bits? crumbs? dregs?
smoothed-over leftovers?
No, thank you
I've had enough.

She barks, "Turn your cheek!"
She leaves her handprint on it.
"And now the other!"
A zig of happiness sparked the upper peninsulas
Of my wildebeest heart, a mere tich.
Could that teensy beginning shake my
Anger, which I had determinedly
Held onto for three weeks longer
Than anyone sane should have?
Come on, the spark said, laughing. Come
And play. We can be mad tomorrow.
I was not in the least bit tempted.
Stubbornness held me fast.
I refused her offer, the lifeline
She was giving me. I ignored the
Light, and held on to my
Enmeshed hurt feelings,
Holding onto my rage
As a shield, afraid of whom I
Might become without her.
It’s raining hammers and nails
The storms are rusty
And hang in the sky
The pews are shadowed
And the apse is silent
Sinners are upon their knees
Darkness descends upon the day
A lantern swings in the storm
The executioner is hooded
Silent and cold
A shadow upon the Mother Mary
Jesus has nothing to say
The Holy Ghost is walking in circles
The door it gently sways
And through it he see’s
His mother and sister
Heads hung so low
His life is gray as steel
He knows no future
Yet is certain of it
Death hovers in the air
Praying for a miracle
While strapped to a chair
The lightning strikes
And takes it toll
For the executioner has done his work
The lights went out
And came back on
But by then he was gone
The appointment was made
He paid the price
For killing twice
The third one was on the State.
Troy, The Defeat, Odysseus Punishment
Apollo, the archer-god, was quite unfair
Slew Eurytus for a vain archery boast
Mortal lives he had so very little care
Sending Greek ships sailing to the coast
Helen of Sparta, beauty beyond compare
face that launched a thousand ships
She of perfect face , body and hair
Paris stole this prize on his epic trip
Mighty hosts of epic fame and renown
sailed away to retrieve this treasure
Oaths given to hunt Troy's Paris down
Sacking the great city for good measure
Tens years of battles history so records
Heroes of brave deeds, tales now told
Great warriors , sworn to mighty Lords
Fought in the style of the swords of old
War was long and death was so redundant
Odysseus, devised a very cunning deceit
Pray upon Troy's hopes so very abundant
Victory, the sailing away of Greek fleet
A gift of a horse statue left on shore
Warriors hidden within its outer shell
Planned surprise attack just once more
Sack Troy sending its warriors to hell
Such a success was this devious plan
Troy fell to its most relentless foes
Death harvested wrath upon every man
Brought Odysseus trials the story goes
Odysseus warrior of Troy's epic defeat
Master of the great bow of Eurytus fame
Destroyer of Troy by such cunning deceit
Slayer sailed away, Troy in all in flame

note: Eurytus' grandfather was Apollo, the archer-god,
and was also a famed archer. Eurytus has been noted by
some as the one who taught Heracles the art of archery.
According to Homer, Eurytus became so proud of his
archery skills that he challenged Apollo. The god
killed Eurytus for his presumption, and Eurytus' bow
was passed to Iphitus, who later gave the bow to his
friend Odysseus. It was this bow that Odysseus used to
kill the suitors who had wanted to take his wife,
Penelope.

Loving you is cruel and unusual punishment.
When I met you, I should have started running to a tent.
I simply can't handle it. This is cruel and unusual punishment.
You dropped the bomb on me and I cannot pick up the pieces.
Your love to me was like Red Hots covered in Reese's Pieces.
After I got the sweet peanut buttery treat then the mouth
Of the river of my love got hot from the other layer that
Tastes and feels like the cinnamony Red Hots. It's no longer
Like Folgers it feels good to the last drop but I don't want it
And it want to stop. I feel like calling the cops because loving
You is a crime and it's taking too much time to end this
Love it's cruel and unusual punishment.

