Best Reason To Cry Poems
Death is but life and life is death, I wonder,
Where does the spirit go when it's released?
Many beliefs have a different thought,
The body is just breathing that has ceased.
We wonder how many years we have left,
We live them like there is no tomorrow,
We dance in sunshine and run from thunder,
Death is but life and life is death, I wonder.
Everyone has their own personal sins,
Hiding in a closet they built of fear,
All have free will to have them unleashed,
Where does this spirit go when it's released?
So many religions do not agree,
The true path to God is forever sought,
I choose to chase spirituality,
Many beliefs have a different thought.
We all have struggles way down deep inside,
With cracks and holes and roads that have now creased,
Believer, atheist, agnostic, all.
The body is just breathing that has ceased.
All you've done is done, no reason to cry,
There is much more as far as I can see,
Did you once try to help humanity?
Is this your blown up personality?
Death is but life.
Upon a drunken path I seemed to be confronting doom
Upon my shoulders I seemed to be carrying a cloud of doom
There I fell crumpled and spiritually shattered
Coddling a heart beaten and battered
Lonely pleas of mercy escaping me
Trembling inside
Begging to be free
Warm winds of wisdom sweeping me away as New York Swagga approached with a smile
Whisperin', "Let's talk for awhile"
I reached out in cautious distress
Circumstance being our first test
His open ears and honest eyes being my beacon of light
His warrior mentality kept me safe that night
Warm winds of wisdom loved me until I could love myself
Warm winds of wisdom dusting off my heart and removing it from its lonely shelf
Nurturing loyalty shaping me
Chivalrous compassion guiding me to the girl I can be
Within warm winds of wisdom I have grown
Within warm winds of wisdom I have found a place I am proud to call home
From the streets to the sky
There be not one reason to cry
Upon a drunken path all seemed lost
My soul had been sacrificed at the highest cost
A feeble prayer was all i could say
Whirling warm winds of wisdom forever blessed me that day
From stumbling to sobriety
From cynical to serenity
From fear to everlasting sanction
My life today has exceeded every expectation
You do not know this,
but there are nights
I willingly fall to the ground,
knocking the wind out of myself,
staring up into infinity,
wishing someone up there
would send you back to me,
As if I deserve it,
As if you still speak my name,
As if time could be conquered
Yet, I allow myself a fantasy,
A breath held for a memory,
In hopes of feeling innocent again,
For innocence became us in childhood,
Blood was unknown to me
For love flowed through my veins,
Heart pumping the shine of your smile
through my entire being in circulation,
Laughter is heard, as stars are seen,
Each twinkle holds a moment of us,
As time has torn us asunder,
Life has revealed new loves,
new loves inspired anger,
anger ensured your hatred of me,
Thus, I became what all now see,
A child changed to cynic,
A poet who hates emotions,
A man who desires no faith,
For nothing moves me now,
Yet my words still know you,
A million apologies failed,
No sense in repeating failure,
No reason to cry more tears
if none will show you my humanity,
My pain now motivates my attitude
Thus, my soul is forever lost,
Despite the aforementioned change,
I still miss you daily, in misery,
with regret that lasts an eternity,
Hope for us, is my hope for heaven,
A paradise I have experienced before,
As I embrace the magic of the moment,
I briefly disregard my own logic,
hoping for an answer from nowhere,
For a chance to desire to change,
to see again, to trust again,
Praying to a god I no longer believe in,
to protect you and never melt your wings,
for I could not recognize you any other way,
I repeat,
You did not know this,
Yet this lets me know,
Heaven or hell,
Life or death,
Angel or human,
God or no god,
I have my opinions,
Yet two truths are proven,
You are an angel to me,
and... I Love You.
Wistful weeping willow why do you cry,
did you espy your leaves falling from on high?
They can’t cling on when a breeze is around,
see them cartwheel as they float to the ground.
Watch how they are dancing now they are free,
see them waltz as they lose their grip on the tree.
