Russia's losses have been greater with their Ukrainian invasion
Compared to nine years in Afghanistan, another miscalculation
Many towns and cities in Ukraine are now being taken back
As Ukrainian defenders launch, a devastating counter attack.
At a river in the Donbas region the Russians tried to cross
But were met with fierce resistance and suffered a great loss
An entire Russian battalion with tanks and vehicles too
Have met with a horrific end, as Ukrainian missiles flew.
How many more losses can the cowardly Russians take?
But they'll never admit, that they have made a grave mistake
Their substandard ageing weapons are being put to the test
And are no match for NATO weapons, which are simply the best.
The first war criminal is in the dock, and his trial is underway
For an act of cold blooded murder and with his freedom he'll pay
He'll no doubt serve time in a prison cell ,for a very long time
But surely that is too lenient and he should be hung for his crime.
Russia will never conquer Ukraine and it's a war they won't win
The civilised world is sending a clear message to Vladimar Putin
Russia's botched invasion has now caused NATO to expand
Two more countries will now join the alliance, Sweden and Finland.
Russia is threatening the West and NATO, saying it may go nuclear
It's just sabre rattling on their part and they're trying to instil fear
Even if they launched their missiles, it would invoke article five
The Russian state would cease to exist and they wouldn't survive.
Russia should now do the honourable thing and admit defeat
And for Putin to give the order to his forces, in Ukraine to retreat
Acts of aggression won't be tolerated and the west will not give way
And if you invade a peaceful country, then a high price you will pay.

Winter is a deadly companion to those of us
who stay behind. Spring is not guaranteed, only
a lonesome song, frozen on the lips of my
fellow crusaders.
The tip of the spear belongs to the "Ice Warrior"
Camouflaged under a dusting of snow, ink black
like the night or mind bending off sun glare,
always eager to send cars sailing and people
falling. I was one of the lucky ones...I fell
on ice and broke my arm.
I knew I would see Spring...first paying a
painful
toll. Political insanity mostly fills the front
page in Winter, the truth of those lost forever
to its treachery only whispered in the "B"
section.
Those of us who survive for one more Spring
and Summer bare a different attitude than our
fellow snow birds.
You'll see us standing alone among forest
wildflowers...or sitting quietly on a dolomite
boulder overlooking Lake Superior.
Oblivious to all but our grateful senses,
humbled
by
our
fragile
existence.
Minnesota Winter 2017
The trees are too busy
losing leaves
or withdrawing deeper
into their winter selves
to notice me.
Clouds pass overhead
oblivious to my presence,
the wind detours around me
and carries on its way
as if I'm not there.
I mean nothing at all
to the river much less
the ocean. Butterflies
and birds ignore me
or keep their distance.
I'm treated as only a part
of an earthly whole.
That won't do.
Little do they know
they are paying a price
for their indifference
and reluctance to bend.
I am asserting
my god given right
of dominion
by slowly
killing them.
We’re complaining about life and throwing food away,
But there’s nearly 800 million people going hungry in the world today.
Over 150 million children involved in child labour worldwide,
And Innocent people are being killed right now due to genocide.
More than 80 million working in hazardous conditions,
While women in the middle-east are victims to old-age traditions.
Celebrities in restaurants paying a hundred dollars for a dinner,
While kids in third world countries just keep getting thinner.
More than twenty percent of children in Asia and Africa are underweight for their age,
And some are so malnourished, you can actually see their rib cage.
Kids in sweatshops are paying the ultimate price,
Just so we can wear fancy Nike merchandise.
They’re digging for coltan in the Congo while being worked to the bone,
So think about that when your texting on your blackberry phone.
And how can you be happy with the world that we’re living in?
When people are getting murdered due to the colour of their skin.
We need to break down racial barriers because we all breathe the same air,
We need to show more respect for each other and learn how to care.
Human life is worth more than paper but some are obsessed with greed.
Life is about caring for each other, so why take more than we need?
We can still be happy without materialistic treasures,
It’s time to wake up and relish small pleasures.
We are all the same, we are all equal,
We are all human, we are all people.
