Ryan, Where Are You

Ryan, Where are You?

Oh Ryan, please tell me, where are you?
I'll never forget that tragic summer of August 1992,
when you left without even bidding a final adieu –
not even a single wave good-bye,
just leaving us high and dry.
How could you just simply disappear?
Like a dark shadow, in a grey mist...not really there?
Gone to heaven or God knows where?
My dear Ryan, did you think we really wouldn’t care?
One day you're enjoying the sunshine, doing so well;
the next day buried in a cold grave where you now dwell;
You always said that tomorrow’s not promised to anyone.
Now, you’ll never get to see another glorious sunset or dawn.

I heard you were run over by a Brooklyn-bound train.
But neither the police nor the coroner could adequately explain -
was your death instantaneous or did you suffer any pain?
Please help me to understand - who’s to blame?
Please tell me - was it just an untimely death?
Please explain to me - was it just your fate you met?
At birth, did the Three Fates your destiny set?
Or were you just in the wrong place at the wrong time...
an innocent bystander who hadn’t committed any crime?
When Atropos cruelly severed the thread of your short life,
the incredible pain of losing you cut deep like a butcher’s knife.
But, my dear brother, your treasured memory will be with us always,
through your children and in our hearts ‘till the end of our days!

Slamming Ryan Emerald (The Final Assault)

Everyone in the soup chant my name, because I'm bringing another poetic attack.
Ryan, you've had your 5 minutes of fame, now I'm breaking your poetic back!
So you need to be realistic, read your slam, then read mine.
I'm what people call "futuristic," because I'm a poetic Einstein!

I told you in a soup mail, when it comes to slamming, there's no competition!
P.D. has you under her spell, like she's programming an air=condition!
See I know why you stepped to the plate, you were looking for some recognition.
So your poetry I'll gladly annihilate, with your mother P.D.'s permission.
Why bother to even retaliate after my slam's left you in such a condition?
With your poetry you can't intimidate, because you haven't enough ammunition!

I hate a poet who thinks they're good when they really could use some practice.
If I could, I would beat you silly with a Texas cactus!
This isn't right of me, but Ryan you must not have had a clue,
That my slam poetry will utterally consume you....
Engulf you in a poetic inferno, and leave you a smoldering heap!
What-do-you-know!? It's a T.K.O.! And I've put Ryan to sleep!!!!

Note: This is why I don't want to slam with you, No offense, but I have to focus on your idol
P.D. So run back to her with your tail between your legs and tell her my filing cabinet is full
and ready;)

Ryan

maybe it was the rain
maybe it was the curve
maybe it was the rush
maybe it was the swerve
maybe he didnt buckle in
maybe he sped
maybe he didnt know he would be leaving us...

maybe.

THEY SAY YOU ARE THE K-KING
I DON'T BELIEVE A WORD
SOMEONE SAID YOUR FASTBALL
WAS THE BEST HE EVER HEARD
THEY SAY YOU HAVE A FASTBALL
THE FASTEST OF THEM ALL
SHOW ME YOUR BEST FASTBALL
I'LL DRIVE IT OFF THE WALL
THEY SAY YOU HAVE A NASTY CURVE
ENOUGH TO BACK'EM DOWN
SHOW ME YOUR BEST NASTY CURVE
I'LL TAKE THAT PITCH DOWN-TOWN
THEY SAY YOU HAVE A CHANGE-UP
THAT LEAVES THEM WAY OUT FRONT
SHOW ME YOUR BEST CHANGE-UP
I'LL TEACH YOU HOW TO BUNT
THEN I STEPPED UP TO THE PLATE
I HEARD THE UMP CALL STRIKE
I DUG IN JUST A LITTLE MORE
THAT CURVEBALL TOOK A BITE
I WAITED ON THAT CHANGE-UP
YET SURE ENOUGH THEY'RE RIGHT
I TURNED AROUND TO FACE THE UMP
HE JUST SMILED AND SAID GOOD NITE
I BELIEVE YOU ARE THE K-KING
YOU'RE THE BEST I'VE EVER SEEN
YOU DESERVE TO BE BASEBALL'S
ALL-TIME STRIKE OUT KING

