Best Riled Poems
Ted enjoys a quick roll in the hay...
He’s sleeping with his buxom P A
She confirmed she’s with child
Ted baulked, then got quite riled
I wonder what his wife’s got to say!

They whipped Him
And stripped Him
They tried Him
Crucified Him
They nailed Him
Strength failed Him
They mocked Him
Hurt rocked Him
God forsook Him
Pain shook Him
They hit Him
Spit on Him
They pierced Him
Coerced Him
They hung Him
Thorns stung Him
They slapped Him
Snapped at Him
They riled Him
Reviled Him
Yet He remained dumb
None He did condemn
I was one of them
Saviour Lord Jesus
From sin, He frees us
With love, He sees us
I was not worthy
But, He’s trustworthy
And hence praiseworthy
I’ll praise Him
Gaze at Him
Worship Him
Tight grip Him
Adore Him
Implore Him
Exalt Him
Consult Him
Glorify Him
Satisfy Him
I’ll thank Him
Bank on Him
I’ll love Him
And prove Him
I’ll bless Him
Profess Him
I’ll trust Him
Discuss Him
Cling to Him
Sing of Him.

My Chicken Adventure
Authored by Chuck Keys
I found a chicken at my door
barely moving on the floor
kind of bony in and out
dirty stinky not proud nor stout
what brought him to my door today
with nothing in hand nor able to lay
I asked "where came you"
replied he "a land away true"
I asked "friend or foe this fine day"
replied he, "I am here to dine n' stay"
another mouth to feed and care for
maybe I need to show him the door
thinking of dinner for myself, " hmm" said I
"should I eat the chicken with potatoes and peas?"
so happy and gleeful he smiled so free
Thinking maybe wouldn't be eaten by me
Hungry as I was, riled at my noisy uninvited guest
i looked at him, thinking, maybe he should be my quest.
Fried, baked, barbecued or soup?
He was destined to my food group.
I ate him.
He was a writer, a fighter, an old-timer word rhymer
Always thought free verse was asinine
He was the queerest, the dearest, the tear in your beer-est
and he was one Tolkien over the line
He was archaic, prosaic, euphoric, historic
Made pentagrams optically divine
He was the cheekiest, geekiest, and uniquely freakiest
and he was one Tolkien over the line
He loved cigars and Star Wars, guitars, and sitars
Collages made his artistry torch shine
He was the jivest, high-fivest, young poet alive-est
and he was one Tolkien over the line
It's not much reward to those who are bored
but are afraid of not acting benign
Sometimes you gotta get riled, and go a bit wild
and step one Tolkien over the line
November 14, 2014
you course in my veins with prurience, wild
immersing my marrow in urge, recompiled
teceptors abducted the instant you smiled
love's effigy flaming, my sinews defiled
all virtue forsaken, as tears from a child
fidelity's prospects are henceforth reviled
I inject you, narcotic - my opiate, pure
a caustic and carnal contingency's cure
delectably dressed with diabolic allure
such dermal sublimity, surface demure
I taste of your shapes, corporeal contour
skin softly savored, goosebumped and bare
your tang on my tongue, the nectar I share
our sugar rush potion for ravishment, rare
mixed in a kiss with the strands of your hair
your ecstatic delirium inculcates my core
I'm lost to a lust that's not lasted before
tinged with an aching that day would abhor
velvet and warm are the walls of your fire
addicted to you with a crave to be higher
you are my medicine, the tonic I chug
I am infected, lubricious and riled
lavished in sensual senses so sure
imbibing the essence of you without care
mixed in like poison, I stir you and pour
swallow in gulps, the consequence, dire
you are my opiate ... you are my drug.
addicted to you.

The truth can’t be seen through blinders.
Eyes and ears covered with hatred.
The tongue’s ready-lash sidewinders,
twisting and spinning what’s sacred.
The truth, the fact, reality
masked - the masses bobble their heads.
The illusion of blasphemy
here, when the scripture’s left unread.
No need for truth, when it’s made up.
“What is truth,” plank’s in Pilate’s eye.
Pilate knows - the charges trumped-up.
Wolfish masses prefer a lie.
How often the accusation,
front page news, folks - everyone’s riled.
The leak, having no foundation,
reneged where no one looks - exiled.
But still the crowd cheers old nick.
The stage decked out in crimson fire.
A civil war waged with a Bic.
No matter the damage - it’s dire!
The law, “Love others as yourself,”
truculent in divisive ways -
‘stead hate and pride speech off-the-shelf.
Lollygagging verses… no one prays…
Spend time in the prayer closet.
It’s worth every cent! Spare time!
Hear God - work up the composite.
Don’t listen to the world. PEACE TIME!

