Banana Republic Appeal

Sunshine smile,
it Arctic enamel glows
Crescent grin tropical —
Antarctica guile

A bright yellow corona skin
is so cold-fusion tan Chernobyl
As Dictator icy wind snow blow,
Democracy curvature bend

Creamy sweet coin promises
of a silky, tubular tongue
Hanging from a lip bung,
monkey climbers can’t resist

Swing blade lo Banana Republic Appeal,
it’s a Tyranny meal force fed
Gulag sweet fruit flavor med
has a sick-o whet, ill monkeyshine feel

The Republic of Jenish, the Lost Resort

Once there was an intellect called smoke, the philosopher
Architect of a new republic of peace by dare
Shunting viruses by tolerance
Eliminating interferences by endurance
Bloody this domain is for gladiators

Premium Member India Republic Day

Today is the seventy third Republic Day,
Of India - young nation - a unique bouquet;
Nice spicy people living in twenty eight states,
And eight union territories; friendly relate…!

Talking more than four hundred twisting tuneful tongues,
With their hereditary folk-dialect strings;
Faiths of ten religions fraternally flourish,
Each in their way love, hope and tolerance nourish...!

Staging, daily, moreover, twenty eight dance forms,
And ten or above folk county art formic norms...
Algebra, number zero, yoga, shampoo, chess,
Origin from this ancient land's lovely abyss...!

We've Tricolor; true Hindu Saka calendar,
Rupee, tiger, peacock, lotus, Ganges grandeur;
Our hospitality has its global flavor,
Shown in humble, courtesy-filled frank behavior...!

Doctor Ambedkar, Constitution-designer,
Nehru, Bose, Dadaaji, lal, bal, pal, and other;
All fighting to gain the nation deserved freedom,
And then its federalism solving each problem...!

Of all, gift of this nation for this lovely globe,
Is, the man, Mahatma Gandhi, in torn old robe...
Who, like Jesus, taught Indians, show other cheek,
If one beats you on one; to reach forgiveness-peak...!

Republic Day In Isolation

Republic Day Republic Day
We can celebrate all day
Watch the parade with pride and have a nice time
See the hoisting of the flag from far and wide
Everything is closed so stay at home
Even though you want to go
Salute the Flag from the get go
Dress up in the colours of the flag
Have yummy food but don't brag!

Premium Member Tamar the Great of Georgia

[paraphrase of a Svan folksong]

I, I am Queen Tamar
I raised myself to Heaven
I dug up a barren mountain
I left only a deep hole
I put the sword to Constantinople
I drove them into the sea
I made their lands my lands.

Premium Member A Republic Or Democracy

A Republic or Democracy
By Franklin Price
8/26/2016

A Republic or Democracy, you may think they're quite the same.
You can see not by the spelling, or the meaning of the name.

Though neither has a royalty, has neither queen nor king;
Representatives are voted in, by the people, that's their thing.

In Democracies it's everyone who has the right to vote
In Republics voters law defined by representatives of note

Theoretically, as time moves on, Democracy remains unchanged.
Republics, through the powers that be, are often rearranged.

Voters changed and methods too to keep the powers there,
To resist all change, if going well, by representatives who dare

A Republic is The U.S.A. not a democracy,
It really is quite evident by the actions that we see.

If not for the Constitution, that our founding father's wrote,
Only the rich and powerful would have the right to vote

The masses would be serfs and pawns; I'm not so sure we're not,
For some are given all they have by the working ones who've got

The rich pay very little and keep the working taxes high
To keep their thumbs upon us, to control us 'til we die.

Many workers are so foolish, think their votes don't mean a thing.
They stay at home on voting day. In their heads, alarms should ring.

By staying home, they have no voice. The rich have less to do
For change will not be coming; surprise!, surprise! there's nothing new.

If you care about this country, and the Republic that is here,
Vote, when the polls are open,. to have a voice, I hope that's clear.