It's not easy becoming a Legendary
Major League Baseball pitcher.
It never was and will never be.
You get put through the wringer
and hung out to dry.
From time to time you'll get little or no
run support.
You may have to face Legendary Icons
of the game 2 and 3 times in a game.
Come face to face with undisguised
Batting Champions.
Silver Slugger Award Winners.
Members and potential Members of the
500 Home Run Club.
Members and potential Members
of the 3000 Hits Club
A few Future Members of
Baseballs Hall of Fame
as well as Iconic MLB ALL STARS.
You will face monumental challenges.
You'll get worn down and roughed up
being on the road 82 games a season.

As a Major League Baseball Starting Pitcher
you suck it up, go out on the mound
and challenge history.
You bring your "A" game
You bring your best fastball
your best curve ball
and your best change up.
When you average 33 starts a season.
Average 10 complete games per season.
Average 3 shut outs per season.
Throw a No Hitter every 3.857 seasons.
Face an average 972 batters per season.
Average 232 innings per season
Through hot , cold , humid and sticky weather.
Give up an average 169 hits per season.
Average 232 innings per season.
Average 82 earned runs per season.
Give up an average 14 home runs in 33 games
over 232 innings per season.
When you average 120 walks per season
Strike out an average 246 batters per season
for a career total of 5714.

It kinda looks like this.
6.6 hits per 9 innings
4.7 walks per 9 innings
9.5 strike outs per 9 innings
Over 27 seasons.
When you do that for a total of 27 seasons
The critics will call you the next
Nolan Ryan.

See Through Me--Eden Ryan Visual 1, 25 Words

I fear if someone looks hard
They'll see I'm broken..

My mask will fall off, my eyes will expose
My past, my heart--things unspoken..

I HAVE TO GET SOME EARLY SLEEP
FOR TOMORROWS GAME
I HAVE TO FACE THAT NOLAN RYAN
HE THROWS SMOKE AND FLAME

YOU HAVE TO PAY ATTENTION
RYAN DON'T MESS AROUND
HE'S BEEN KNOWN TO STRIKE ME OUT
WHEN HE'S ON THE MOUND

HE HAS A FLAMING FASTBALL
YET I CAN GET AROUND
IF HE LEAVES IT UP A BIT
I'LL TAKE THAT PITCH DOWNTOWN

HE HAS A BIG ADVANTAGE
A WICKED BREAKING BALL
I'VE SEEN SO MANY STAND THERE
BAFFLED BY THE CALL

IT TRULY IS A BEAUTY
THE WAY IT SWEEPS ACROSS THE PLATE
SOMETHING LIKE HIS FASTBALL
YOU SWING AND ITS TOO LATE

OPPOSITE WITH HIS CHANGE-UP
YOU'LL BE WAY OUT FRONT
IF YOU WANT TO PISS HIM OFF
GO AHEAD AND BUNT

I KNOW I'M REGGIE JACKSON
NOLAN RYAN IS THE MAN
TRY TO KEEP YOUR EYES OPEN
MAKE CONTACT IF YOU CAN

First baseman Ryan Howard.
Nobody can call him a coward.
Whenever he can hit a baseball,
it can travel high over the wall.

Ryan My Son

Ryan my son, when i visit you
I am glad to be so near
Ryan my son when I visit you
It hurts so bad to see you there

Ryan my son when I visit you
I see where friends have been before
Ryan my son when I visit you
The gifts from friends I do adore

Ryan my son when I visit you
I think of memories I want to keep
Ryan my son when I visit you
The pain I have, it runs so deep

Ryan my son when I visit you
I speak with quivered words
Ryan my son when I visit you
I hope my words don't go unheard

Ryan my son when I visit you
I can't see you, but I know that you are here
Ryan my son when I visit you
The grave you're in
Is filled with all my tears