Sleepless Valentine
I took the pinkie blue cuddlesome bear
And by its blood scarlet bow
Noose tied hung it
Too soft
With its felted heart
And false cute sentiment
And with eyes burning hot
I tore it down
Fluffy bear
Thrown to the ground
Where
The petal shard-ed reds of rose
Lay dashed
On broken stems
Thrashed to the corner
The puffy pleading little arms
And big round mollusc eyes
And cutie pie smile
So in bare feet
I could trample flowers
In a Disney valentine
Till I lay on my bed
Groaning, shudders and weeping
And all the words I wrote
Of love
Couldn’t stop the pleading
Of my heart
Not to feel these empty arms
Riled against my pillow I did
And scratched and tore
At cold cotton sheets
While images of you
Lay my souls ever itch in my head
While my blood screamed
With dead Rosetta Rosaceae
And this nights sleepless toss and turn
Has not begun
Has not lifted an eye lid
And stolen my dreams
No
The long dawn has not even begun
To bleed its way through solitary hours
And find me capitulated
In the teddy bear whispers
Of the night still ahead
I must steal myself instead
And continue to hanker after the witches red
Of ringlet hair
And bend my will
To sullen acceptance
No
Not together
No
Not yet
It was our third-grade field trip to the Dinosaur Exhibit
We would be touring all the lands that dinosaurs inhibit
I remember the teacher saying “keep your hands inside your pockets”
Then she paired me with the meanest kid, his name was Tommy Rockets
“I dare you to take an egg,” Tommy whispered giving me a stare
The nest was full of eggs, if I took the smallest who would care?
The next day at school every child was questioned.
The museum curator was out to teach us a lesson
The egg had grown overnight and was hidden in my coat.
They made mom take me to the doctor so he could check my throat.
They poked me and they prodded, ran machines against my feet.
They questioned why I would choose that specific egg to eat.
The news showed my picture on every single station.
One reporter called me Dino Boy. I was an amateur sensation
When the egg finally hatched I had to hide the birth.
The animal that was born was extinct from this earth.
A Flaming Pterodactyl in all his blazing glory.
No one believed me, but who could make up such a story?
At first, he was easy and stayed in my closet through the day.
At night he’d fly around but never go astray.
Then I started getting blamed for things when I wasn’t even there.
Like vegetables gone from gardens leaving soil bare.
Kitty cats so high in trees the firemen couldn’t reach them.
Children so riled up teachers couldn’t teach them.
We moved from one town to another and another.
Each time it was the same. People felt pity for my mother
The next morning I woke up to a chewing sound
crunch, crunch, and crunch.
That’s when I noticed he ate my homework for his lunch.
My Flaming Pterodactyl again was causing havoc.
With a trail of Cheetos, I led him to our attic.
I made sure he was comfy then I headed off to school.
No one there believed me until they found him swimming in the pool.
Now he’s our school mascot in all his flaming glory.
A Pterodactyl that … sorry he ate the rest of this story!!

Africa's children blighted in the rich land of birth
Persecuted by the oppressing hand of foreign greed
Agitate for love to find in ancient pigment its worth
Rights of human beings trampled like common weed
Time changes nothing, it's the blind heart that deceives us
Humanity in Marikana overthrown fore Malema took his stand
Erases what is progress while business stays the same
Insensitive in its selective structure, insolent in its plan
Democracy condoning plunder has a resume of shame.

Souls of men worn with toil and danger
Trespass with their plea for aid and freedom
Rulers riled cast disdain at telling hunger
Imposing tragedy that shows the faked ransom
Kins and comrades in the long struggle paid
Economy is a forked tongue serpent on parade

In protest of the 44 miners who died Marikana
South Africa, I cannot support a pax humana
Till the guilty are brought to justice, children fed
And true equality becomes the legacy of the dead.

