Premium Member Tender Is This Love

Love has taken a firm grasp of my soul,
ridding me of chill and bite of hoarfrost
Strong arms rescued me from the Winter's cold
Etched upon my heart is his name,  embossed

He soothed my senses and woeful sorrows,
offered moonbeams to dispel darkest nights
Erased the reasons for my brow's furrows
Lifted me from harm and set my world aright

He drowned me in crashing tides of passion
then revived me with life's breath in a kiss
Pray, heart,  keep beating in such sweet fashion
ne'er to be slain and cast in death's deep abyss.

Tender is this love through nature's seasons
with gentle reminders of heart's reasons

Premium Member Holy One, Our Everything

Long ago Messiah came
tiny babe with Holy Name.
Born a lamb of Bethlehem
Promise of redemption’s plan.
Sinless one, He died for sin.
God in flesh, He rose again!
Ascended One enthroned above,
bids His followers to love.
Let the great glad tidings ring,
Christ will soon return as king!

Finally our Lord will reign,
ridding earth of death and pain.
Glorified in robes of white,
His radiance dispels the night.
All knees will bow and tongues confess
He is Lord and nothing less!
Holy hands to Him we raise!
All creation, give Him praise!
Holy One, our everything!
Jesus Christ the Lord and King!

Baby It Is Cold Outside

I can hear the mouthless wind,
loudly howling outside my window.
Its wingless unseeable form whipping through the leafless trees.
Ridding the branches wildly,
blowing falling flakes onto every available space,
and covering them in whites,
giving them admirable shapes.

Oh what a magical sight to gaze upon indeed.
And although I happily enjoyed watching the snow soundlessly gliding down,
kissing the ground softly and forming beautiful landscapes,
the harshness wind is toothlessly bitting through my bones with its frigid coldness.

So I think it’s time to turn up the fireplace for some heat to my chilled bones,
and maybe a cup of delicious hot cocoa to warm my soul.

Because
baby it is cold outside…

Premium Member A Black Oak Tree

A noble Black Oak tree stands tall and tranquil
Wearing brown, old and dried crumpled leaves
Withstanding all autumn and winter storms
Without any distress or any grief
Golden fall is long gone, cold, wet season is also concluding
Spring is poking its head up with colorful bulbs blooming
Some of her allies have Cherry blossoms in flourish
Some show progression of luscious new emerald leaves
Mother earth knows unique behavior of her child
With assurance, she lets her be herself while watching over with smile
Tree wants to hold on to longstanding and withered for a while long
Not ready yet to let go of dear presence of that warmth
April comes along to cheer her up
Tree beams, perks up
Ridding her old dry appearance, starts dressing up
Growing yellowish handsome clusters of dangling male catkins,
Gorgeous reddish female flowers in short striking javelins,
Velvety foliage of sharp zigzag tips in red tinge,
With pointed seven to nine lobes with bristles exquisitely unique
Summer grows them into profound shade of shiny green
Rust colored acorns with top halves enclosed in caps start appearing
Showing her wisdom in her towering strength and stability,
With canopy of branches widespread and mighty,
Tree gets ready once more for visitors of ecosystem to offer plenty…

Kappa

. Mr. Kopp flies his Kappa kites on nights with
                     kaleidoscope skies. Lying
                      on a knoll Mr. Ks’
                       dreamy eyes

                        as his keel pulls from
                        where his body lies.

Premium Member Witchfinder General Matthew Hopkins

Rode around Essex with murder in mind
With evil followers from town to town
Matthew Hopkins was the worst of his kind
Hunting for witches that he could take down.

Towns people would say that woman's a witch
She'd then be tortured until she confessed
Then hanged until death and thrown in a ditch
Hopkins got paid saying she was possessed .

People believed his work was of the good
Earned a large fortune from superstition
By ridding' evil 'from the neighbourhood
Claimed witch finding was his holy mission.

Three hundred murdered in his killing spree
Were all tortured and charged with sorcery.

Premium Member Grieving People

They fled their land to find safety
instead, they found
cruel life wherever they lived
They've lost everything
because they're that way
Their aspirations crumbled
and they lost all their aspirations.

Something I strive
to be among the shattered
in honor of the broken
Thinking about all tears that would be shed
their world caves over them
their optimism turned into terror.

I wish to be with splintered people
the face-to-face challenge, people
the unseen, unheard, uninvolved
The type who strives to lurk in shadows
couldn't you trust me?

Why do they need not be alone?
Why must they weep to sleep?
All hope is lost to them
only darkness prevails
Alas, act in a purely unfazed manner
not having everything handy
They attempt to comprehend.
leaving from one paycheck to another
cheering and clapping sans graceful motions.

They weep until their eyes dry.
entirely on their own,
they can only wish for brighter days.
when they could find solace
As their emotions hardened into stones.

I am neutral about skin color
or their perceived sin
or their need to be flawless to win
I start with sight and sound
despite aspects or ground
should never be, where they're found.

Modern stupidity in innocence
stupidly that shoves them to survive
Fair pretense and pure all
illuminating blind minds
Luminousness of noble ideals
may aid the underprivileged
or bless, the broken-hearted.

To heal their wounded souls
to bestow hope to the desperate
to promise salvation
to wipe away their tears.

I am overwhelmed by such a plight
who can grasp their insight?
or even sense being near the site
they may offer love I could not bestow.

