To Dreamland on Sunset's Lullaby
Gracefully the young crescent moon
ascends the sky like a cosmic tune;
replacing the drowsy pale yellow sun
sinking on a golden glowing horizon.
To dreamland on a lullaby of silvery twilight...
to dreamland floating with music of night.
Even as shadows of day seek rest,
choirs of songbirds fly home to nest.
But asleep I'll be before stars start to shine;
asleep I'll be before Venus and Mars align.
To dreamland on a lullaby of silvery twilight...
to dreamland floating with music of night.
Melodies of powder-puff pinks and baby blues,
splashed on sunset's orange-tinted hues;
gently I'll slip into a cocoon of sweet slumber,
on the wings of a celestial lullaby so tender.
To dreamland on a lullaby of silvery twilight...
to dreamland floating with music of night.
The trials of day fade gloriously to gray,
and into Sandman's restful arms I will lay.
My restless spirit is calmed from within,
serenaded by nature's soothing violin.
To dreamland on a lullaby of silvery twilight...
to dreamland floating with music of night.

Flakes, like a lady’s gloves,
gently pulled off
finger by finger,
one by one,
laid upon her lap.
The lay of land, it’s lap
of snowy-white
glows in the velvety twilight
of Winter’s hourglass.
Black and white kittens,
both snowballs of sorts,
in puppy love, whilst
the stars sparkle, like
a ballroom dance floor,
shine like waxy-ice.
The flurries, like downy feathers,
float,
so
slowly.
Elegance of lovers
with lady-locks and manly beards.
Kids blink
as they bow and curtsy -
they always miss
the snowman show.
Blows the cold cream
and powder puff.
Glistening of cracking ice.
The tracks of high heels
from endless waltz of Winter night,
and the snowlady is warmed by her fox
trot. Chattering of children’s teeth,
like applause - they’ve stayed up
way too late.
It’s nearly eight.
Translucent turquoise tide pools
soft shimmer on the sand,
mirrors for vain seagulls,
bathtubs for crusty crabs.
The tide slap lapping on the beach,
cavorting up and down the shore
with sounds of gentle laughter
mixing tumbling rocks and broken shells.
Adrift along a fantasy,
stretched out upon the sand;
my mind a merry fishhook
baiting dreams like fishermen.
Above, the sky’s bright powder puff
has rouged my cheeks like shells,
spritzed freckles across my nose,
brown spray amid the swells.
Days like these cannot be bought
nor pursued as treasured store;
you stumble on them, mindlessly,
whether rich or whether poor.
A gift to lift your hefty load,
from life’s harsh grind, reprieve;
lay back, let salt sea breezes blow
and feel your stress unwind.

Powder puff clouds drift in dark dusky sky
Obscuring the moonbeams way up high
Murky shadows dance upon the street
Unnerving passers-by as they meet
Skeletal winter branches wave their fingers
in swirling grey mist, see how it lingers
I hurry past as the shadows frighten me
Their ghostly forms are plain to see
Bright moon peeps round and brings me light
Its shining face is such a reassuring sight
Creepy shadows are slowly diminished
My midnight walk will soon be finished
I hurry home as the shadows slink away
They will rest now and return another day
As soon as dawn breaks, the eerie shadows die
Bright golden sun will illuminate the sky

powder puff clouds laze
o'er fields of hued floral flame
mellow sun glimpses
A powder puff moon
hangs in a languid sky
gathers stardust from the milky way
and airbrushes the faces of passing angels
I want to be lost in a sea of rainbow leaves
as the drum of time rolls and September is here
and Summer is a shadow on the wall of time
today clouds sail across a blue azure sky
though some clouds are still and powder puff beautiful
but sadly my garden in the stillness is decaying
and fading, fading each day with whispers of farewell
for the nights are cool and crisp
oh, hello September, I welcome your breezy ways
and the leaves that will fall and float, spin and twirl
it is time for pumpkin pies and roasted chestnuts
cuddly sweaters and lighting a crackling fire
and making fat apple pies like grandma used to bake
and going for walks to enjoy the vibrant nature change
my golden hair flowing and my cheeks blushed mauve
and my lips ruby red waiting for a raindrop kiss
the lovely emerald trees now vivid colors against the sky
and squirrels are busy gathering and birds tweet a song
as my feet crunch the leaves and the air is scented earthy
oh, hello September ...

