Premium Member 70 Years Past Midnight - Part II

.. continued

Flag-lowering is a daily observance at the Wagah Border, open to the public this day.

On our view of the gate:

   l --- Bharat ------------------------------------------------- India --- l

A crowd gathers on either side - Eleven thousand are provided seats.
Not unlike a cricket match, except everyone leaves satisfied.

(Communalism - it caused two parts of a whole to drift apart.
Seven decades later and to this day, sweets are exchanged across the frontiers.)

With measured steps they neatly stride, a silver blade in hand upright.

Handmade badges turned to gallantry ribbons..
a soldier’s uniform is always lined.

revered fabric
draped across two sturdy palms
              nation in his arms

~Late Evening TV Coverage of the morning’s events - The Prime Minister’s speech~

A crew stands on nine years of sandstone - A bird’s view from afar.

Hailed by music
he walked into a constellation of schoolchildren
‘Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high’.

Acceptance is the first step towards change:
Violence in the name of faith is unacceptable.

"In the New India, the biggest strength is democracy.
But we cannot reduce ours to mere ballot boxes. Our resolve is to have a democracy where people are not driven by the system, but the system by the people."

 I watch the proceedings
many states away

                nation in our hopes

Seeded

"Seeded"

planted in the mind, another way of being
outside spectrum, the act of forgiveness
the lore of love, united with the Seven Sisters

"The Pleiadean Frequency"

“Suddenly they all fell off the edge into the sky, where they all turned into stars."

“One day, as they danced, they found themselves rising little by little into the air, their heads being light through hunger. How this happened they did not know, but one said, “Do not look back, for something strange is taking place”. A woman, too, saw them rise and called them back, but with no effect, for they still rose slowly above the earth. She ran to the camp, and all rushed out with food of every kind, but the children would not return, though their parents called piteously after them. But one would even look back, and he became a falling star. The others reached the sky, and are now what we call the Pleiades, and the Onondagas Oot-kwa-tah. Every falling or shooting star recalls the story, but the seven stars shine on continuously, a pretty band of dancing children.”

Car Court

CAR COURT

Enter, the older heavyweight steel giant,
The bailiff, a 1954 Hudson, reads unhesitant :
On the docket for this morning : guilty by implication - a Trabant,

In close custody with a Cutlass Supreme for supervision.
Next on the docket: a Pinto for likely gas-tank explosion.
Third on the docket: an English-made car (any marque) - body corrosion.

Lawyer for the prosecution, a pretentious character, a gas guzzler SUV
4x4 off-road with winch - for Saturday use on driveway only -
Hangs out with Vettes; and uses NO2 in fuel. Who?Drugs? Not me!

Downbeat guy as the defence counsel , a solid no nonsense Hummer,
A real enviro-bummer,
Klutzy ugly and personality like a mack truck in summer.

Trabant coughed its way to the stand.
Clerk of court Volkswagen, order in hand,
Read the indictment quietly, efficiently, bland.

Prosecution began with noisy opening musical-horn tunelets
The jury, all serious-minded stolid Volvos and Toyota Starlets
Were not impressed. Hummer clumsily interrupted with an objection, “Let’s

Stop, on the grounds of precedent,” but at this point Pinto reversed,
Crushed its trunk and its gas-tank exploded, and worst ,
Hit the the English car : and into flames they both burst.

Cutlass argued with the SUV, which was winched away pending sentence.
Case against the English car dismissed from lack of evidence.
Trabant was deported back to Germany: no import licence

Overseeing all these proceedings : the ever-reliable, I-won’t-budge,
The I-have-a-spotless-reputation, I-hold-no-grudge,
The mechanical virgin, the silent Rolls Royce as judge.

Ode to the people of Norway

Strophe

O, the darkness has descended on a paradise
Of Norway’s bounties of nature
On the people living a quiet life
Not concerned about the politics ever
A drug addict, calling himself a warrior
Taking pride of being a savior of Europe
Unmindful of the death toll of the young
Rejoicing in the tears falling from their eyes
A Hitler has raised his ugly head up
Polluting the minds of the old and the young.

