreams are sometimes alive
With the brilliance of intimate skies
Filled with hope and faith
Colored in hues of silent prayers
Awakening the soul to its praise
To a Father who brings out the way
Toward freedom, redemption
Salvation and the second chance
That comes from giving in to His wisdom
And leaning on the word, the One
Who guides our hearts toward home
My heart is bursting with radiance
Vibrant twists and turns
Of laughter, joy and truth
Brought alive by the sounds of goodness
Discovered on the wings of mercy
Brought to life inside where I know
There is only this hope, this belief
That God is alive and He brings peace
Beyond understanding, a shining
Example of His love, His kindness,
His wisdom and strength
The reason He gives us all
A second chance
He is a God of second chances
A God of light and laughter
A God of redemption – filled with
The zeal that will thrill spirits
Send tingles of fulfillment
Wake up the sleeping soul and kindle
A reason for living on the edge
Of a sincerity, a serenity – a faith
That gives from the depths of its place
Amid the worries and sorrows and reasons
To let go of this opportunity
To share God’s deliverance with those
Who need, most of all, to hear of Him!
Jesus is the reason for every thought
Every feeling on the heart
Every desire from the soul
The rich and brilliant hope that flows
Through veins that are alive with
Sensations of sweet faith
Salvation comes – not to those who wait
But to those who repent and praise
Those who know Jesus brings a second chance!
He never really thought about it nor did he see reason to care
Life was about true grit and he knew damn sure it wasn't fair
As he had made it this far and never needed anybody's hand
He didn't just wish upon a star but everything he had planned
As he was driving along, he suddenly jammed on the brakes
Something had went wrong and really that is all it ever takes
It was a really horrible scene and he almost didn't survive
He thought the light was green, this on just a simple drive
When the man did finally awake it was a very slow process
Let there be no mistake many issues he had time to address
See the man had clinically died as the doctors tried to revive
As once again they tried, but that is not why today he is alive
He won't talk about his own story but today he's very different
About seeing some Glory, I don't even know what he even meant
He"s not the way he used to be, no he's just not the same guy
But now he is actually nice to me so who am I to ask him why
Do you believe that second chances are a way to mend what was broken?
Apologizes are not easily accepted and hardly ever spoken.
Suppose you we’re given another chance to undo all your past mistakes.
Would that alter your life’s fate?
A lot times in my life I wonder where do I belong,
Especially, after I undo all my past wrong.
In life we make a lot of mistakes but we shall learn from them all.
Whether, they are big and small.
Sometimes the truth will never be revealed.
Sometimes the wounds doesn't find time to heal.
It only takes a deep desire to try with all our heart.
It does not take a new day to make a brand new start.
Giving another chance without having a revengeful mind,
It shows humanly compassion and always remembers to be kind.
“Sometimes life gives you a second chance, or even two! Not always, but sometimes. It’s what you do with those second chances that counts.”
? Dave Wilson
Somewhere down the line,
When everything seemed fine,
I slipped and had a fall,
Oh! It was great, not small;
I tried, but couldn't get up,
And was feeling truly fed up,
I asked God with a frown,
"Why did You let me down?"
He smiled gently at me,
And said, "Don't you see?
You are on the wrong road,
The way is way too broad."
I cried loudly with fear,
"How did I end up here?"
"You started on the Narrow Way,
But took diversion the other day."
I knew something was amiss,
But had been lost in temporal bliss;
I'd sinned more than I could count,
Day by day, they seemed to mount.
I wanted to throw that all away,
Return to the good old Narrow Way;
Would God forgive and accept me back,
As I try to re-enter the right track?
Would He embrace an erring child?
So unclean and so defiled?
I repented and asked pardon from God,
Never to enter the way too broad.
He heard my prayer and helped me stand,
I walked back with Him, hand-in-hand.
I realised something that made me wonder--
"If only we are willing to surrender...
Surrender ourselves and our circumstances,
Our God is a God of second chances;
If we let Him take the lead,
He will meet our every need;
He'll guide us in the correct way,
And He'll be our strength and stay."
I looked up at Him and widely smiled,
Wasn't I happy to be called His child?
He nodded and said, "Do sin no more,
Until you reach the other shore."
I promised Him that I would not,
'Cause my life had taken a whole new start.

