THE ROSE

T~hirty-two steps through the yellow-green grass led me to you.
H~aving to choose which one; my heart with no doubt chose you.
E~very rose bloomed quite differently, though nothing meretricious like you.

R~ed is known to be the favorite color to man; color blinded; my soul desired you.
O~f all the roses, my senses were captivated and comely to you.
S~ome men may pick more than one rose; but, I only want you.
E~ven mother nature so pulchritudinous can't compare to you.

SUBLIME

Sublime
I've been shedding snakeskin...
so blind
I've been destroying the noise
my worst enemy

Deconstructing my identity
soaking shoulder deep
in oceans of humility
feasting upon fruits of tranquility

breaking shackles
freeing ankles
from bloody mud puddles
razor blade anxiety

rising to a place
where yesterday
flees irrelevant
tomorrow
is insufficient

Yet
this moment
of SUBLIMITY
right now...
forever remains
a fearless paradise

Ink spills purposely on paper
forming letters of certain alphabets
to vowels and consonants.
Though speechless, one puts
forth effort to enunciate and
pronounce aloud the syllables
carefully to articulate loves interest.
Do you
want to
be my
one
and
only
Love Interest?

~ Linda-Marie The Sweetheart of P. S. ~

When it comes to a friendly hi!
One of the best poetry, hearts we can't deny!

Our Sweetheart Linda Marie
No one is smoother and sweeter than her- our peach tree

Always stopping by to say hi, no matter, rain/sleet or snow
Her contest Zany Zoo, one of the soups best show

A woman who never judged me from the start
Linda Marie, thank you for being such a sweetheart

Sharing her delightful poems, a double doze for me
Oh Me- Oh My- That woman can write so much poetry!

I am sure she is loved by the poetry soup staff
LOL! How this blonde bombshell made us laugh

Remember, when she took her laptop to a sandy Island
She smiled, and shared, how the laptop was damaged with so much sand

Hanging out with Linda, it's like singing "Kumbaya my Lord"-- I felt her holding my hand
How sweet of Linda, when she invited us to meet her new Husband?

Linda Marie is loved by her very own BBF team
Letting us know, life has been more than a dream

Her heart so big, she worried when her BFF's weren't around
Leaving notes, making sure we have not hit a poet break down

She keeps us in her heart when we are not logged in
Her beautiful and clever/witty poem will forever remain

Most of her poetry made me smile
Linda Marie's poetry had so much Style!

We prayed for you when we heard about your son
Thank you for sharing your faith in God. -Linda You're #1

A poet I highly recommend
Linda Marie my poetry soup best friend

land of lost shadows
and unweathered skies

five urban colours
through unflinching eyes

tall distant chimneys
and schoolyards at play

smoke drifting sideways
in stillness each day

sketches on packets
of stained cigarettes

strange brooding faces
and marionettes

people bent walking
with heads looking down

 - if lowry was living
he'd have painted my town.

Let the night embrace you with honey dreams,
Where you find your beloved dressed in tangerine,
She promises love and you kiss her marmalade lips,
The trust you longed for, in her titian eyes is seen.

In the saffron valley where good things happen,
She sings to heal all your inner rustic wounds,
She offers you sip, from coral river of happiness,
And you believe her and listen to salmon sounds.

With bright orange sunshine, new day begins,
You hope someday, your orange lady you will find,
Your heart blooms like the young marigold,
Life seems beautiful, amber fears are left behind.

Attitude can be nurtured and changed
By you in spite of what has happened in your day
Confident people master it quickly
Despite what they are enduring
Enthusiasm is a side benefit that
Fosters team work positivity and friendship
Give yourself a break if you
Have had a bad day. We all have them.
Inspiring videos, loving people and supportive friends
Jokes, funny TV shows, and hobbies might help.
Kindness to friends is wonderful, but
Loving them is not as important as loving yourself.
Many do not give themselves this important gift.
Naturally you want the best for others and your family
Outrageous as this might sound, you must
Positively become your OWN best friend first.
Quiet yourself and give yourself this all-important gift.
Rusty as you might be, find your strengths.
See yourself in the best light. Encourage yourself.
Treat yourself with the same empathy you
Utilize with others, a good friend, or a cherished neighbor
Vigorously appreciate your talents and gifts.
Wisest of the wise recognize the
‘Xceptional logic of doing this and often.
You will immediately reap the awards.
Zesty excited attitudes encourage others, please encourage you!

Over the mountains
Sun shines in all its splendor
Beautiful trees stand out tall
Birds assemble there
Eagles soar right to the top
Wild flowers covers the ground

Blue mountains stand grand
Deers and bears roam all around
Eyes can't get enough nice scene
All trees seem to glow
You can feel God's loving touch
Breathe in enjoy all the view.

~ Grandfather's Clock ~

My old grandfather had a clock
It wasn’t a grandfather clock
A clock it was that went tick tock
It sent me mad grandfather’s clock
Till once I hit it with a wok
But it was steady as a rock
And then it laughed and said cuckoo
A little bird went out and in
It said cuckoo bee bow and boo
Then I took aim and threw my shoe
It ran in fast and closed the door
Of old grandfather’s cuckoo clock
I had enough of all its cheek
I had it planned to glue its beak
So then I sat on wooden floor
And waited there, looked at the clock
Grandfather’s clock that went tick tock
I sat there long and fell asleep
Then I woke up and had a peep
Grandfather’s clock was under shock
It was tongue tied, not one tick tock
It hung in silence on the wall
There were no echoes in the hall
How strange it felt now that the clock
Had lost its voice, no tick no tock
The little bird made not a sound
No sortie out, no bee no boo
I missed that tiny red cuckoo.
Like a spoilt brat I'd moaned and whined
The way I acted was unkind!
Then I sat down, felt bad inside
I was ashamed. I cried and cried!

As my tears fell I heard tick tock
The friendly sound of grandpa's clock
To cap it all the red bird flew
out of the door and said cuckoo!

First heard the call when three.
Pet store said come and see
and mommy did agree,
every child should have a puppy.

Wanted to get you all the toys,
while blue still ok for boys,
even got us perking and tilting to that noise.
Just before the pounce — the poise.

Made a promise to care for you,
to teach tricks and every clue
in our own nickelodeon blue.
No tics or fleas thanks shampoo
and from under the couch — your favorite chew.

Your doctor is called a vet
for the shots you have to get.
They know the best for a pet
and in time after you have met,
you’ll be all set.

Got to train you to potty,
all dogs start out with just squatty,
but boy dogs learn to pee like they’re doing karate.
Check the floors and don’t step the parts spotty.
Can’t hold it for the first six months — so you’re not naughty.

But soon, after the years go by,
chasing the winter hare and summer fly,
they say like by sevens my
years will have you why
slower but still to try.

You’ll never grow up — just old,
stuck on two for fifteen behold
one hundred and five candles blown cold.
Wag your tail all the way to Heaven and told
don’t need a soul — just a part of God’s mercy to hold.

"Mama, I apologize on both knees,
And never again will I ever say
More about how your "D"lightful girls lay,
And I beg you for your forgiveness, PLEASE!
Surely, I appreciate what I see!
Keen eyes can hunt for them every day,
And can observe them in every way,
Traveling an extreme distance for free.
Perhaps that could be why you are married,
Or, your personality could be it!

Truly believing in a perfect fit,
Regarding the "twins" that you have carried.