Antistrophe

But trying to take a refuge to insanity
Taking drugs to make himself efficient and awake
Priding over to start war for years sixty
Pleading not guilty to terrorism namesake
Though confessing to bombing and rampage
But remaining unaffected by what happened
Thus his plea assures him of future court hearings
By the attacks Norway is riveted with rage
By Breivik’s paranoid writings stunned
Hundreds thronged the courthouse proceedings.

Epode

With tears in their eyes people paid homage
To the victims laying roses a few feet deep
While the killer faces 21 years in prison
The stiffest sentence can be given by a Norwegian judge
His lawyer says the whole case suggests his client is insane
The Royal couple consoled people and tears shed
The prime minister called it a national tragedy
And summed it up “evil can never defeat a nation”
The killer may enjoy Halden, the luxurious jail in the world
Where cells have flat TV and designer furniture facility.

True Self

TRUE SELF

Then silence strikes and the urge to sequence words pushes harder
Pushing me harder to plate out my thoughts for the world to immerse into the original art that I bring before their eyes
I am none other than a true copy of my being
I am proud to present myself with actual uniqueness to the world out there
Uniqueness that unveils my talents.
I am none other than a true descendant of true Africans... Writing skills imparted on me by my ancestors
I present True aspects that urge the enemy to lure in vanity... lure in vanity for their wish for my fall shall never prosper...
Quantity, quality... is there any piece of art to describe the value of life contained in your body... when is it a lot? When is it little?
I separate the body and life for life never ends...it’s the body that ends
Life never ends…it just resides in places where no human eye can see.
Truthfulness to oneself, a quality that lacks in masses but never deviates ...it never deviates in value for you shall never go wrong in being true to yourself… trust in oneself.

My dexterity...my guide to humble beginnings, proceedings and endings
I am none other than a true descendant of exquisite minds...my ancestors
I write not in other form but in spirit...for the spirit know it all.
I write in higher state of mind for these are not my words...I am just a messenger for the departed…those in the land of peace…watching over us
Playing with words is my favourite game...for it gives me a sense of wholeness. It completes me I love me
I come in different forms for great spirits reside in me.
Never feel amazed when you see me sparkling more than the other days for I am diverse.

You Only Have Yourself To Blame

You're mad because I told your husband the truth.
You cheated on him and I showed him the proof.
Instead of being angry, you should be ashamed.
You cheated and you only have yourself to blame.

You tried to convince your hubby that my proof was misleading.
But he could see the truth and he started divorce proceedings.
Because you were unfaithful, the judge didn't give you squat.
The clothes on your back were the only things that you got.

Your good life is gone and that's something you regret.
You once drove a Porsche but now you drive a Chevette.
Because of your infidelity, you were tossed out into the street.
If you ever find another rich man, you'd better not cheat.

Premium Member Grin and Bare It

Sometimes life can get a little rough

“Grin And Bear It”

Or should that be “Grin and BARE It”

Sounds like good advice

Grinning and baring it can be a whole lot more fun

But make sure your friends have all gone home

And the kiddies are tucked away in their beds fast asleep

Before you and your mate start prancing around in the nude

Doing and saying all those naughty things

Like, “nice melons you have there my dear”

This starts the whole proceedings

She responds with, “nice frontal protrusion!”

Immediately, the fun begins and the house starts rockin'

All because you, “Grinned And Bared it!”

Premium Member The Pocket Door

There is a building down town in the MIDST Of POVERTYVILLE called the
POCKET. The pocket is used to store supplies and house programs for the poor.
Open the POCKET DOOR. No need for proof. Of IDENTIFICATION.
LET it be a source of Charitable DONATIONS FOR anyone
In need.

Let the money SURGE.
LET ALL PHILANTHROPISTS SPLURGE.
AND screams of DELIGHT the impoverished plight.
Open. The POCKET DOOR. LET THE POCKET MONEY BE
EARMARKED for the poor, PROVISIONS and PRIZES for
Prosperity.