Memories of the White Republic

I remember my candles in the night
My eyes heavy but weightless like light
The thought of being a corper my right

A pound on my head boom boom
The thud of boots and whistle boomerang
Shrill cries like a community gone agog
Soldiers and man o wars on the work

Kaaki and boots stroll under the wilderness
As I drench myself in the reflection of morning parade
Then I wake up to the reality of being a soldier, even though my tired feet struggle for survival in the hands of code 1 and code 2
Like a wrestler contesting the royal rumble

I have been stressed, squeezed like a rug left on the floor to rumple
My enduring and persevering heart whispers
The sweet chants of one day we will go
Yes indeed we will go, not as we were but as gallant soldiers of the NYSC

I swim in the pool of events
Tiring as it is, I must make it
This is the reality, I have always wanted

Lectures were made on white and black
Skills were taught on the block
Food and love shared on the clock
Uncertainty looms in the horizon
When the bugle of farewell blows on the 26th of March to another hurdle
On which side of Cross River will I march
Calabar,Ikom,Ogoja,
Good soldier that I am
I must go
Kopas we we we
Kopas wa wa wa

What faith befalls you on Tuesday
Take it with wa wa wa
This is the reality we have always wanted
Our dream and long desired expectation
Have finally unfolded into its oblivion of extinction
Let us awaken ourselves to the reality of serving our fatherland

The Kitchen Republic

Woken to the diluted aroma of abinci
Closer to food like hair to head
Closer to the ever-long water queue
Always ahead of the food queue
A place with no King
The Kitchen Republic.

Corpers obey the reality call
Get accommodated somehow . . . somewhere
Fate took us to the Republic called Kitchen
All seems well with the Kitcheners
We were the envy of many Corpers.

Fredral Republic of Nigeria

The federal republic of Nigeria.

my country they say is very
corrupt with selfish leaders,
bribery among ourselves,
where unemployment is more
than the people, where there is
inequality among male and
female. the land where poverty
can be found and high rate of
bad gambling of all where
dangerous people are.
with these Nigeria has the
largest diversity of culture with
good heritage and we are
proud of it
we are very entrepreneurial ,
confident, and respectful
we are bound with freedom,
unity, faith, peace, which we
progress in all aspect of our
day to day life and filled with
humility.
our smiles lightens our world
we are blessed with rich sweet
dark chocolate skin which does
not age fast
our accent tops our world
justice is our shield and
defender
we never let the labours of our
heroes be in vain
above all we are GOD’s own
creation.

You were born fully grown.

And you were the world."

Banana Republic Appeal

Peel back the onion tear squeals
coming from a televised live politico lynch rally
See the sound byte rubber duckie
teflon touting
his favorite effigy combustible hits

Penguin strutting presidential seal
got a billy goat attitude, kicking rude gutter alley
A moving goalpost sway dis plucky,
sour spouting
his most edgy, nitroglycerin lip obits

Give an Orwellian mad props shout out
to this Banana Republic appeal
It’s got plenty of Hammedetha hate, swastika love
Bent cross rules
trolling tropic yellow fever

Rabid delirious cold sweat vanilla doubt,
fascist hope has a death toll knell
It’s got bundles of blitzkrieg love, Haman hate
Coin bossed tools
pull on the hangman’s lever

Banana Republic appeal
got a filthy lucre piggy publican feel
Roman togas behind the keel steering wheel,
Caesars wanton more red dollar bills

Two thousand fraudulent, furrowed years,
crucified cries dripping with Diaspora tears

Banana Republic appeal ...
Legionnaire monkeyshine hurt,
skeleton bones
sabertooth rattle toss
a high yellow alert

Alien fear don’t have to gun tote yield,
power corrupts when a Balaam wields

Scimitar curved insides
swinging sling blade serrated hate
Dividing every Canary gripe state

Carny barker razor edge spit,
spiked with Herod care,
lung pour Raid
the Dixie klear kup of Kool-Aid

Banana Republic appeal ...
heady void, thoughtless swill
Pendulum arc bullet shot
is a guillotine drop done deal

                                               Santo Domingo
Big palm trees and a cool breeze
                                               Merengue... let's dance
                                           Pina Coladas galore
