*Alice And I*
How can they say she did not exist?
This Sweet Girl I Named Alice
The way she looks at me
-Her eyes tender green
A body figure I can't describe
Together we played hide and seek
We swung in ways no one could see
This girl with pretty red curls
Who enjoys the sound of pouring rain?
Together we slept under the same breeze
We carved our names on the same tree
Side by Side it Read Alice & I!
She whispered the day I fell off my bike
Alice Sweet Alice loves the way I look in red!
Every day I face the mirror
Alice puts her left hand on my right
We share the same identical scars,
Under the right and left palm.
The way she held my hand
Healed the scrapes in every fall
Beating from the bullies, she screams!
Again, Alice, whispers--- "Kill Them All!"
No one ever said a word,
When she stood by my side
Alice knew me in ways no one else did
She knew my eyes -When they cried!
Now I can't sleep,
Since Alice has fallen back into the abyss
Forever conscious in a self-hug
--- This is no dream, it is real!
The rage inside burns.
It took place the day she left!
Burning curtains
Empty mirrors
This Girl Named Alice spoke of darkness,
then disappeared
When I hear the sound of pouring rain
I stare at the shadows on the wall
Nothing feels the same,
I allow myself to soak in the darkness where it began.
My hair of red is not the same
These cuts are all that remain
The only clue in which Alice, was here!
Holding on to a stainless blade, I sleep
ALICE SWEET ALICE!
Please call my name!
Why do they whisper?
Why are they saying she never held a breath?
I know she is real, she exists
Why else would I let her cut my wrist?
This Sweet Girl
"I YELL FOR ALICE!"
Finally, visits again ---
But, who is to believe?
For everyone says
Alice lives inside my head.

The unsung heroes of the open plains
The outlaw bandits like Jesse James
Cut throat thieves and black jack hustlers
Green horn Cowboys and long horn rustlers
They all stood the Cowboys test
A stetsons man a broncos best
Leather chaps and leather vest
A real man's man a cut above the rest
Blazing saddles and blazing guns
Long trail ride and mountain runs
Chuck wagon chilly and camp fire sites
Hot sweaty days and long cold nights
A Cowboy sits on his faithful steed
Quick draw fingers based on speed
Bandanna mask and whiskey flask
A Cowboys job is'nt an easy task
Tabacco chew and cow beef stew
a Cowboys gang and Cowboys crew
They did work from dusk to dawn
round 'em up and brand 'em all day long
Gee!!! and haw!!! right and left
Yee and haw out of breath
Cowboy slang and Cowboy lingo
even Mexican Cowboys that say Gringo
Greetings y'all and howdy stranger
long lost wranglers and lone rangers
Ruff and rugged with no frills
Ask questions later shoot to kill
Yellow belly buckaroos and snake oil peddlers
wanted dead or alive outlaws and frontier settlers
From the California gold rush of 48
to the 13 colonies of this great state
Cowboys lived and Cowboys died!!!!
Cowboys give for Cowboys pride!!!
A QUEST TOUCHED BY HEAVEN
Treading towards an immortal search
a mortal soul stood begins the quest.
Crossing deep sea and burning desert sand
down the wild and civilized land,
soul driven by zest will so grand.
Right and left battle: a door to growth and anguish
Life still wriggles for habitable breath hiss
Shuddering fears may impregnate decline
staggering, falling, hurting but LIVING!
Teardrops shed a lance or rose to the heart.
Prayers a rumble to steps roaring zeal
rave gaits thud though imperfect
Your lit of melodious merciful grace
presages treasure drafts of redemption.
Breakages had caused falls bending spirits
yet, these also caused cries of feverish hopes
frightened but with Your heavenly touch
Am a mortal but siren-like singing hymns of salvation.
In the ocean expanse of gloomy sky,
my heart -a white pigeon craving to fly high.
I strive to reach outstretch stars
Sprouting lovelier even when rain arrives.
Singing my lifesong with side-sways,
enjoying God's gift of life today.

