Best Out With The Old Poems

The old year hobbles out - his path an aftermath of blunders.

Glowingly expectant, the new year readies for a grand entrance -

wearing nothing but fresh unstained diapers of naiveté.

OLD
antiquated, archaic
endearing, aging, lingering
antique, vintage; juvenile, childhood
invigorating, refreshing, redoing
neonate, novel
NEW

Out With the Old, In With the New

I'd love to run and jump and play
I'd love to climb more trees
But these days my body screams
Oh! My Back ! My Knees !

The soul still longs for youthful bliss
to be so young and strong
We know that isn't the way of things
Old age will come along

This getting old we should not fear
as twilight sings it's tune
But December seems to come so quick
Though we long to stay in June

Out with the old, in with the new
Even if it seems too fast, this we know is true.

(Enjoy the weekend my friends :)

Brittany Bailey
To create something new,
You must abolish that of the old,
In order for things to grow,
There are seeds for you to sow.
You cannot go from nothing-
To something
In the blink of an eye.
You won’t get from here -
To there if you won’t try.
So let it all out -
Plant something new.
You never know what you can find to be true.

Robin, small and blue
Pauses briefly in its song
and drops a feather

Out With the Old

Fresh sand roils
As the turbulent tide breaks
Old grains wash away

New year's day
still as grey
so they say.
Not me, nay;
let's away;

chase the sun.
Have some fun
with my son
and my hun;
old un's done.

Out with the old
In with the new
winds of change
I welcome you

Blow the cobwebs
so far away
take old wishes
stale and fray

Winds of sorrow
gusts of pain
blow out to sea
do not remain

I shut the door
to the past
a new beginning
is here at last

With open arms
I step on through
to a Happy New Year
and dreams coming true.

Out With the Old

I once got a piece of advice
And you’d think that one time would suffice
But I didn’t take heed,
Not that I disagreed,
And so now I am paying the price.

The suggestion was each time you buy
Something new, with this rule you comply –
You must then give away,
Without doubt or delay,
Something old (or passé, they’d imply).

If I just could obey that command
Then I finally would understand
That my closets could be
No reflection of me
But like those Marie Kondo* had planned.

Out with the old; in with the new
A face from the past simply won't do
Joseph Biden's fairly melting away
Don't get ideas, Hilary
You've seen better days...

The same thing back in 2016 was true
Jeb Bush checked all the boxes then too
A moderate whose wife was Hispanic
Jeb himself spoke fluent Spanish --

His downfall precipitated by one fatal flaw
He was yet another Bush family member

Out With the Old Year

Out with the old year,
In with the new.
Will this be a good one?
Haven’t a clue.

All we can do is
Wake up every day
And see just what stuff
Will be heading our way.

Make no predictions;
Time has to tell
If life treats us badly
Or if we do well.

Wishing is useless,
More likely than not,
But have a good new year.
(I’ll give it a shot.)

Out With the Old

Out with the old an in with the new
As the crowd sang, we’ve got a break-through
They said, their resolutions
And prayed for retributions
While sipping on a New Year’s woo-stew

On Going Out With The Old Lady

She's under this illusion.
Men still look at her and
have some sort of interest in her.

Always applies makeup before leaving
the house.
Checks then re-checks clothing in
an almost ritual-like dance
in front of the mirror.

Babe, I say to myself, cause.
I’d never have the nerve tell her
to her face.

That men gawking at you ship,
as long sailed.
