Premium Member In Pursuit of a Promise

A promise should never remain silent.

In pursuit of our principal pledge -
I ponder her secret garden,
within the province of our paradise.

For her love is
an Utopian secret supernova,
shining celestially -
through a canopy of olive leaves.

Where I hope to stand motionless,
lost in her redolent radiance

so my soul searches

for the path of plum slate and
golden stepping stones, leading to her
idyllic untouched flower garden.

Admiring evocative vibrant petals,
wishing to float like a million butterflies,
breathing blissful blessings -
upon balmy bewitching blossoms

I shall surround myself in her artistry,
enchanted with her ethereal tranquility.

Love remains secure within her elusive oyster.
My ink will emulate a million subtle reflections,
until reunited with my precious opulent pearl.

He has announced his arrival. She waits,
Listening to the thunder cracking through
the layers of air. Looking at the lightning,
brightening and frightening the darkness away,
Lapping up the sweet petrichor that comes her way.
He gushes and rushes down to meet her.
In warm welcome, she opens up
to quench her unsatisfied thirst.
The twain meet and a silence follows,
As thick as the mist that envelops this inexplicable gloom.
Emotions flood the watery lane...
His constant showers drench her very soul...
New life awakens as old lives are cleansed, refreshed.
The earth has had her fill...
For now...
Drip...
          drip...
                     drip...
Slowly the gentleman rain recedes...
He will come...
                         yet again...
                                             to meet her...
With this rainbow promise, they part...

I
Will
Kiss you
While you sleep
Lady dressed in white
And melt your cold heart made of ice

Then
You
Will rise
Liquefied
High into the sky
And fall as raindrops from God’s eyes

To
The
Waiting
Buds below
Where now you will grow
With me - in the bloom of a rose

'There is no silence in poetry.'

As I swing back and forth,
surrounded by an abundance of petals,
I still remember being a stranger,
in a foreign land.

Sun shone so strong that day,
as I traveled through the 'hustle and bustle,'
of pastry shops and fruit stalls,
until the path became narrow and dusty.

Soldiers stood guard in tall towers,
as pious ones prepared for prayers -
but my footsteps of fate,
were only devoted to you.

As I entered through an iron gate,
anxiously anticipating our first glance.
I admired fragrant blossoms -
until your scent drifted past,
like a sweet refreshing tepid breeze.

Innocence of your soul reflected,
through those almond brown eyes.
Shyness of your sleek smile,
created an angelic visage -
pious ones supplicated in service,
but it felt like I was the one in heaven.

So many poetic thoughts came to mind,
yet I could not find a metaphor to justify it -
yet poetry can never remain silent.

As your eyes told me a story,
that has yet to be told -
I saw you hiding in trenches,
dug deep into your heart -
so I spoke to you in a language,
only you would understand.

Promising to take you away,
from all the trials and tribulations,
plaguing your mind.

One day when our hands lock,
we will gaze towards horizon's hued tones,
lost in the delight of twilight's twinkling stars,
till sunrise illuminates through our eyes.

Together life will become beautiful,
as we venture from Giza's pyramid,
to the temple of Artemis.
Watch as our footsteps wash away,
along white sands of Boracay beach,
as we bathe in its calm 'crystal clear' sea.

Yet nothing will be as beautiful as you.

'Poets are patient, but their pens are not.'

Premium Member When a Poet's Promise Dies

I tried to create a poetic dream,
to fulfill our promise,
but we became a victim
to fate's wounding ways.

My flower garden lies in ruins,
suffering in silence -
my lips unable to kiss her back to life.

In the demise of our destiny,
there is no reincarnation.
Hope fades with each withering petal,
perishing to our unfulfilled vow.

Stench of regret pollutes dark, damp air.
Winds wander, weeping woefully,
whispering condolences for our tragedy.

Delicately, as if it was your soul,
I place the last blooming rose,
close to my heart -
hoping, one day,
to reunite it with you.

I can see butterflies,
drowning in puddles of lament -
helpless in this unforeseen storm.

I sense the angst of disorientated bees.
Their queen deprived of nectar,
they pine in distress -
yearning to be close to her.

Sun rises, veiled in a black blanket.
Birds sing songs of sorrow,
soaking in sombre sadness.
A mournful chorus,
which only increases the pain.

Her image reflects through my eyes.
Her voice echoes in my mind.
I crave for darkness, tired of shadows,
look to the heavens....

Wondering why?

In this dead end of dreams,
soul bangs against my chest,
crying like stinging winter rain.
I collect each sacred tear,
to keep our last rose hydrated -
to lay it upon your resting place.

A promise has no guarantee.
A poet's pen cannot create forever...

Premium Member Promise of the Pomegranates

Outside the city where the pomegranates grow,
where a heart is free and the sky is wide
where time is slow like a rivers flow
and the crow that flies is your only guide
In orchards wild and row upon row
the pomegranates grow in the countryside.
Such dreams of peace relieve the crush
And guide the sweep of the painter's brush.

Outside the city where the four winds blow
Prolific with seeds the pomegranates grow
And when in winter all covered in snow
the promise of spring and summer bestow
Outside the city where the pomegranates grow
I wait with the wisdom inside that I know
That seasons may come, or seasons may go
And the winds of change may toss us and blow
But in our hearts is a place we may go
Outside the city where pomegranates grow

Premium Member A Promise I Can'T Keep

The sun was setting with a breeze
Seductively sliding behind the trees
Watching his descent
Was quite the event
I witnessed a day to night striptease

He left me with the biggest grin
I must admit with some chagrin
Watching as he changed
Glances were exchanged
I didn't mean to embarrass him

I just kept looking straight ahead
The entire horizon turned bright red
Tomorrow at sunrise
I'll apologize
Promising next time to turn my head

Streaks of anguish like drooping trees
Entrap pale hours across nightscape ,
Then crushing low upon my feet
Each leaf's motion reflects one bid
In neutral shades when moon withdraws--
That all around, on pine and lake,
My flame of hope enkindles breath
To glint beyond November's chill,
Awaiting a young son's return
From war-torn grounds cold as hoarfrost:
Till leaves form a halo , renewed
Adorning yard its lambent sheen,
Through colored tints which now imbue
A promise blest, of new life's course!

