Best Rifts Poems
My darling, my dearest, my loving man –
it is a perfect fire you have going,
the atmosphere is Christmas-cheer glowing.
I delight in you, me and our cider brew
in this, our own romantic freedom sphere.
Your presence, talk and kisses are my heaven.
I love you calling me sweetheart, always have –
I wish your voice were something I could grab,
plus, your embrace, that neither would diminish.
It could be my blessing, come wrapped as present.
Yes, you’re right, sure, we’ll always be together …
sipping cider, sharing life’s joys and rifts.
Our love has lent richness to five Christmas’ times
and still your presence brings me joy undefined.
More cider? … Bit sleepy? – I’ll tuck this pillow.
Drink … there, that’s it … so, I’ve had you shadowed,
that is, you and the she you never tried to quit.
Scared? … It's just my loving gift of arsenic.
The space between stars contains countless hidden gems
A locked tight treasure trove, opened up by our lens
Prisms split apart light spectra, and dopplers change shifts
We watch galaxies do cartwheels across great rifts
The space between stars, zooms us backwards in time
Before gods arrived, to claim the cosmos divine
In turn challenged by telescopes on trellised stilts
Optics probe heaven, to find it’s still being built
The space between stars is empty, No! not a chance
Black holes wolf down photons, spinning neutron stars dance
on nebulous clouds, stirring up pillars of dust
Remnants from a time, when supernovae went bust
The space between stars, is black magic synergy
Far-out matter thrives, tripping on dark energy
All goes unseen, beyond the human naked eye
Minds can sense its presence, but are stripped bare of why
Of course we share gravity, and are loosely bound
Tests our reason, so hermetically profound
The draw of the universe will never expire
Its paradox tears apart, yet keeps us entire
As the stars cross this brumous night ~
Standing here with these white washing tides
Carrying away the sands beneath my feet
Glancing beyond the repetitious of this champagne sea
Swells amid the rifts now rising....
Before my thoughts and inside of my heart
Communing with a chromatic collage of endless faces ~
This colloquy within my own souls revelations
As the mist before my eyes begins to clear
And the lighthouse of truth, as truth is, begins to appear
Castaway phantoms walking upon the waters
Beckoning unto me all of their beauties ~
Their irreplaceable hopes and dreams....
Transcending the tangibles, amid an unproportional world
The relevancies of every life, speaking unto me
As a warm tear rolls down my face
While Jupiter explodes, before my eyes ~
Impaling my spirit with these impeccable purities....
Sublime; as I walk further into the swishing swirling currents
Toward the fathoms of acceptances understandings
Taking their precious hands, as the moon smiles upon their, glow ~
Born anew, within this panoramic and palindrome view....
Embracing their beating breathing hearts~These creations!
Turning back the tides of time; castaways no more
For it is all of life that I see now, deep inside the splendor
The wonders of whom they are, each, as a precious jewel ~
Awakened, amid these implosive clarities....
As the stars cross the fading brumous night
Standing here with the white washing tides
Carrying away the sands beneath my feet, forever ~
Glancing beyond the repetitions of this champagne sea
Phantasms of once thought lore, smiling as they come alive
Lessons learned, and shifting dunes, of truths unfold....
While these rubies as tears, fall, from the corners of my sight
Marking my cheeks, unto their graves of what used to be
Slightly quivering lips; as these endless wells of emotion, arise inside
Realizing, how much I truly care, for each and every one, of their lives ~
Mars, now embracing Venus with, an everlasting kiss....

~ Unconditional Love! ~
Aimless foot prints mark a wind torn shore
deserted rifts splitting a secluded scene,
(where romance rocked a heart between
painted paradise and realness once adored)
our heads inevitable drift even deeper inside
And as blood red curtains paint a choppy sea
where last sun rays die a temporary death,
(so wondrous how they hold their breath
to pat one later on the back with glee)
even shallower time stamps left by our feet
Everything erased a minute after we passed by
incessant and unrelenting a water without feel,
(your hand in mine, I bend over and steal
evening breeze kisses, almost shy)
and find myself in you a place to hide
An uncertain future held without hope
washed away shores with unfulfilled dreams,
(but because nothing is as bad as it seems
with you by my side, I can certainly cope)
together our spirits and lives are complete

Ribbon arcs across skies;
Red, orange and yellow
Revel with blue, green and
Ravishing violet
Romanced by indigo --
Revealed by raindrops’ slick
Rifts of the sun’s white light

We gape at the sky
this Fourth of July,
as rockets ignite
to deal us delight,
while strangers unite.
I’m such a dope,
it gives me hope
that Nations torn
can be reborn.
Let God’s gifts
heal our rifts,
our esprit.
Let’s pray
we stay
free.

Quote : “In our quest for the answers of life we tend to make order out of chaos, and chaos out of order.” – Jeffrey Fry
In the quest of life, I ponder days long past,
Sweet memories linger, love's echoes cast.
Dreaming of romance, hearts closely bound,
Ignoring the bitter, where rifts were found.
A dream world unfolds, affection's embrace,
A haven where complaints find no firm place.
A paradise of love, smiles intertwined,
In a realm where sweet accord is enshrined.
Yet present days unfold with hurdles dire,
Obstacles rising, like mountains entire.
Reality's grip, emotions held so tight,
Struggling with differences, shadows in sight.
In this complex dance of future and past,
I dwell, seeking warmth that will ever last.
Living each day, hope within my breast,
A quest for grace, in life's eternal quest.