Grants in tow. Watch. BILLIONS POUR .
DESTITUTE UNITE. PARTIES AT THE FIGHT. THE LAND OF
MILK AND HONEY.
Tear. Stained faces UNFUNNY. REVOLUTION AT HAND.
VIOLENCE IN THE STREETS, IN THE STRANDS.
PROSECUTORIAL PROCEEDINGS HAVE BEGAN.
DNA IN QUESTION
DNA INFECTION?
In actual WE NEED billions in capital for ANTI-POVERTY
PROGRAMS.
Hear the people roar WE NEED MORE, OPEN THE POCKET DOOR!

The POCKET is a PROGRAM for ANYONE in need.
Money KNOWS not where it FALLS. WITNESS all the poor
ENTHRALLED.
Let the POCKET have earmarks for poorly proforming SCHOOLS.
APPOINT TZARS to oversee COLLEGE PROGRAMS IN MASS.
The POCKET should be EXPANDED not discarded as trash.

OPEN THE POCKET DOOR WIDE AND STILL WIDER UNITIL EVERY
IMPOVERISHED MOUTH HAS HAD ITS FILL.

Premium Member Christmas Letters

'Tis so nice at Christmas time to receive a colorful array of cards,
From kith and kin sending their warmest Yuletide regards.
I don't mind receiving bills or a summons to serve on a jury,
But opening a card and finding a Noel letter causes me some fury!

Such missives detail the doings of their entire family tree.
I have no idea who they're talking about - it matters not to me.
Their perfect kids are doing great, earning scholarships to Yale,
Yet there is no mention of one who 'tis well known ended up in jail!

So they bought each of the kids a brand new DTS Cadillac,
And they vacationed at their fancy condo in Fond du Lac,
But no mention that Mom and Dad are due in county court,
To begin bankruptcy proceedings since money has come up short!

Junior is a super-star on the local high school football team.
No doubt he'll be picked for an NFL team - that is his dream.
But no mention that he was quietly benched during mid-season.
He was caught smoking something funny seems to be the reason!

I enjoy receiving traditional cards depicting Santa's ponderous girth,
And especially those telling of the dear Savior's wondrous birth,
But please spare me those inane letters and their gobbledegook!
I'd just as soon relax by the fire and peruse my telephone book!

Premium Member Rumor Has It

1.
Rumor has it on heavens above
Among the angels’ divine sphere
That God after very much though
Decided in man’s life to interfere

2.
For He has observed Man’s mistakes
Which lately too many came to be
To endanger the whole of creation
Act with which God can never agree

3.
So the Lord has most recently chosen
The book of life before long to reprint
Revising certain of its very old chapters
While others out will leave, He has hint

4.
The concern of humans is now to know
Which chapters the book will not contain,
Which are going to be, somehow, revised
And which intact will forever remain

5.
What was heard through the vine though,
It was Man’s huge and unbearable vanity
That made our almighty Lord and creator
To finally exclude the chapter of humanity

6.
The reason our God in His infinitive wisdom
Reached such unexpected for Mankind conclusion
Is the fact that Man during his reign on earth
Has hurt our planet with his insensitive intrusion

7.
It might still be time for Man overall to be saved
If he started correcting his many mistakes soon
Beginning by respecting life and the whole planet
And stop behaving as a dim-witted buffoon.

* According to UN’s most recent report (March 2014) “We are in an era where
climate change isn’t some kind of future hypothetical,” said Chris Field, one of
the two main authors of the report, and Rajendra Pachari chair of the IPCC
(Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) added: “Nobody on this planet
is going to be untouched by climate change.” For that UN suggested measures
to be taken immediately for to save the planet.
Moreover, the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences ( PNAS),
announced that " Researchers have found out that pollutants are strengthening storms ...plus endanger the health of people."

*Dear friends, as you see the poem was written on the 7th of April today- 15 April 2014- unfortunately, I found out that I am absolutely right to say what I say, for the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences ( PNAS), announced that " Researchers have found out that pollutants are strengthening storms ..." My poem is not just philosophical, it is the reality for our planet is a living organism with inviolable laws which we have to respect otherwise we have to face the consequences! THANK YOU ALL for caring!