The soulful whisper of love’s promise
Is a deep but soft reassuring truth
Spoken while flowing like a flute
From within the soul to be heard
Another heart rests within knowing
This limitless promise is everlasting
To be shared in each valuable moment
Granted by each beautiful day to live
To cherish this promise of trusted unity
Is with respect to be forever gentle
This whisper will never strike to yell
Each heart will never break the other
It is pure as a white rose with dew drops
Delicate as a butterfly’s wings through air
This all created by faith to bloom and fly
Any sacrifice will be made as it is shared
When this is found, it will never be lost
Not even by death, it will still carry on
A soulful promise from earth to heaven
It all begins from the truth of a whisper

Premium Member Sand Promises -POTW

Flip flops and straw hat adorn him, beach wear suits him nicely
Kind is he to her as he scoops into a bucket measuring precisely

Casted are his piteous passions in sunstruck warm sands
Gently shaping and capturing her likeness, she is in skilled hands

Stooping over chin to knee he bares bronze shoulders glimmering
Her features delicate, her hair etched in his mind flowing, shimmering

An energy is sensed as sand and water caress through his fingers
Behold if only Aphrodite answers his prayer, he pauses and lingers

Recollection clears a birth, breath of life be given this inanimate object
A saintly face faintly appears, he’s fallen in love with his imminent project

Sculpting feminine curves slowly surfacing, an hourglass figure shaped
An alluring amazon controls his very soul, an apotheosis angel draped

Belief in a statue which comes to life, vehemently pangs the phenomenon
Alas the last touches fini, fervently he unveils his seaside Pygmalion

And without further ado, emerging from the ivory sand, he prizes
An obsession his idée fixe at the edge of the pier, a sand goddess arises

Jubilation of my triumph, comfort soothing sorrow,
Aspirations of my passions, today and tomorrow,
Reveling reveries-elysian that love brought to fore;
You are the gift I adore, smiling through my yore,
As tenor of forever-love reverberates in your sphere
When extolling you, dear, heartbeats-ardent cheer.

My dear, when I am with you, how fervid souls coo,
Lauding promise of love, mirthful impulses renew,
For you are my musings, my esoteric zealous dream,
My sensuous sassy dawn, hosting romantic theme,
Unfolding treasured albums endearing vibes reveal,
My precious gem of life, sparkling amorous appeal.

Rhythms of my heart, how within your heart attune,
While rejoicing gift of love endearing spirits croon
Vowing pledges eternal, reaffirming bonds anew,
Conferring in lyrics of love, streaming just for you,
For you are my melody, strumming love’s encore~
My verse and sweet chorus: I love you ever more.

Premium Member - Promise Me Tomorrow -

For absolutely no reason at all
The storm was withered in the stagnant air
It seems so incredibly crystal clear quiet

Even if you wanted to paint ... no colors could express
Let this moment pass in quiet gratitude and joy
The real meaning of life bound with ribbon of love

When the sun wakes up tomorrow
Give me a kiss that says everything will be fine

Premium Member Easter's Promise

I gather images of Easter's sign,
bouquets of varied thoughts and memories:
emerging crocus, budding branch, and vine,
the flutter of the robin in the breeze.

Symbolic, too, the lily, pure and white,
new chicks and bunnies, butterflies galore.
The fading, icy sting of winter's night
replaced by spring's warm day, long waited for.

I contemplate each image and I know
the thrill of surging hope that swells my soul.
New life, from dormant seed, will rise and show
how spring joy resurrects from winter's dole.

A new beginning blooms for us, and earth...
        for, Easter promises her gift...rebirth.

My Psw Promise

MY PSW PROMISE
When you first arrived -
Your health was then fading
Your whole world was changing
I promised that I’d see you through.
When you first arrived
Your kids sold your house
You just lost your spouse
I promised that I’d see you through.
When you first arrived
You could barely still walk
You didn't want to talk
I promised that I’d see you through.
Now you’ve been here awhile
I haven’t found your smile
But I am not lying
When I say I’ll keep trying
I promised that I’d see you through
Now you’ve been here awhile
You know ME by my smile
You still talk about dying
I ask you to keep trying
I promised that I’d see you through
Now you’ve been here a bit longer
Look at you getting stronger!
You don’t trust all our staff
But I got you to laugh!
I promised that I’d see you through
You’ve been here a bit longer
In me you’ve grown fonder
You came out to do crafts!
Now we ALWAYS share laughs
I promised that I’d see you through
For it is now Christmas
I ask you your wishes
You say “ Well dear there’s just one!”
You smiled so loud, I smiled so loud
Before your speech had begun
You say “dear when we part”
“Please don't lose your heart”
“For your Heart is what’s seen me through!
I say “Don’t talk about dying!”
This time you weren’t lying
I said well what shall I do?
Your body was aching
My heart was breaking
I promised that I’d see you through
You said “oh my sweet love”
“For I’ll be just above”
You indeed were my friend now too
You squeezed my hand one more time
During our final goodbye
After you died, I sat down and cried
But one thing I knew was true
That oh my sweet love
Now my angel above
You Promised you see me through too