Beautiful music
Caress my neck softly
Hold my body close to yours
Tempt these sweet chord progressions
Acoustic desired freestyle
Finger my frets with delicate touches
Mother of pearl inlays sweat
Bend my vibrating strings
Crank my volume knob high
Sliding capos moan
Play lead in poetic rifts
Soundhole oozes sensual melodies
Gouging pickguard’s scars
Tune me in the key of love
Strum me hard…
Let’s make beautiful music together
From my guitar’s point of view. : )
Embers and snowflakes, fire and ice;
Opposites joined in many ways.
Embers from fire, snowflakes from ice;
Both can portend the end of days.
Ozone depletes, sunrays pierce through;
Fires scorch Earth- hot embers sear rifts.
Smog fills the sky- sunrays are blocked.
Ice glazes earth, snowflakes build drifts.
Embers and snowflakes, fire and ice;
Which ending for us will it be?
Humans of Earth, turn a blind eye
Forgetting that we hold the key.

Desire and hatred, fire and ice,
Opposites joined in many ways;
Fire fuels desire, and ice molds hate;
Both can portend the end of days.
Desires for gain, passions go wild
To dictate command of the world.
Ice fills the veins of those who hate.
Explosions of anger unfurled.
Desire and hatred, fire and ice-
Which ending for us will it be?
Humans of Earth, turn a blind eye;
Forgetting that we hold the key.

Fire and ice, the end of days-
Embers and snowflakes, desire, hate;
Opposites joined in many ways.
We, end of our world, may create.
Lavish locks sprawl pillowed in peace this morn.
Gently whiskered cheeks hint of last night's lipstick
Tensions banished blue grassy fiddling lingers
Let's take it easy
I'll make the omelets
while you get a shower, dear.
Oh? You'd rather play some more?
Alright, eats postponed.
Pounding rhythms drumming heartbeats
Satiation lullaby.
In stillness your breath meanders its way
through the vast concert hall of my naked
vulnerability cooing minor
keyed assurances of something finer.
Rifts while integral to the theme render
our phrasing discordant at times yet
your hard earned skill in handling your fender
is spawning a wisdom I don't quite get
but it soothes and smooths, warms and relaxes
us both and though still stressed out by taxes
and injustice, fear and idiocy
frustrations from others unable to see
we remember our gift of harmony
and sing our twin souls free of enmity.

The three forms used to construct this poem are Sapphic Stanza, Sedoka, and Sonnet.
No sounds are made, her world is hushed
She dances in darkness to music not heard
Imagines things that to us would be absurd
Lives in tranquility, where nothing is rushed
Through Braille she lives with fingers as guide
She weaves through valleys, mountains high
She'll never have to witness a loved one die
No evil to see or hear, no lies she will hide
No sorrow do I feel for her lack of the gifts
we take for granted, ones we abuse; misuse
She's better off not seeing life's colorful hues
or the black and white of men who cause rifts
She builds her castles without moats of fear
Soars in the clouds upon gold and silver wings
In mumbled but beautiful voice, she sings
She makes me aware that angels are here
Pappou, means grandfather in Greek,
He would listen carefully then speak,
Cleanse yourself first and heal,
Any rifts or wounds that gnaw.
Chose wisdom over wrath he’d say
Your time to fail, he would explain,
Will be entirely of your own choosing.
So open your minds and listen,
Understand your words,
And keep improving.
Don’t waste precious words, like snow
Falling in the desert,
Or as the claws of barren branches
Reaching out from a lone tree
Just prepare yourself,
To be body, mind, and soul free.
A war of words can be intelligently
Won, Without any snapping or
Or fighting back,
For then you loose the track,
By fighting back,
So keep on the track,
And you will victoriously
Have won this war of words.
One more thing, before you speak,
Remember my grandfather the Greek.
I feel more than a little out of place
As if my trusty pen does deface
The paper, that lies stubborn, blank,
My words hang heavy and outrank
My thoughts, which battle to clear
But struggle in a fog of fear.
I try hard to shake the demons out,
I will not sink to harbour doubt
Or turn to lay claim to fragility,
Fractured phrases mar ability
And jumbled lie and make no sense,
Cause rifts to form in competence.
I want to leave an inscribed trail,
To succeed where odds are set to fail,
To make a difference to the world
And use my pen with fingers curled
To hold the precious gift and savour
Writing truth without fear or favour.
I hope my words will fill a need,
Defend all of our freedoms, that lead
To providing power, to build, renew
And abandon weak words; join the few
Who have learned to wield a mighty pen
That defeats the brutal acts of men.
Evil might not be specifically based
Its head emerges when something’s erased
That leads to censoring our creations
It’s not linked just to religion or Nations.
At first subversive it rises and shatters
All I hold dear - and to me this matters.
