Notes About The Poem

Out With the Old - In With the New

The old year hobbles out - his path an aftermath of blunders. Glowingly expectant, the new year readies for a grand entrance - wearing nothing but fresh unstained diapers of naiveté. For the Sijo Poetry Contest of Rick Parise

They won't be unstained for long and it seems there is no one to change them. A 365 day mess!

Oh, this is PERFECT. I love the way you have described the past "blundering" year and the year to come, which (as of yet) is free of mistakes.

When we've lived enough, we've earned the right to tell it like it is. The year had faults and now it's over. Let's hope we find that four leaf clover.