"Has solitude ever led your steps down a green
forest path to linger in tranquility"
Quote _by Poet
Powder puff clouds sail across the deep, deep blue sky,
and peaceful eagles soar and dip in a fly by;
the flowers gleam like jewels in the sun,
the beauty of the green hued forest makes me sigh.
There is a magic beneath the tall dappled trees,
among the many bird songs and the buzzing bees;
I admire a soft spider web spun,
and the squirrels use tree branches as a trapeze.
Soon, afternoon shadows are stretching long and thin,
oh, a cool rippling stream beckons me to step in;
and some brave birds visit me one by one,
I watch pretty butterflies whirl, twirl, swirl and spin.
Amid saturated colors and thoughts I heal,
oh, the serene forest has so much to reveal;
seems that nature is God's favorite son,
and I am wrapped in a cool blanket of surreal.
"and the birds twitter like whispering violins ... "

my heart
races so
my breath
i cannot catch
how the seconds the hours
vanish
powder puff dreams
crumble to dust
scattered
by a gust of wind
there it was
life
and now
it’s nearly gone

Mend the life set before me--
change can be good, a fresh start
Call a repairmen, it is salvageable--
Sever the old ties, new and improved!
Struggles come and go, inner turmoil stagnant this life
Struggles between good and evil
Self improvement desired but laziness overcomes
Spirit of a warrior and muscles of a powder-puff
Change, change, CHANGE!!!
Never was good enough anyway.
Big ideas, that won't come to fruition.
Pain and weakness are your closest friend, closer than a brother.
Death creeps vermicular upon us all.
Continue to walk the road less traveled until the journey's end.

BICHON FRISE
Bichon frise or is it curly lapdog you prefer?
Pray, do make it known
Descendant of a water spaniel originating in ancient times
In the Mediterranean area
Used as barter by sailors
Your solid white coat is silky profuse
Not silky confuse
I get it now
You are prized for your lively intelligence
And is usually groomed and trimmed
To give a “powder puff” appearance.
Teeter tottered between dock and boat
Boarded with a box of supplies
Security and radio check completed
Sounds of people chattering, horns beeping, and seagulls squawking
Sailboat untied
Drifted away from mooring
Engine engaged
Stern exchanged for bow and headed for horizon
Navigated through channel markers and out into open water
Engine killed and sail hoisted up mast
Sound of water lapping against boat
Sailboat bobbed and turned like a piece of driftwood on the ocean
Light reflected off of metallic objects on boat and turquoise water
Fully furled sails captured the wind
Boat lurched forward and sideways
White knuckle grip on silver plated wheel
Capsize averted by keel
Headed to skyline under captains command
White capping waves and powder-puff clouds seen to the limits of vision
Visibility clear for miles in every direction
Sounds of wind whipping sail and water rushing against boat
Loss of time
Distracted by enchantment
Coast line disappeared
Gripped with panic
Fear of the unknown
Swaying between civilization and solitude
Control regained with self-rationalization
Warmth of sun felt on face
Mesmerized by the sun painting on a canvas of light blue and aqua
Dropped sail and anchor on leeward side of a small island
Snow white sand and coconut trees swaying in the breeze
Dined with silence and serenity
Dolphins played at dusk
Moon rise with waves breaking reflection
Diamonds of heaven sparkling and some falling into the ocean
Gently rocked to sleep by calm dark water
Painting a picture of porcupines playing
Pincushions parked in the field
Purple and pink for this playful perception
Plans of their purpose revealed
Painful endeavors of pacified pranksters
Preparing a pie at their place
Pecan or pumpkin, pickle, pineapple
Pieces are smeared on their face
Putting the paint on some powder puff paper
Pleasure in each stroke is plied
Pausing to peer at some porpoises playing
Prancing in pansies they hide
Puzzling problems with pretzels and peanuts
Posturing people to prove
Pistachio perfume in prime presentation
Preaches that peaches will move
Polishing pastels on pre-printed pages
Prized the possessions we seek
Paisley the plumes of a peacocks posterior
Portraits now come take a peek
Pampering pelicans play the piano
Pure as a piccolos prayer
Picking a parcel of plum flavored pudding
Poetic prose fills the air
Pleats in my pants shout in proud proclamation
Puddle my pores that perspire
Poodles on playgrounds prevent prosecution
Plotting my hearts pure desire
Passion precedes every past tense of parting
Piled with a presence so true
Painting a picture while purposely dreaming
Promising my love to you
So farewell Keith Vaz, we don’t really mind
Whether you steered from the front or behind
But the coke was a bit of an epic fail
What’s that, you’re snorting, I didn’t inhale?
So hello Keith Vaz, you’re still knocking about
You can lock up yer closet now yer out
And maybe hang out with Osborne and stuff
Isn’t he a bit of a powder puff?
