Notes About The Poem

Rusty Finds A Home! Collab

Rusty Finds A Home! Rust-hued kitty’s shunned by day, ignored through the night Unloved and discarded in a world numb to his plight As he meows by a door Rusty meets family Tor Who give him a home, protection and love glowing bright
—Robert Gorelick
Who could resist a kitty like Rusty Who is lonely, scared and very dusty Needing a safe home Of his very own And someone to adore him who’s trusty

Oh wow Robert this was so wonderful to see. Thank you so much for the incredible Poetry from you and Beryl Edmunds. I am sorry to have not seen it earlier. I woke my wife this morning to share this lovely creative gift you and Beryl gave to us. Made my day! Later I will hold Rusty and read what your and Beryl have written. Rusty is so happy, he has quite the appetite, probably making up for all those days on his own struggling for a meal. Judy and I feed him four times a day or any time he ...

I'm pleased how well Tavi and Rusty get along--Reminds me of my favorite Saturday morning Rough and Ready--a mischievous cat and dog who got along despite differences. A good lesson for kids and adults alike. Thank you, Michael, your effusively generous response. Please thank Judy as well. All my best, Robert

Rusty has brought so much joy to both of us. My wife adores him and she really takes great care of him. He has new bedding we got for him, new bowl, we feed him wild caught tuna, only the best for Rusty. He is very confident and is not afraid of Tavi. Actually Tavi is afraid of him. He's made it known to Tavi to keep his distance and Tavi does. Now Rusty rules the house, and that's OK. Tavi doesn't mind. Rusty likes attention and if I am on the computer he will jump over Tavi and sit on the table with me. He is my true buddy. Very smart and clean. He really cleans himself. We are enjoying Rusty so much. Robert it is so sad people can just put these precious animals out in the street. I do not get it.

A lovely write Robert and Beryl. So glad kitty found a home. A funny thing happened with my next door neighbour. they locked the pet door flap from the inside to keep a friendly Tom cat out but didn't make it secure so he couldn't get in. around midnight there was much squealing and the couple's daughter took refuge on the dining table - also screaming only to find 'friendly Tom' had got in but couldn't get out. Robert and Beryl, wonderful that there is compassion like this for a needy animal. Funny how animals bring out some of the best behavior in humans! Smiles!!!

So sweet. My daughter’s family was adopted by their kitten Lily. Her mama was not to be found, though they looked for her. Another kitten is known as the shop cat, because that was another mouth to feed, one too many, but they are so like Dr. Doolittles that even 3 mischievous squirrels were found to be knocking…true story, Robert!

They understand animals, Kim they can talk animal talk! So many heart-rending stories like theirs. Mine concerns Michael Tor's kitty, I was moved by Rusty's story.