Long leaves spiral down and they land in the stream,
they planned their escape; they’ve achieved their dream
Wistful weeping willow you have no reason to cry;
when the wind blows, wave your leaves a last goodbye.

Gunshots be leavin 'em children alone
they gotta find a way all on they own
kids screamin out sets for hope
then run around with a crew slangin dope
can't forget that they saw they fathers go
witness to earth the bloodiest show
to young to truly understand
despite what ya heard God won't hold your hand
It seems to me that we've been forlorn
destined death after death to mourn
lookin at the future of us all
death to brothas come at a sudden call
little children begin to see the light
keep on killin knowin that it ain't right
but desperation sets in hopin for death
because it's to painful to take another breath
How many of my brotha's died last week
an an answer given not for the weak
life like this shoulda made us sick
creepin in streets tryin not to get licked
time again are numbers start to dwindle
hopein for knew life in this race to be kindled
but all we ever do is disappear
it's funny that are lives are consumed by fear
and are youngstas reproduce fast
more brothas get shot lives endin in head casts
why do we gotta die at such a rate
a brotha feel cold heat as if it's fate
and as my brothas always seem to die
my race got another reason to cry
little niggas is our only men
no more elders in my dearest black kin
Now we got kids runnin da street
that means, the judge and jury da heat
the boys in blue pilein up da dead
crackas in th oval office shakein da head
the ghettos so lost can we find a way
it seem's that the only hope we got is to pray
and children already learn how god do
give to those who take so we take with a 22
now we gotta cope, sippin' on brew
gettin faded thinkin bout the dirt we do
and that just make a brotha think
why we be born livin on da brink
seein bodies fallin fast in packs
cause it be like we forced to fire back
so thelast thing is to put bodies in bags
at da funeral drapin our brothas with rags
She lived in an Edenic world, a paradise,
this child-like virgin of only sixteen years.
Moonlight glowed in her virtous blue eyes,
unaware that life could fill them with tears.
A budding beauty whose petals were tender,
and fragile were her wings, not yet able to fly.
Fallen from grace when she chose to surrender,
for the loss of her purity, she had reason to cry.
Robert Frost wrote, 'Nothing Gold can Stay.'
His metaphor for innocence is a poignant line.
Whether her naivete was given or taken away,
it can never be restored. For it, she can only pine.
Child-like she will be no more; as a plucked flower
whose petals have fallen. Lost are her angelic wings.
No longer an innocent maiden kept in a castle tower.
'Oh, to be a child again,' the mournful song she sings.
~Show me a reason!~
Show me a reason to pray
Show me a reason to whine about
Show me a reason to be happy about
Show me a reason to cry for
Show me a reason to laugh out loud
Show me a reason to be passionate about
Show me a reason to waste my time on
Show me a reason to work for
Show me a reason to hide
Show me a reason to seek
Show me a reason to hate
Show me a reason to love
Show me a reason to chase the meaning
Show me a reason to live!
And I find a single reason
The one whom I love the most
My Self
-puvi-
A lot of reasons to cry
A lack of reasons to smile
Shall I cry
Or once again try
My heart is daunting
My mind is pondering
Time has ended
My luck has fainted
My mind has amended
But my innerself is not contented
Again I collapsed with my failure
Again I cried at my failure
But this time I won't lose hope
Its my last innings
I won't lose hope
Untill I keep working hard on my goal
I shall World hard excreedingly
And once again win monstrously
Then I shall have alot of reasons to smile
But none reason to cry
The Past
See the past soar through the sky!
Memories painted on the wings of a butterfly.
Fluttering away,
Gone bye.
Fly across my sky,
Beautiful butterfly.
No reason to come back.
No reason to cry.

Sunsphere
Sunsphere, purple to orange,
yellow in the middle,
setting at the rear.
Behind the wheel, gripping the steel,
Apollo, anxious, scans for falling flowers
along the roadside.