You Cannot Choose Your Family Nor Forgive There Mistakes If All They Do Is Hurt

The best writters write about what they know

So i was told or so the story goes

So what better then to write about than one's very own family and lasting memories

So let me start by saying this is neither a good or happy one to tell

And to this day still leaves a bitter taste and so many questions left unanswered

And is about or revolves around the treatment of my grandad by his only son

My Mum is one of 2 children 7 year's older than her younger brother Thomas

Who used to visit his daughter lisa
regularly who lived right next door adjacent to his childhood home

And when seeing him pulling up the smile upon my granddad face as he used to think our Thomas will be calling in to see us when he is done only to be replaced by pain and embarrassment when he cruely drove away

People used to say and it was widely thought or known in jest that i was my granddads favorite

But i knew that sadly wasn't true and
my place when he looked right through me and nothing i could do say could reconcile his broken heart

Luckily my Mum came home to live and look after her father and nursed him until the day he died when he eventually called in

The prodigal son then returned with will in hand
to take over proceedings from here on in

Better late than never i suppose ?

Oh yeah that's right

Sorry that phrase does not apply
in this case

As to why you let him die or go to his
grave without explaing ?

What exactly he could have done so wrong
to have had such a bitter vindictive son ?

Just how cruel and careless can 1 human be to another
than not to afford them 1 single moment of your precious time

No final word no venting no getting off your chest
no restitution no absolution

You used to go out with his best friend for a pint
to the pub for a drink but never invited him

And told your sister upon her arrival back to look after him
you can come and stay with us you can't stay with him his house is not liveable in

You through whom i ended up buying and owning the deeds to your family home because that you grew up in as a child
because you valued money and wanted your share and half

Who you eventually came to realize that which you prize
I now own i will never sell back to thee

Because what you did to my granddad your father was
genuinely unforgivable

Morning Muster

The morning has started with a trace of a dew
An ascent through the tussock ignites the new day
Trailing huntaways eager to work on the ewes
Awaited shrill whistles loose the dogs on their prey.

A new shepherd surveys as proceedings unfold
Sinewy figures employing hill sticks with care.
Spectacular vistas with a dawn of pure gold
Formidable mountains looking solemn and bare.

Below a glass lake reflects sharp rugged peaks
A boat carves the water, slicing the image in half.
Sounds of dogs barking as sheep break from a creek
White ribbons slowly form in planned choreograph.

Shepherds whistles are mingled with thousands of bleats
Descending sheep merging to form an earth cloud.
Above dust and steam rise, as if to compete
Wisps of white rolling as matagouri stands proud.

A fantail flits on the first hints of the breeze
While a waxeye settles amid two twists of barb wire.
As sheep reach a plateau, the expanse seems to tease
Though allured, dogs restore order on sheep that inquire.

Searching mouths hastily nibble tests of fresh grass
Stragglers are hastened by gleeful dogs and their bark
Looking back up the hill the commotion has passed
Hawks floating on thermals within a large arc.

Mid morning arrives as the sheep enter the yards
Dogs climbing in troughs and having rest in the sun
The new shepherd knows this is his time to safeguard
His future life on the land has now just begun.

Our World Today

My heart is yet on the globe,
The erroneous proceedings from Adam;
Which led to successive diversity,
Further deepening till this morning,
The bleeding sore of disintegration,
Bequeathed to the result of today.

Seven continents they become,
Originally one as trinity;
Like that in the upper room,
Distorted accent and language,
Further sinking beneath unity;
To the state at hand today

There was a mind of possibilities
With formidable determination
That benefited from the division
These brains could have been harnessed
To revivify our world,
But for the knave that left us here today

I crave mending glue,
Joining the Antarctic crevices;
Sucking dry Arctic waters,
In return to a unified world,
Eden of the genesis with many colours;
A mirage? But here we are today!