I Swear To God- Ryan

am i alive today? in this moment, am i present? sometimes, it feels like I’m a ghost without a real purpose. i feel like darkness and reek of cannabis. wondering if the deal with the devil is put in to motion. i’m so high. i’m so high i could die but what fun would it be floating aimlessly over everyone’s head? i’m a ghost already by nature, no need for such a quick mature. i feel it all at once, so deeply it numbs everything inside of me. maybe it’s a sixth sense, i always see death right before it arrives. when ryan died, i swear to god, i swear to god, he came to me that night. wearing a red hat. i swear to god, i saw him. maybe i’m just too good at tricking my own mind. i swear to god, i swear he was there. someone was with me. i swear, i wasn't alone that night. even though i was on brian’s couch. am i crazy? i swear to god, i’m so sorry. i’m awfully hazy. wired on speed. it all comes to me too fast. slow it down. slow down. don’t miss it. look. something is inside of me and i feel it breaking free.

I HAVE GREAT RESPECT FOR THAT NOLAN RYAN.
IN EVERY SINGLE WAY.
I WOULD LOVE TO THINK OF THIS
AS JUST ANOTHER DAY.
NOLAN RYAN IS OLD SCHOOL.
I JUST LOVE THE WAY HE PLAYS.
WHEN THE TWO OF US DO BATTLE,
ONE OF US WILL HAVE TO PAY.
I WON'T LAUGH AT NOLAN RYAN.
NOT EVEN WHEN HE'S WILD.
HE STRUCK ME OUT 3 TIMES SAME GAME,
AND HE NEVER CRACKED A SMILE.
I'VE BEEN KNOWN TO GET SOME HITS,
MANY TIMES TWO OR THREE.
WHEN I HAVE TO FACE THAT NOLAN RYAN,
I NEED TO BE THE BEST THAT I CAN BE.
TONIGHT I HAVE TO FACE THAT CHALLENGE.
I KNOW IT WONT BE EASY.
IF YOUR A FAN SITTING IN THE STANDS TONIGHT.
RYAN'S FASTBALL WILL MAKE IT BREEZY.

Ok, This Is Not a Poem, But It Is a Really Long Comment On a Poem By Ryan Emerald.

ok, lets get some thing straight. my lies? if they are lies then you just screwed yourself
buddy. cos' you believed every "lie" and if i believe something, should i really be persecuted?
deleted? killed even? why should i take this crap from you? all i did was love you. and then
you pull this. so what is it, liar? what is it? just last week you loved me. so stop fooling
yourself by saying you can get better than me. your girl is fugly. just like you. you look like
job of the hut. bet it felt great, thinking you could actually hurt me by "slamming" me. well i
have news for you. i have more crap to say about you than you have to say about me, so
you can go look through your little "slam" and delete all the lies you just wrote.. sorry to
blow your cover, RYAN DIMAIO. hah, you are such a jerk. your dead to me..... just a lost
love that never was. so take that and think of something to slam me with, your little lies. you
are mental. crazy. YOU ARE A JOKE! so there, take that and shove that in yoru little diary.
friggin' slob.

Ryan Seacrest International Spy

To me there is no better night
Than the dimming of the lights
And tuning into American Idol on my T.V.

Tonight's no different to tell the truth
As they give another loser the boot
When I noticed something strange in how Ryan Seacrest blinked

Mr. Pretty Boy was blinking in Morris code
Right underneath America's nose
He was passing off top governmental secrets

So his front has all along been a lie
Ryan Seacrest, international spy
Don't know why before I didn't see this

He uses that cute little baby face
And day old beard to hide his disgrace
As he obviously communicates with the underworld

From one side of the globe to another
Talking in code with his Rooski brothers
Why this just gets my patriotic panties in a curl

Just when you think you know someone
They go and pull this traitor stunt
I suppose now your going to tell me Mom doesn't bake her own apple pies

Then I find out it's some imposter named Mrs. Smith
I'm not sure I can take much more of this
Who next will I catch living a lie

Then I see Ryan run off stage
With the strangest of looks on his face
Seems all along there was stardust in his eyes

Funny it wasn't Morris code
Who's embarrassed now...me I suppose
Ryan Seacrest international spy?
Uh...nevermind

Who out there doesn't miss a good night of Ryan and his day old beard on American Idol....
Come on...tell the truth