(An experience which can happen to any of us in this tempting world)
There's something I must confess
I have made the biggest mess
And I'm sorry as can be
Begging you to forgive me
Standing her with my regrets
Hoping something in you lets
My apology be heard
Knowing your heart is badly hurt
There's no way I will stop trying
To repair a heart that's dying
From the error of my ways
I must live with everyday
When I left without a trace
Tears falling on your sad face
Not knowing the why or where
The decision to disappear
Was a choice I can't undo
Knowing what I did to you
Will haunt me forever more
In memories that will be stored
Always there to remind me
My past and bad history
Isn't fair to put on you
You've never left me black and blue
But I got scared enough to flee
Thinking you'll do the same to me
I'm emotionally mental
You've been nothing except gentle
Now I'm looking in your eyes
Begging for just one more try
Praying, wishing, hoping still
There's a piece of love that will
Be inside you somewhere deep
And it somehow starts to seep
Through your soul, body and mind
Then maybe you just might find
I am here to stay forever
No mistakes will be made ever
Tomorrow is a lie and the lie of tomorrow is
There will be a second chance to say
All the I love you’s and miss you’s and
Everything that needs to be said
The lie of tomorrow rings with truth
All the words left unspoken and never heard
Whispered affections that will renew
Long lost relationships and connections
To you who is lost in transition
A wayfaring stranger to truth
Will there be another chance, a possibility
Of tomorrow or will it simply be
The lie of tomorrow to keep you company
Through the years.

How many fools who know my name
And what I do will dare
Walk with me and talk to me
As if, for me, they really care?
None, I used to think
Would be stupid enough to try
To put up with the fool who often
Turned his victim's blood to clothing dye.
And even when you approached me
I thought you friendship was a lie
A ploy to torture the psychopath
Who doesn't care when people die.
Surely, you weren't naïve enough
To think I deserved a second chance.
Baby boy, I've killed so many,
Even with death, I'd kissed and danced.
But you were, innocent little insect,
And even if you say you hate
Me, how many heroes would give a murderer
The chance to change for great?
And the hopeful way you talk about me—
It makes the boxes — and me — go insane
Because I believe, somehow I think,
I can make up for all the pain.
Imagine a life, without worry or hurt, without sadness or happiness, without love or hate, without trust or loyalty, life doesn't have existence , life is a gift, we should treat it with self-respect, and dignity, becuz without all these things, life stands still... In darkness mistakes are what make us and defines us all, to learn great things, to take second chances for our selfs, to greatly teach others especially our youth, that there is life at the end of a rainbow, which is a symbol of new life an new beginning.... As We reconcile, with faith for god.....Unity n' Peace, I reprehend that we all take one for the T.E.A.M.

We shared moments of affection before we changed our minds. Now, we stand here contemplating if we should try it one more time.
The years behind us have been merciful through our trials and tribulations, making our lessons learned well and releasing any expectations.
Now, I see you with my soul and not only my eyes. In this way, I'm dedicating myself to second-tries.
The road may not be easy, but it's worth a go to me. I'm just not satisfied with you being only a memory.
So, take my hand and hold my heart; for, I'm giving it to you, hoping that together we find something new and true.
And on our journey now, we'll have God to guide the way, giving us a second chance starting fresh today.
Thank you in advance for the special times we'll share, ever growing in showing ways in which we care.
The sun is shining brighter than I've ever seen before only upon deciding to dance through this next door.
Let's not be afraid to say I love or feel; but rather, embrace the moments that we have yet to steal.
And in the time to come, we'll learn that this is right, so baby let's get going and hold each other tight.
Snowman - Eighty Dollar Legend
Through gales of howling snows
Three horses in the knackers van,
Auction over;
Two with eyes cast down to meet their fate in frozen tears
But one, head raised up high - living fire still in the eyes of eight years past,
Engages delayed latecomer to the sale to manifest a spirit jumping out -
Standing up on wounded knees and harness scars upon smooth cheeks.
Not ready!
Not ready for the final bridle path!
A message screaming in the blizzard's screams!
Hands born with equine wisdom in their fingers
Reach to touch the muscled frame,
This plough horse clothed in a humble coat of frozen white,
How much!
How much for this horse?
Eighty dollars whistles through the teeth of the wind.
Just enough! Enough!
Two strangers peek out around the future's corner
To grab tomorrow's hand held out.
New name – a memory for the day of resurrection;
New home - a paradise for a life reborn through children’s hands –
New meadows – second chances
New arenas - soaring over hurdles to thoroughbred's applause.
A plough horse who defied all odds
Now a legend - celebrated jumping horse who wears a trip crown
Snowman - eighty dollar champion who loved the heights -
To fly!
Dedicated to Henry de Leyer and Snowman the horse he rescued on a snowy winter day who became American Horses Association Horse of the Year, Professional Horseman’s Association Champion, Champion of Madison Square Garden’s Diamond Jubilee – the Triple Crown of Show Jumping.
They think everything is perfect when the baby's out.
But the Dads so messed up he should be in a crazy house.
The dad doesn't take part in his children's lives.
But in his children's eyes, He drinks to get rid of the pain inside.
He sits there drunk watching baby crawl around the floor.
Baby hasn't eat'n since his mom left the door.
And the baby gets beat'n for his family being poor.
Child protective services couldn't help them anymore.
So mom comes home from work'n real late.
The pay aint real great, 9 an hour with no break.
So the mom goes straight to the medicine cabinet,
Because the moms just a junky with a medicine habit.
Four o'clock comes around one boy opens the door.
See's Dad drunk on the couch, baby crying on the floor.
He runs upstairs and stairs in the mirror.
Asking god why life isn't right, Why life isn't fair.
Why does his family have to live like bums and savages.
Why does his family's income way below average.
Why do all the cool kids in school get to have nice clothes and fresh kicks on?
Why does he walk through the halls at school and always get picked on?
But its ok because he has a specific date on the calendar.
Where he walks through the halls at school,
and shoots all the cool kids and the counselors.
This is the product of a life without real family or friends.
But at the end of the day this is just all pretend.
He wouldn't actually go to the school and shoot all of the kids.
Its not all there fault for the way his life is.
He's frustrated, He's hungry, but his family has no money.
He's tired of eating government cheese and expired lunchmeat.
This is it, He's decided, his soul feels like a mix of a massacre and a riot.
So tired of trying.
Deep thought about dyeing.
Finally grabs his dads gun and starts crying.
Drops down to his knees and puts the barrel into the hole of his mouth.
He has to pull the trigger because there's not another way out.
This bullet is for anybody who called me wimpy or tempt me.
*He squeezes on the trigger*