Choosing a favorite President is quite an arduous task
Given that most politicians usually wear a spurious mask,
but as a student of History, there was one that I admired;
" the scrappy kid from Kansas."* So many he has inspired.
In his biography there's a plethora of interesting information.
'Ike" was a 5 star general, besides leading this great nation.
A war hero, selected to be America's Commander and Chief.
A man of great integrity, who did not cause his country grief.
In his honor, a Washington Memorial was dedicated.
His bravery in war, and acts as President are celebrated.
After the war, he commanded European NATO forces
and overthrew communism from it's evil courses.
Voted U. S. President in 1952, with the slogan, "I Like Ike,"
Richard Nixon was his running mate; they were nothing alike.
In two terms served, he created a grand legacy for his name.
A President for the people, to him the office was not a game.
There are many valuable quotes that Eisenhower left behind
and I'll end with a few that I feel worthy for us to keep in mind;
none more appropriate than this one, I was happy to find...
"Some day there is going to be a man sitting in my present chair who has not been raised in the military services and who will have little understanding of where slashes in their estimates can be made with little or no damage. If that should happen while we still have the state of tension that now exists in the world, I shudder to think of what could happen in this country."
"The middle of the road is all of the usable surface. The extremes, right and left, are in the gutters."
"Leadership consists of nothing but taking responsibility for everything that goes wrong and giving your subordinates credit for everything that goes well."
"If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power."

"Love in the Time of Uncertainty"
Like the tide of the ocean
coming and going
with its calm seductive
hushed reassurances and
vociferous remonstrations
dragging me towards the undertow
I have placed my trust in lovers
that come and go like holidays
short spent longing for depth and length,
I burn them and begin again
considering all their ardent lamentations
best to put a sea wall up and
walk along the edge considering
all the fins that swim
I throw pearls at them
to wear around their thorny necks
sea rope and weeds I wear like the dead,
sea urchins and sirens going off in my head
Love rises from hiatus again like the Sun
when all the dying has now begun
The Heart is a sea shell
sold by the sea shore
placed now against my ear
a treasure chest warm and beating
from a shipwreck
becries its glorious tales
I hear its distant humming
a song it sings to me across
the waves of absence,
another’s longing,
I drink it all in
a tonic for an old Life to die
a new journey to begin
I am as green as absynthe
drugged in delusions and disillusionment,
now darkest dark blue in form
with shades of deepest grey as a tempest
in a cloudy hot mess reading tea leaves
in a cup turned upside down
as above so below
is this how it is done?
Are there such things as
romantic prophecies,
I am lost in reading all the other ruins and
chariots storming fallen tarot towers
gambling on right and left bowers
jokers and their tricks, Queen's Slippers badly fit
card houses built with straw clowns and broken sticks
questions are asked of the
mystic glamour mysteries
Love in the Time of Uncertainty
Peace in the Time of Uncertainty
Wind in my sails sends me out into
The Ocean again ...

I wake up screaming
Max the Axe has just chopped me into bits
It is not the first time
but this time I felt it.
I glare at my husband who is still clicking buttons.
Can you give that a rest? I ask.
He does not hear me.
He is in lahlah land
In video game world.
Being a detective
Solving crimes
Right and left.
He has no idea there is a real person in this room
For he is Sam Spade aka Humphry Bogart
Master detective with a Maltese Falcon

They watch him like a Broad-wing Hawk
In all his comes and goes
He invades their every thought
Bugs them to the bone
He delights in the slip and slide
Like a greased pig in their grasp
Thinking they've got him this time
But they had best not think so fast
They scandalize the scandals
Beat their chests and drums
Walking on a thin line
Hoping to nip him in the bud
He has them on a short leash
They bark at his command
All big dogs is what they think
Tails wagging on the right and left
Every now and then he tosses them
One or two Chicken Little bones
Where they run and scream the sky is falling
It's not like we were not warned
As he sits behind his desk
Plotting his next move
Donald Trump and the Media
....ain't that the truth
On this paper you’ll read what killed our humanity
The simple answer: it died to corporate greed
Our race is alive, our morals are not
But we’re just simply doing what we were taught
We murder and steal, then fine and judge
Our hypocrisy is limitless, criminals don’t even run
We point the finger, right and left
And we’ll point it till we have nothing left
If you find this note on a rock
Look to the horizon to see our Earth
I don’t even know what’ll happen to me
Maybe we’ll figure it out and be actually free
But if you only see space, say goodbye to the human race
As a child I would never have abandoned
my family, my friends, or my dolls.
As a pre-teen the dolls were put away with reluctance,
because I never wanted them to feel abandoned.
As a teenager I realized I had to abandon
some friends, in order to save myself.
It was not easy, but it was either them or me,
and people become sad when they abandon themselves.
As a woman in love, and a young mother,
I decided to abandon all things that did not aid in my goals.
I abandoned people, places, and things right and left,
in order to be the happiest me I could be.
I am an expert at abandoning things now. I abandon everything
and everyone who takes away from me.
Because I never want to abandon myself.