So why can’t we all work together and try to live peaceful,
We’re only here once, in life there’s no sequel.
I’m trying not to get emotional but it’s just too tough,
Humanity please wake up, enough is enough.
You tread on others without care
Hiding behind your tyrannical God
No longer will I appease your lies
With a humored smile and nod
‘Cause it’s all about you
And the garbage you spew
With no regard for the lives left askew
By all the hurtful things you do
Imprisoning an innocent with ignorance and fear
Inside your religious bars
You’ve used her against us too many times
And left us with emotional scars
You torture the defenseless without excuse
We always knew your screws were loose
But never again will I endure your abuse
I’d rather dangle ‘round a noose
All fond memories have been shrouded
By a blanket of mistrust
To know that we’re related
Only fills me with disgust
It seems you’ve got no conscience within
You’ve no apologies for previous sin
You’d do it all again with a stupid grin
No remorse for betraying your own kin
No inconvenient favor was ever too much
So pray your God is as merciful as mine
For if your ‘rapture’ truly comes
You’ll be paying a hefty fine
Our family tree will never stop growing…our faith and comfort will never crumble
Love grows here…so have no fear—God is near
My family, though packed up with pride and low self-esteem, still appears humble
Mirth produces joy and our hope gives birth to cheer
God is our Father; who could play this role as skillfully? Who, other than God, created the world so genuinely?
Love comes from He…so scare away the anxiety—God will grant us ecstasy
My family, though packed up with hope and despair, cherishes my soul with glee
Rebirth and life comes from He and our faith should draw near to thee
"i love you sweet boy..we will have fun this summer and be a close and godly family..nighty nit my light"
This summer, I am positive that we will be a close and godly family
But we must be lights of the world…and we must be willing to finish that race of hardships to earn His dignity
By all means, we will have an enjoyable break without paying a fee
But we must be God’s faithful followers…and we must be prepared to follow our Shepherd who is the key
Of never-ending faith and comfort, nourishing us abundantly
He still exists…He unravels the insanity
Of this world and set us free from blasphemy
Watching over us with pure vitality
Give us Your water
Don’t leave us in the gutter
Listen to the words we mutter
I pray that our family tree will look up to you devotedly
Politicians are the most pretentious
to emerge from the primordial mulch
of creation.
They pretend to love,
they pretend to care,
In the case of them doing any deal
remotely benefiting constituents
is on condition they profit in prestige,
wealth and a seat, a boardroom chair.
They hug an old lady its a photo opp
They kiss a baby its a god damn video shot,
Even though the homeless is festering,
lacking in compassion, bolstering they bray,
But miss the point that businesses has
reneged on paying a livable wage
The politicians are one piece of work,
weird that they represent the rich and
well to do,
and to you, dem stuff dem chest with
ashes while exiting poverty,
they knew which way the wind blew
Well, money pour to the centre augmented
by a guard of honor rough beast of men,
though shroud now, don't be surprise when
you find its the politicians.

I swear I’m in a nightmare,
I know it’s some bad dream
This craving for the deadly juice,
Is nothing new it seems
Our life is one long quarrel,
A battle no one can win
Am I paying a kind of penance,
For some past life of sin?
I won’t put up with this forever,
The smell or wavering gait
If I stay with you much longer,
I’ll surely be tempting my fate
A soul that’s soaked with liquor,
With breath to ignite a match
But your handsome looks so deceiving,
I naively believed you a catch!
You’ll promise it’s the last time,
Say you’re done… that it’s the end!
But in me you see a nagging wife,
While in the bottle - a comforting friend
Tell me exactly how, I can win,
Or compete with something so pure?
What kind of psychological jargon,
Would even up the score?
This demon is so elusive,
Someone, somewhere, please advise me,
What spirits will finally convince you,
To seek your desired sobriety!
Slaughters, murders, brutal
rage.
World stands bereft, blood
shrouded face.
To gloom and despair, never ending
race
stop and fear, we all are at chase.
Neither the demons nor the devils,
mankind is inflicted by its own
bloody evils.
Relations are loosening, altruism is
lost...
For being mother, daughter, wife,
sister
lady is paying a huge cost.