Christmas, so full of life, and miracles, was found wanting this year.
A young mother sat by her daughter’s hospital bed, racked with tears.
Her daughter was sleeping way too still; her last breaths would soon come.
How could this happen to so beloved a child, she was way, too very, young.
Where was God’s wisdom, in taking a six year old, or her father as taken in war?
Church, friends, family, others, and her, had prayed till they could pray no more.
They’d ask for her: to walk in the sun, and play again, with family to hold her hand.
But her time was gone, like in an hourglass; the sand was almost, completely gone.
The mother was afraid to pray anymore… what could it accomplish any more?
What the disease hadn't taken, the cure had, nothing left, but for her soul, to soar.
But how could she hand her to the angels? Strangers had always frightened her child.
No, she sobbed, she’s way to young! Still she knew: life was never fair… or mild.
Where was God when you need him! Please don’t take her away! Her mind riled!
When suddenly, her daughter opened her eyes, and smiled her little, tired smile.
She whispered: Papa’s here… to hold my hand… He’s taking me… where I can play.
At that the fear receded… as she said she loved her… then watched her fade away.
Perhaps her prayers HAD been answered… She’d had her time with her, after all.
Now her Husband, would take her place… Perhaps it was his turn, to carry on.
Tears would still be shed… It was natural for that to happen, when this befalls.
But she knew her daughter now had everything, including The Great Father’s Love.
There are many types of Christmas magic, but as her time came to a close…
A mother’s love can’t be beat, except by God’s Love, for us all…
Ain't An Ornery Yahoo
Old widow lady of ninety-two
Lives by herself with nothing else to do
Except sit in her chair next to the window
And stare out for hours with dreams of her past woe
I reckon she ain't ornery yahoo
With a few bricks short of a load
Doing nothing but fuss and talk for ever and tells tall tales
Ain't no telling of those tall tales are true
Whaddya think?
She sits in her chair next to the window
And stares out for hours with dreams of her past woe
Seasons have come and gone with the flowers,
Grass and trees changing colors
She's ran off all her children, family, and friends
Doing nothing but fuss and talk for ever and tells tall tales
With a ruckus if you don't agree and resist
She gets riled up lifts up her clenched dukes and
Lands an uppercut to the mug she’s kissed
Whaddya think?
Y’all want to stay out of her crosshairs if ya can’t resist
Cause y’all open a can of worms if you persist
She carries a small pearl handle chrome plated
Stup nose 22 pistol in her purse

Your aura packs rapt confusion -
it snap drags me with a cyclone’s aloof ~
Your spring perfume cloaks your stroked fall spoof
and your bright appeal conceals delusion -
yet, my eager seeks your smoked flair’s intrusion.
My climbing hope seeks a clue -
it examines gaps in your fickle climate ~
I attempt to riot your depths of private.
Your sky-air raises hints of midnight blue
to dance breezy-twirls on my need's point of view.
Intoxication steeps your vibrations -
flirt notes disguise your spirit’s tone ~
still my swollen need seeks burns in your cool zone.
Your essence boasts self-confident foundations
while my patina pales from riled frustrations.
I remember those times of unawareness.
The innocent circle of found trust.
Its purity and purpose voicing its strategy, before the fallen chips of caution led to tragedy.
Perhaps spotting our pursuit through these lands of grassy plains, where classy dames sip tequila and deceive the family name.
I struggle with challenge the arrow of cupids aim, in a kevlar suit burning in a sodium lithium flame.
We listen to opinions to make up our own, we hear and we think, and we urge to be grown.
A prophetic miracle some says pathetic to believe in, with an acrid bitterness and refuse what they're seeing.
A distant group of archers camouflaged amongst the woods.
Stood freezing there like statues like hidden busts they would,
Move if they could, but something takes a hold and the rest of us conceal ourselves in the safety of our homes.
Fearing the autonomous and the documents they grasp.
Us occupants are promised choice though its dominance they hand.
Like Romulus I'll disappear in the storm and send the tidal waves to shore like in the bible.
Roaring floods off Babylon for serving other idols.
In this basic life style riled up with rivaling sides of my minds vitals.
Brain child wildly rifling through his lifes cycle.
Once upon a times a lie you live untill the end.
Through these winters discontent hibernating waiting for the summer time again, but summer came and went without the sun, instead was wet.
Self confidence a strength which some of us pretend.
We learn as we grow older like owls grey and wise my friend
You cant take anything you own from life over into death.
It makes sense to have the things you want while you can before the call.
Yet remember when you have it it's not good to want for more.
Come hither with haste and stay with me my saviour, let us break, the ties that bind
together all animosity and hate.
Its an anomaly we face and confessions we should make.
Knowing a smart enemy hits where you surely think you're safe.
I want to keep you safe from all this harm
The shouting the hitting so you keep Calm
I am determined to stop him touching you
He never left you alone he bloody knew
Hurting you in such an ugly cruel way
I will protect you so you won’t become prey
His evil way of attacking, was because he can
I’m older now, becoming a much stronger man
The fast river between us will get much stronger
The helpless life you gave me will be no longer
All that power you once had over that little child
I have become clever, smarter you won’t get me riled
Your accomplice was trained to be as bad as you
She was not a mother, just part of you, evil two
I will make it my only mission to keep him by me
This is so he can feel safe & warm till I get him free
He has suffered far to long now, I will make it stop
My strength the Lord gave me will carry me forever
I am ready to conquer you, this will be my endeavour
He’s with me now so go elsewhere if you ever dare
He will be with me now, as for you I don’t care
My love is for him now that’s been waiting to share
That’s just me, myself and the world out there
