Withered memories invigorate, rekindling rhythm of heart,
Grabbing hold of me to retrieve elation of forgotten past
Throbbing in enchantment, treasured memoirs now impart,
Where decaying house stands, bearing grief seasons cast.

Up the hill I trek, gazing pastures glistening in dawning day
As glint of dawn slowly scintillates horizon...

Premium Member The Old Rusty Gate
I wished to ascend,
so I called a friend,
who knew of such things
and how to grow wings.

‘God’s abode’s within’,
he said, ‘so begin,
by simply choosing,
head and heart, fusing’.

‘Each impulse distil,
aligned with His will’.
So I set out thus,
aboard God’s love bus.

I reached heaven’s gate
and there chose to wait,

Ethereal rays of light
dilute darkness into grey.
Ebony no longer shrouds night;
only shadows defy day.

A spiderweb casts a hue
of iridescent flashes.
And the morning mist drips dew;
in intermittent splashes.

Dawn splits reality's realm
into scenes rivaling dreams.
Where songbirds sing in the elm,
and sunbeams gild golden streams.

Dragonflies and bumblebees
flex crackled...

I bent my mind around her ideas
became engrossed by playful words
Yet the thoughts were so horrific
my tears flowed and eyes were blurred
Sandbox baby playing
laughter and childish sounds
the weight of pain enormous
as a parent's joy turned into frowns

Sandbox baby oh so precious
is society to...

Rusty Finds A Home!

Rust-hued kitty’s shunned by day, ignored through the night
Unloved and discarded in a world numb to his plight
As he meows by a door
Rusty meets family Tor
Who give him a home, protection and love glowing bright
       ...

That old rusty gate, goes way back in time
It's body of metal holds memories
Through the hinges and spindles- Ivy climb
Almost hidden from the thick leafy trees

The gate still swings in the wind of a day
Do the ghosts of the house;...

The Old Rusty Gate

Old rusty gate stands as guard without fear,
sightly slant at the back of my garden.
Blue bell creeper leans on as...

Though I've been rusty and alone
behind this shed for many years,
I won’t bemoan my wasted state,
for life has held more joy than tears.

I do recall some dark days when
I’d just come from the factory,
a shiny bright-red dream-mobile.
A rich young man paid cash for me.

A fine...

Premium Member If I Write Down Words
If I write down words
that pour from me like
water rushing from a rusty gutter
carrying my cries in the flood
with decaying leaves and
the smattering off the roof
of droppings from so many
prominently perched pigeons,
is that a poetry of sorts?

If the aged shingled roof leaks
at its eaves (like...
