Premium Member Fearful and Perplexed

Fading sun elaborates
Tuscan yellow tinges
As vibrancy floats
Lavender on periwinkle
Embossing clouds
In shades of amethyst

Granting scenic vision
Atop the red bridge
Suspended in perpetuity
From vermilion towers
In resplendent posture

Sounding final appeal
From the complacent sea
Echoed by morbid hills
Seducing her fragility

Prompting her to leap
Gasping last breath
Fearful and perplexed
If there's solace in death

Premium Member Someone Listen

“Zoloft.” was someone’s loud, quick answer.
“Yasmin.” I heard, spoke by another. Huh?
“Xanax.” Was then offered.

While these people shouted, I stared, perplexed.

“Valium, is inside my pocketbook,
Unisom, too. It’s up to you.” said some voice.

”Thank you,” I began, “you are all dear,
Seems though, I have not been clear.
Really, all I want and need ….”

“Quick dissolving antacid is here, amid
Percocet in the drawer, in my desk,
Oxycotin, too. What bothers you?” again, someone interrupted me.

”Now that you ask,” I started to reply, “my only request,
	Made just moments ago …”

“Lexapro, is in my bag.” Another spoke,
“Keep it with you all day, see if you’re okay.
Just know at work you can’t rest – it’s no joke.
It will tire a person in no time flat.” She went on,
“Happens fast, you will feel sleepy once you digest.”

”Gosh guys,” I felt mad, “this is like combat.
For goodness sake, do stop speaking out.
Everyone, hear my question, don’t make me shout,
Did any of you in this office
Consider that all I wish to
	Borrow is a simple, genuine
	Aspirin? Well, maybe two.”

Premium Member Confounded Confused and Perplexed

I am confounded, confused, truly perplexed
By people who are selfish and mean.
Were they abandoned in bathroom stalls?
Did they have to survive on a cold tile floor?
Was their world so cruel that they think only of themselves?

I am confounded, confused, truly perplexed
By people who are bossy and belligerent.
Do they think this is the way to influence you?
To make you a friend? To straighten you out?
Why is their way the only way?
Were they raised by alcoholics? Not able to change their sad childhoods?

I am confounded, confused, truly perplexed
By people who are perpetually angry and grouchy.
Do they never find their bliss? Do they frighten away their soul mates?
Do they not know that sadness is at the root of their anger?
Why do they not reach out for help? Do they trust no one?
Were they raised in houses where mothers held I-pads instead of them?

I am confounded, confused, truly perplexed by depression,
Anxiety, and grief. These feelings are terrifying for me. I am
An empath, so I have to stay away from these feelings. I hope
You understand. If my empathy perplexes you, I get it.

Perplexed

It’s hard to tell anymore
If that’s you knocking at my door
With my blurry view
I really haven’t a clue
I just want to believe
in me, before it’s my time leave

I am again a child
Innocent and wild
Are the roses really red?
What was it you said?
I want to kiss you
But they tell me you're already dead

Now I’m hanging on by a silver thread
I don’t know what lies ahead
So please give me my daily bread
And tell me it’s all in my head
What in the world can be next?
Do not dare ask me; I am perplexed

She pleaded with me to meet her here;
knowing that I could never decline.
But now, it's past midnight and raining;
although she swore she'd be here by nine.

Trying to understand her is like
trying to light a damp cigarette.
For the more anxious I am to try;
the more frustrating my attempts get.

Her excuses are nonsensical;
she's silly and possibly insane.
And I've stopped trying to outguess her,
for she deals in both pleasure and pain.

She is a genuine conundrum,
specializing in leaving me vexed.
And in the end, I have little choice;
but to walk away feeling perplexed.

Premium Member Autumn 'Leaves' Me Perplexed

I love autumn - 'tis my most favorite of the seasons.

The harvest moon and colorful leaves are some of many reasons.

Trees that during summer provided shade and leaves of jade,

Now wear robes of red and gold so brilliantly displayed!