Rich-poor alas!! an old thought...
neither I will mention.
Taliban, Alkaida, terrorism...
Ohhh they are all human invention.
Stop, I apprehend the dooms day.
Vaccilating like pendulum on death-
clock,
the Humans lay.
Love each other, let the love prevail,
as what may be the race...
love can never fail.

People in a hurry. Just can't wait
Leave earlier or just be late.
Passing on double yellow lines.
Running stop signs while texting
on the phone. That's just wrong.
Speeding down the highway
while cutting people off.
Horns blowing, temperatures
rise. I can't believe my eyes. All
these lives at risk everyday.
Take it easy. Obey the law.
Pull over and park to make
that call. It's not worth losing
a life or paying a fine. Be
thoughtful, careful and kind.

ANIMAL ACTIVIST
Union activist actually – Animal Branch, dude.
My union buddies are thinking it‘s intolerably rude
To have penguin members thrown fish - an insult.
It should be politely offered, like to any human adult.
Our AFL-CIO sheep in an “overcrowded” flock
Must have minimum workers’ space needs; the stock
Needs two metres between each pair of sheep.
Some of our pigs are working in conditions so horribly cheap
As to be described as “a pig sty”.
But the most ridiculous waste of unionized labour in my
Opinion is cows, who‘ve got salt at one end of field
And water at other end: they gotta walk miles each day.
Seems obvious they could have salt and water together, say
At one end, and save a lot of walking for our brothers.
And what about racial slurs and implicit name-calling of others -
“Great Dane” suggests other nationalities of dog workers are worse.
Should be called “Danish” - all dogs are worth paying a fatter purse.
One of our brothers is a dog who’s a boxer:
Horrible, he’s one of the Marquis of Queensbury jocks…er…..
Oh…. and no more of that Old English Sheepdog stuff, I’m afraid.
It’s obvious age-ism in the trade.
You live in my head
Never paying a cent
I pray for the day you are evicted
And as much as I try to throw you out
You drowned me in your quicksand
Pulling me under
So I can’t breathe
Your way of reminding me
That as badly as I may want it
You’ll never leave
I squeeze my head with my hands
hard enough that I leave red marks on my skin
Trying to remember the day I ever let you in
But I never did
You forced your way in
You crushed my lungs
And twisted the wires of my brain
And changed the beat of my heart
To distract me from your scheme
To give yourself just enough time
To force yourself in
Like a predator stalking its prey
You created a trail to lure me in
That is what you are you know
A predator
Through the door and down the stairs
I didn’t realize it was too late
Until I saw no one else was there
You locked the door from the outside
And no matter how much I screamed
And how much I cried
Your cynical laugh haunted my ears
Scared my brain
And created my fears
And even when I sleep with the lamp on
The darkness is too potent for me to dream
Even with all the lights on
it's not bright enough to blind me from the memories that haunt my head
I am still one of your hostages even when I go to bed
And when I wake up in the morning
And when I brush my teeth
And when I drive my car
No matter how long I drive
Deep down I know you are never far
You will always be right around the corner
Down the stairs
And through the door
Living rent-free in my head
And I will always be stuck down there
Screaming for the glorious day
Someone tells me you are daed
We were a country where people roamed free
where you drove cross-country without paying a fee
We were a country where folks dreamed big
outside of Washington where men wore wigs
We were a country known for ingenuity
not for divorces, abortions, and promiscuity
We were a country built by entrepreneurs
not by bureaucrats cranking out horse manure
We were a country where a man said what he thought
not what some PhD. thinks that Mao taught
Yes, we were a country, alright
not a chorus of banshees from the left and the right
A little something
for
Chunky
from his girl
A middle aged woman
With a young girls dreams
Was wondering just what
True love could mean
Friends said on lines
the best place to be
Looking for prince charming
Was totally free
A few strokes of the keys
And he was there to see
Prince charming indeed
There on the monitor screen
A message she sent
Along with a pic
A click of the mouse
Led him to her house
At last the meaning of love
has been found out
Now she finally knows
What every ones talking about
Now over a year later
Every one can see
She found her true love
without paying a fee