Turn around, turn
Right and left.
Use not your eyes, but
See it in your heart,
Touch it with your mind, feel it in your soul.
My trust is yours.
Embrace it, and don't break it.
I began life as a gorilla – cumbersome and chunky.
I clunked my way into situations, abrasive and loud.
I also misrepresented and misspoke.
Rapidly became misunderstood and ostracized.
Life was not working...
So I transmogrified myself into a butterfly.
Flitting from place to place, not staying long enough for enemies.
Keeping myself safely out harm’s way
Keeping my emotions inside where they began exploding
So I blew up and had to reinvent myself....
Now I am a lively, happy mountain goat.
I butt people who annoy me.
Defriending them right and left on social media.
A warrior woman mountain goat.
Living my truth, my way.
Pleased to meet you!

I am strong,
and I won't complain.
The light may shine,
blinding my eyes,
but no I won't complain.
Eternity and destiny,
are my right and left,
so no, I won't complain.
Till my last breath,
of paining vain,
I won't complain .
Why?
Why won't I complain?
Agonize till unbearable,
and still,
why won't I complain?
Simplicity,
lies in the answer,
I won't complain,
I feel gratitude,
to what happens...
I feel special...
I feel unique...
That things, only happen to me.
as my heart is a home for God.
Blessings are my gift,
so why should I complain?
I'm standing on a crossroad.
And there's a storm coming.
The sand I'm standing on, will not stand the rain.
And when right and left stopped being directions,
I find that turning around is not an option.
I cannot go backwards,
cause even if i try to go back in time, I can't!
believe me- I tried.
The road in front of me,
the one I'm on, feels funny even to my toes,
and with every step I take,
I enter deeper and deeper a life I do not own,
A life I did not ask for.
The rain may wash the paths away
My name may be called from all possible directions,
but not even the disorientation left behind from the flood,
will shut the voice that's tearing down my throat up.
Because even if I don't own a path to follow, I'll keep walking.
Because sometimes walking between paths, is just creating an other.
Sometimes walking with somebody else's feet is simpler,
but ending up somewhere were you don't belong isn't.
I did not get here to follow footsteps, but to have mine followed.
With muddy knees and hurting feet, I'll get there.
And if the storms decides not come, I will erase the fixed paths,
maybe with water, maybe with tears.
Because the only way to know I'm walking on the right path,
is to make damn sure it's mine, and not someone else's.
And yes- I might not know where I'm headed,
but I'm sure I'll get there.
Looked up and down, right and left
Wondering why life suffers a theft
Subtracted beauty from my chin cleft
If I deserved and preserved the best
My love could lavish to attest
Why my love passed a preset test
Under dodgy durations of circumstances
Pummeling endeavours made in instances
That diminished and dwindled distances
Acknowledged to reveal robust character
On a bus, on a train, on foot, on a tractor
Where we determined adversity no longer a factor
In consolidating the love we feel
Grows by leaps and bounds despite the bill
Your family sprang on me to deal and kill
The foundations you and I have built
Over the years to fight to the hilt
Any machinations to pour heaps of silt
Into our love cogs
Meaning love should don cogs
Saunter under coercion in bogs and fogs
To prove its strength
Walking on hot coals at length
If truth should pervade and invade love width
To delight your parents
So worried and harried by overdue rents
We owe for domestic tents
That accommodate our nights and days
Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays
Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays
Shared with supreme care
Far beyond compare
Even when evil eyes stare
Willing you and I could disintegrate
To delight the flight of the ingrate
Who wishes our relationship could migrate
Into Dante's Hades
Struck by full blown Aids
Enfeebled and disabled in beds
Where to detractors we surrender
Stuck owing bucks to the vendor
Who dares to crush our love in his blender
Administering his coup the grace
As we lie panting on yellow grass
Listening to soothing sounds of brass
Whispering osculation and consolation
Amid an attempt at immolation
Our love sustains not in isolation
But in tandem
With a hustled harem
Which sings its ultimate knell anthem.