Capital punishment
When a state
Kills a convicted murderer
The state
Becomes like the killer
Murdering the defenseless
In the toxic word
Of justice
Crime & Punishment
By
Tom Wright
There once was a scoundrel called Black Bart,
Who thought appropriating bank money was smart.
Until the sheriff got wind,
And to his jail he did send,
When in court he begged the judge to have heart.
(I think I made a mistake in the title I gave this. That's why it got so few reads. For any who already read it, I apologize. This is a shameless attempt to garner more reads.)
In These Cases, We Have Judgment Here
By Elton Camp
There’s no need for laws to make polygamy a crime
Some protest, “We must deal with that ball of slime.
How can we let such wicked conduct unpunished be?”
But I have this to say, “Of so little faith are such as ye.”
A man who takes to himself more than a single wife
Gets punishment enough by his life filled with strife
Marrying only one wife will bring problems galore
To take on multiples will certainly bring many more
The polygamist will be so nagged and shoved about
That he should’ve stayed a bachelor, he won’t doubt
You needn’t bother passing laws, my righteous friend
Because this is a crime that’s self-punishing in the end
Cruel and Unusual Punishment 8th Amendment
Of particular news was a protrusion
Upsetting people with a serious infusion
About proportion of a pharmaceutical
Enough to raise and curl your cuticle
Cruel and unusual punishment create an exclusion.
This should be blocked and not allowed
to exist in our society. According to
Code of Hammurabi cruel as well as
unusual and capital punishment never
had any effect on people killing each
other. Capital punishment should be
removed from our social etiquette.
What do you think.

Capital punishment
What year is it
I'm being spank with a switch
I am guilty
Mama whooping me
In 1960's
With a switch
a belt
some schools then a 2 by 4 paddle
For what I've done wrong
Lying the stealing
Who am I to call foul
God knows I know ma and pa do to
Even Jesus got whipped
But the difference
HE WAS TRULY INNOCENT
But the Father's plan
Him and Jesus allowed soldier man
To whip Him take His life
To pay the price
To save all mankind, their life
This sinless MAN CHRIST
Who always done right
Paid the price took the whooping's shed blood for us
Now if you spare the rod
You'll spoil the child
Far better to be spank righteously
No emotions or mali just reprimanding
Spank just as givin better for you to do it
Thank for the world to whip them
You'll make them just shed tears
While the world will draw blood and steal their souls
For what I've done wrong
Lying the stealing
Who am I to call foul
God knows I know ma and pa do to
Capital punishment
What year is it
I'm being spank with a switch
I am guilty
Mama whooping me
Now I'm a man grown up
What happens now when I'm disobedient
The Father spanks me
But His mercies and grace
Gives me another chance
So if I just turn around and change my ways
Capital punishment
What year is it
I'm being spank with a switch
I am guilty mama whooping me
Yes I was guilty so not to change the subject
I dottily dissevered capital punishment

It's over.
Two words of escape.
That's all I could muster.
...I saw her face later that day,
and couldn't fathom why I had ever turned away.
I couldn't escape the possibility that it had been a mistake.
She's so beautiful,
With her brown skin bound inside that tight white dress.
When she touches my lips,
She's on fire.
Breathing her pain into my masochism
with every kiss.
Her face shines like the sun,
enveloping all the dark in the room.
And I breathe while I still can....
Hoping for another moment of pleasure.
Begging to be sated.
She taunts me as she dances her way
back into my life;
Knowing that I can't say no to the taste.
That I'm addicted.
I take her in again,
and hold her tight.
She screams into me,
letting me know she still has control.
I fight for position,
but I'm weak in the arms
of my praxis.
My punishment.

Regarding capital punishment, I have the following question;
Why do they sterilize the inmate's arm prior to lethal injection?
Are they concerned that before he dies that he'll get an infection?
In the cells of the king Edaroes
There are twelve royal girls with sore toes,
And they will there be kept
For at night when all slept,
They slipped out and danced holes in their shoes.