My petal scent
permeates the Lumina —
maroon in colour,
interior tone matching.
It is his ride,
our style.
I will never leave, even if we wreck
at breakneck speed.
I’ve got the need;
he’s got the deed.
My own Jimmy Dean —
flashing red and green,
amber
and lean,
colours of the scene,
of the chase.
The urban heart paces
its own race to the climax,
where it might end,
where it might dissolve away
in a state of perfect pink bliss.
The body’s calibrated systems all lined up
for twenty seconds of elation.
I tune the station.
He smiles at the recognition.
This song carried us along —
all the pit stops, all the speed bumps.
It first played eons past:
sweet sixteen, neon skies blast
green wonder overhead.
He was not there; we had not met.
A song that touched the loneliness inside.
I realized I was not like everyone else;
I excommunicated myself.
And when I found him, I denied this song existed.
It reminded me of that time before my heart enlisted
in the endless dream.
I pretended I had never experienced sadness.
I was in pure spirit —
not doctored by my own health
or chemistry.
I was strong,
untouched by the dirty empires.
But it was false.
I had already fallen in the mud.
Music was the rope
holding me close.
No one offered their arms,
no one offered their charms
to save me from dismay.
I clung to whole notes
and registers —
treble and bass.
I only had theory to seal my edges.
I was not restrained, not in feeling
nor in the larynx.
I was fixated on expression,
the lexicon of my wounded soul.
He smiles at the remembrance
as the song plays again —
not because the lyrics are happy
or because it calls back pleasant polaroids.
We are still here,
cohabiting the vessel of our escapade,
together,
rolling through the hills of sonic recollection.
And here, in the passenger seat of an old Chevy,
I can finally name my sorrow
I can let the tears rise
if they wanted to break the levy of my eyes —
forest-coloured iris —
if I had reason to cry
Suicidal thoughts kept running through my head
Thinking maybe i'll be better off dead
My life is like algebra hard to find a solution
To me killing myself was the only option
Slowly cutting my wrist with a razor blade
Leaving scars on my skin that will never fade
Whenever i sit an try to figure out why
All i get is flashbacks and a reason to cry
Each day that goes by there is a battle to face
With someone telling me i'm such a disgrace
It's like no one cares about me or my feelings
Because the more i try to change the less they start caring
Calling me names like ***** an hoe and other hurtful thing you won't want to know
I really wish my life could start over
And maybe everything will be much better
But for now i'll stay in this cold hearted world
And maybe i"ll have a story to be told

Summertime…they say the livin’ is easy,
Flowers growin’ and the sun’s sittin’ high.
They say your Daddy’s rich and your Momma’s so good lookin’;
So hush now pretty baby…there's no reason to cry.
One of these days, you’re gonna rise up smilin’.
Take a look around and think you’ve got it all.
You’ll have your Momma’s looks, all your Daddy’s money,
And all the boys in town at your beck and call.
Summertime…Yes, the livin’ is so easy,
Laughin’, singin’, havin’ so much fun.
No time to stop and think about your future
And what life will bring when Summer’s done.
‘Cause Summertime, it don’t last forever.
Breezes cool and the leaves begin to fall;
And in your quiet moments, you'll sit and wonder
How you came so far, but have no love at all.
Summertime....They said the livin’ was easy;
Ain’t it sad how fast the good times fly;
And now, your Momma’s looks and all your Daddy’s money
Another sweet, warm Summer’s day they cannot buy.
His proposal
Darling will you marry me? I’ll love you for eternity
With honour and hope all of my life, I want to make you my wife
My worldly goods will be yours and I’ll cherish you forever
In sickness and in health, I will leave you never.
Darling this is the best honeymoon, I have ever been on.
Do you know where my golf clubs are? They seem to have gone.