I'm awed as the rising sun casts its beams on neighboring trees,

Further exposing exquisite leaves dancing in the gentle breeze.

But I have a bone to pick with Mother Nature, truth be told.

Though my emerald lawn is now carpeted with pretty leaves of gold,

'Tis not especially to my liking since it is them I must rake.

'Tis neighbor's leaves that litter my lawn - and that's my bellyache!

Perplexed

I wake up and taste the sweet ambrosia of morning
-	You’re kisses are like wine
The day has broken and sends out its warning
-	And so concludes my reverie

The days is but a frenzied whirlwind
-	Shattered is the memory of so short ago
Racing forward like a turbulent storm
-	To meet my destiny’s challenge

Perplexed

Sincerity is hardly in an abundant quantity in our world
the blunderers and wonderers are deserted the direction hurled

Lost aimless looking to be painless seared in their fragile state
by promise makers and mockers and takers until it is too late

They hope, cope, mope and feel roped while facing a reality
robbed of peace and tranquility

Searching and asking, yearning while acting out this game called life
with the scenes that repeat like a thundering heartbeat consumed with horrific strife

Puppets get tangled and wrangled and mangled by the puppeteer
who's careless and cares less. Verbose? Yes, but truth uncovers fears and tears

The haystack is monumental, yet the needle miniscule hidden under eternal straw sticks
The hay is rough and in irritating tufts. It blocks the gleam that's within. It's a glow like fire
on a burning wick.

Coal is a very dark stark mark of what exists if not burned
Ageless means stage less void of undiscovered value. Leave no stone unturned

How do you seek what you cannot see?
How do you walk down paths you have never trod before?
How do you embrace truths foreign to your culture?
How do you show compassion when you feel the need of it yourself?
How do you sing when you hear the echoes of others’ judgments?
How do you fully forgive those who sin against you?
How do you rejoice in the midst of sorrow?
How do you walk with humility without being humiliated?
How do you delight in both sunshine and tempest?
How do you laugh so hard each day
That your sides ache and tears run down your face?
How do you appreciate what G-d has given without being arrogant?
How do you develop the discipline to
See you through until you draw that last breath?
How do you embrace the calling of the Lord G-d,
Each and every day of your life?
How do you follow in the steps of the Holy One, trusting as a young child?
How do you develop skills unknown to your family?
How do you cook with such creativity that their mouths water?
How do you eat only food that is good for your body?
How do you become disciplined in the arts of G-d?
How do you write to both edify and uphold truth?
How do you learn to write when you don’t even know where to start?
How do you publish what others have written
With the same loving diligence as you publish your own work?
How do you write to glorify and honour G-d each and every day?
How indeed?!

Perplexed Poetess

Words for how I feel sometimes don't I have
Sometimes feelings that just are my that feelings
That my soul plague episodes emotional

Leftover Tomorrows

Leftover Tomorrows

Not just the yin and yang of life
Not just the perplexed and entangled
Not even the esoterically amplified deviations
Just the oxymoron nature of the beast

It’s the fashion of ascending and escaping
Of falling into the voids of the heart
When love transcends into emptiness
Our minds form designs to abstract

To gain wisdom teased from agony
From wakeful weaving of earthly plights
A roller coaster of leftover tomorrows
Inverse our perception of dancing tonight

Blind Folds On a Glistening Light

Ain't a illusion but reality,
Your stardom, your limelight,
Your rich folks and my shame dress,
My heart begging tears to shed.

Ain't a Jack in box I promise
But a fairy light lost in spotlight,
All you were a short lived fantasy
While December joyed and February weeped.

Ain't a Silhouette but a soulful dream
Of my life's road driven in forest,
But Blind Folds on my glistening light,
Taking steps on pebbles of your life.

For your shining flashy life
On Billboard of my long night,
I'll keep our pictures hidden forever
So you can step in brightest smile.

And

Just