Ultimately, we are all flawed
suffocating, we stagger
costumes and snob jokes
Victims of other people's poking
no one's heart is empty.

Complexity creeps into our minds
may rush if others approach
each unspoken and broken
For the sake of finding
excluded role hiding
cruel passion ridding
Need to see well where you're sitting?

Transient Troubadour Traverses Terrestrial Terrain

'Course as a grim teller of tall tales,
(albeit poetic) reasonable rhyming
quasi roundelay I readily admitted to feign
cuz, stringing words together with
pride and prejudice plus
sense and sensibility, jocularity,
and conformity I dissed deign

dactylic, and anapestic metrical reign
jest your ordinary garden variety

yet mine mean mien blithely, daringly,
fatuously, ludicrously, nauseatingly,
pretentiously playfully urbane

will coon sitter
yours truly harmlessly insane,
whose feeble attempts
to wax and wane
oft times falls flat (splat goes Matt)
as if dropped out plane,
without a parachute

instantly recuperating while lain

none the worse) asthma brain
suffers concussion, confusion, contusion
actually, immediately, and unexpectedly
knocked fluent German speaking ability

If ye really comprehend
trademark non Turkish gobbledygook
then explain (using
language of least familiarity),
but best to commence

Jules

Troubled heart and best friend.
Your love is ridding a rail.
Your hair within the wind.

Take the fragments from every one night stand.
The bottle is always half empty.
When passedfrom a guilty hand.

Am I your confessor Your lover your clown
or friend.
In empty arms you take refuge.
with many smiling fools none of which
you can depend.

Sorry I played the game withuot even
reading the rules.
Sorry I bleed from the heart.
Only to speak from the pen jules.

Run and hide try to erase your
thoughts from all.
In a labyrinth we do exist.
From that pool of nothing we crawl.

Should I fade like some villian down some dark
street.
Forgetting the encounter.
Only to recall a moment in another tragedy
we did meet.

Even the most firey passion cools.
cast away my wishes
and engave my words.
Forever my Jules.

Like a tender kiss, breathless as a whisper, his light kindles dreams, shadows my mind with serenity, as I compose affection that grows, glows and flows through my soul – by poet

Breathing hope that fades into smiles
His song drifts through my worst trials
Stirring the muse with hues of grace
Giving the heart a light embrace
He lifts all my fears, appeasing
Shining into souls, so pleasing
Gifting my mind with perfect peace
Pouring out love that will not cease

Dancing through my heart, a prayer
Ridding my thoughts of doubt, despair
Gentling my life, reflecting love
Striking fires kindled from above
Rich, vibrant raptures pierce the heart
Comforting souls with a fresh start
His compassion glows with a blaze
Sparked by the One who will amaze!

One Day a Year Phew

Tinsel and sparkling green pine tree
Glittering and glowing faces
Handmade items hanging

Lights blinking green and red
Decorations and mistletoe kissing
Snowman's built with sleds sliding

Hot coco by the fire with homemade bread
Turkey cooking with aroma of delight
Carolers cheerfully singing a Christmas tune

Small eyes light up with dreams of toys
Dancing though their heads, wondering
Children tucked in beds with stories told

Sleeping and dreaming of what Santa will bring
Romance looming through the air
Rings are bought at the perfect time

A wedding ring placed in a large present
Mom and Dad in bed exhausted and in debt
Worth it just to see their children's smiles

Presents opened small children playing
Bike ridding and toys making noise while
Pants and shoes lay on the floor

Christmas is over, phew!

Premium Member Becoming

The years have rolled by
Hours into days; days into months
Continuous rotation from soft sunrises
To brilliant sunsets on the western horizon
On and on year upon year
Until this tall, slender, white female
Has become an elder, a senior citizen
Or, an old woman; I prefer an elder lady—
With pace slowing from a cheetah to a kitty cat
But, with mental acuity sharp as a razor;
Though the thought processes have changed
From policy and procedure to poetry and prose –
“The purposes is to identify” becomes
‘Love likened to soft velvet”
I’m glad God stopped me from working and said,
“This is what I want you to do now.”
Oh, that my tongue was that of a skilled writer*
Or, that my hand could express what my heart thinks,
How blessed to look at life retrospectively
And see life’s puzzle gradually coming in place
But, still have the sweet wonderment
Of what is yet to be while inhaling the present;
An elder lady with lifetime developed refinement
Combined with a sense of contentment
It is better to be settled in later years
Than the flitting from hither to the yon
Of youth scrambling for meaningfulness
Though that is not true for all youth or all elders;
Searching in crooks and crannies
Wiping away the cobwebs of life
Looking for what may have been or
Ridding the what was and won’t go away
Rainbows, sunrises, sunsets, gentle rains
Add visual flavor and meaning
As the tall and slender becomes bent
And hair turns to silver—
Children rise up to call their mother blessed;**
Sunrise to sunset day upon day
Continually rotating in God’s beauty
From dawn to dusk until eternity

Premium Member Lavender Flower

I receive a flower when there is trouble
The trouble of the mind that sinks my power
Lavender one peeks my creative bubble
The color brings out my heart of the flower
Long lasting the strong scent permeates the air
Allows my trouble to fade, ridding despair
I see how the color fills the air with joy
Lavender sparks the mind’s eye, to now enjoy