It was Empty. Second Chances.
A Dreamer Gazed In Agelessness
In the midst of chaos love relinquished its reign
A plethora of weakened senses pounding within
Like clouds we drifted apart abandoning heaven
Remorsefully begged that an amnesty be given.
If Eden is illusion is there another I can behold?
Visions blindsided by this apathetic frigid world.
Do missed chances lose spark unlike pure gold?
May not buy their way out of loneliness tenfold.
Who can say for certain if one's luck takes hold?
Fate insists that the answer must never be told.
Doubt incites desperation as she began to weep
To ameliorate her grief, I ascend a canyon steep
A dreamer gazed in agelessness counting sheep
Dazed as hearts tenderly reunites in their sleep!

Didn't think I would be back here but then again it's like I get another chance to react differently and subliminally I get to handle it another way, what a day I'm not even gonna lie it hurt but I recognize your worth and I still believe you're the one who can fulfill my needs because it's you who I want, I can't front so when I turned my back I always looked back hoping you would too but also prepared if you never did, you don't have to be scared to fall for me I'll catch you that's a promise, I honor you enough to take it slow and respect you enough to let our love grow even when we're apart. I don't wanna start over let's pick up where we left off, our kids playing together me losing myself in your most deep inner thoughts. We deserve each other. We both been down the road that leads no where, but when I'm with you I don't have a care in a world, you're the girl I never thought I'd get but now I'm scared to lose. And now that it seems like we both have a second chance at love my only question is do you feel the same way I do
Second Chances
~~~*~~~
Her heart is broken, his leaving unbearable,
her world is a fog, that she can't see through.
His heart is aching, her soul is frozen, all she wants is to see through the sadness.
The endless pit she's falling for, how long will this yearning last?
She wish's that her heart was made of cast,
to shield her from the fire burning deep within.
Will she ever be free from his shadows? Will she ever learn how to love again?
Waiting as she takes those first steps to a new journey.
The winters come and the summers pass by,her life redirected along comes a guy.
Her walls are up, so cautious for release,treating it carefully and longing for peace.
For one last time
I got to tell you to quit this
Im overusing the life once lost
Is so fun to be high
But so sad to see it fade
My life ain't yours
But this lithium is so prudent
I love the feeling
Hate the goodbye
So again i shot myself with the drug
Tell me welcome back's
Is not my mistake you brought me here
Get over it
Im sure to find a solution after the drug effect goes off
Im glad your not home
I hate you so much
Is the day i wanna sleep
I die and you'll happy right?
Im not alone in here
Infinite party
Dance the motions out
My mistake to overuse this
Third time overdosed
Don't worry
My friends ain't here but they will be next time
At my funeral
Im glad you love me darling
Is so good to know i have one besides me
No one left to dance with
Now death takes me because im not staying here alone
Is my life
So as mines i choose when to end it
I got room to dig
I got power to kill
But not to survive
Is this how you feel Father?