No you can’t go shopping we cannot afford
I have payments to make on my holiday abroad
Darling I need a shirt for tonight’s dinner,
I’m going to the golf clubs for the awards for the winner
No, you don’t need a new outfit, that one you have on will do
Why do you want a new one, that apron really suits you.
Darling we need the money that’s why you do the dishes
If I could afford to have you with me, it would grant me all my wishes.
My shoes need cleaning, I need clean underwear too
I don’t know why you haven’t done them you seem to have nothing to do.
Darling the grass needs cutting why have you left it so long
I think you should do it now, while I just listen to this song
You always say you are tired but I really don’t know why,
You only work twelve hours a day and that’s no reason to cry.
Disappointment /// Disillusioned
If only it could be known ?, if it be told
why my youngest Child, becomes meanly bold.
If only the truth be seen, the tale would unfold.
Regardless – she in my heart – I will always hold
even if – to these devils – her soul, she has sold.
My little world has come tumbling down,
uncertainty, heartache, fear for all around.
My life, no longer planted firmly on the ground.
Insignificant ?, I feel !, – not a ripple, not a wave
as I – carelessly thrown into the fray of a deep blue sea –
await my fate in the gloom and doom of impending eternity
as my youngest Daughter, prepares me for the grave.
This Beautiful Child, - goes ugly at times – Mel, Melanie,
seems determined - hell bent and hell bound to destroy me
by any means – one way or by any other
acting like – becoming so much like her mother,
following in the foot steps- wearing the boots of her sister,
Mandy, who can be a child without feelings, nothing to register
a sign, a belief in – there seems to be nothing to family ties.
It seems to be ?, all I feel from her, see with these old eyes
and have to wonder ?, has it died ?, all gone dry ?
Is my life ?, are my Friends, my Family – lost – reason to cry,
cry !!!, as all seems to have been going down the road, toward dust.
Do I accept ?, live without ?, I guess, move on I must,
as, upon this old metal – my life – things begin to rust,
become the poisons eating away
at what is left – taking me to that end day.
All that is left for me to do ?, it seems, is pray !!!
In my heart, in my mind, my memory, they will always stay
even if ?, in the physical, in the spiritual, my Girls are gone,
doing the things they must and continuing to move on
towards a world of bigger ( I pray ) and better things.
Things taking them beyond their mother / me, what life brings
to them, that has tortured, haunted and torn them apart,
allowing them a better future – then their past – and a new start
and hopes – from me – that all the negativity will depart.

********************** Mario Rocha is an old friend of mine from California who was wrongfully imprisoned for over 7 years. He was stabbed several times while locked up, but left the State Penn. a seasoned poet! This one's for you Super Mario!***************
A child's life evaporated
gone in a second's time
arrived to a teenage party
arrested
for a gang banger's crime
a night spent with friends
fifteen,
acting his age
the remainder of his years
left to die in a cage
so many witnesses
none could tell
speak truth, you die
and family
pays the hell
aboard a train
that stops for no one
guilt or none
receiving a fair retrial
has rarely been done
the kid never lost
the battles
in his head
but exercised his demons
with words instead
freedom taken
but none could rob him
of the dreams in his heart
though his nemeses stopped at nothing
to rip
his life apart
still that prison train
blazed down the track
tried to silence him
with fifteen stab wounds
to his back
they failed to kill him
only made him stronger
but his family knew
he wouldn't last
much longer
unknown enemies
returned with more severity
the second time
ensuring the kid paid
for someone else crime
they failed again
justice kept him breathing
the same justice
that's been absent
since that fateful evening
innocent
he never gave up hope
there were no obstacles
in life
for which he couldn't cope
just as the belief
of his strongest loved ones
began to disappear
his unbreakable faith
became crystal clear
through painstaking persistence
justice was served
during the fair retrial
he and his family
always deserved
incarcerated,
the boy became a man
much older than years
writing was his therapy
protecting him from fears
through all the pain
self-pity never gave him
a good reason to cry
even though they chose him
wrong place...wrong guy
