Not One Word

Silence
The sweet rhapsody of quietness
Sit back and savor
the music of the void,
where no dissonant voices are heard
It's so relaxing in this soundless realm;
break not the peace, speak not one word
Stay muted,
let all unspoken thoughts flow within
a serene state of mind, cascading down
into a calm stream of consciousness
No discordant utterances echoes through this vale of tranquility
The absence of strident, background noise
causes
          the ears
                      to fall
                               sound asleep
Not one disturbing word to be heard ...
There is only blessed silence
floating around you as you dream deep,
thinking of me,
in the heart of the night
This is as it should be

My thoughts let go of a thousand memories,
     like faces, dates, times and places;
yet, I can easily recall each and every detail,
on the day of your funeral.
In the middle of a snow storm I followed,
     the wind blowing back my long hair;
we meandered down a winding cold path,
the wind pausing in the trees.
Snowflakes fell on me from the tangled branches,
     falling like weeping tears cascading down;
I am lost in this forever, ever memory-
today the snow drifts in the cemetery.
and a headstone is buried deep in the pure white,
     with one engraved word revealed;
in this pristine lonely winter wonderland,
only one word can be seen- Mother.

One Word

One word
                                 Coming from you
Can pierce right through my heart
Sending poison through me like a
                                        Stingray

An individual doesn't need to search the internet,
use a dictionary or thesaurus
to define the word

"LIFE"

One Word

Littered thoughts lay
 crumpled on the floor,
 lips bear the imprint
 of a fingernail.

A single word
 dances at the end
 of my fingertips,
 I scratch paper
 into confetti.

The first stanza
 dares me to
 give it autarky,
 declare its truth
 all its faults
 in every sentence.

This untold idiom
 would usher in
 the torn diaries
 of an undisclosed
 suffering mind.

So I clean my floor
 clench my hands
 and close this
 subject forever.

---

There is always a
 "but"
 isn't there.

Premium Member One Word Is Worth a Thousand Pictures

One word is worth a thousand pictures

Wait a minute, don't think I've got that right

BUT HEY! That works too if that one word is LOVE

It conjures up all sorts of heart warming scenarios

Love between parents and their children

Love of a Golden Retriever as she greets you at the door

Love of nature in all its grandeur

Love is waking up each morning to another sunshiny day

Love is a late night stroll on the beach

Love is THE one word that separates us from all other creatures

Love of all the joys and experiences life has to offer

Love is the be all and end all

The meaning of life on earth, the driving force

Our reason for being... everything else is superfluous

Without love, life has no meaning

Yes... one word is worth a thousand pictures!

One Word

Ahhhh! My heart!

She said one word,
And it shattered my soul,
Once so strong,
My diamonds are coal!

Ridicule, disdain, and disgust
Are all her testy mind can must!

I am stupid,
Indignantly so!
How ever with such insults
Shall I properly grow?

My heart! The pain!
The sting of one word!
Tis an ache one looks on
As grossly absurd!

Though as it were,
I must grow tall,
For such a mere word
Shant possibly end it all

I shall laugh—HA HA!!!
And instead I shall dance,
For life is quite great,
And I still have on pants!

Tis I, a gentleman,
Tried and true,
Whom shall never be less,
E'en when I am with you!

There Is But One Word

Warning - Mature.

Sweet night, a blanket made from scented space - holds this would-be poet in its arms.

Tightly - yet with care. Caring - yet with passion. Smiles her heart. Trembles her dreams. Hides them silverine in moments indescribable. Night caresses her spirit with unspoken thoughts, echoing from places foreign to her understanding.

From time taken by liberties, he waits, stubbled chin resting in broad cupped palm. He longs for her. Needs in the flame of passion's roar to fly that time long laid in stone.

Clouds drift. Days flee. Eons wreak weather to endless confusion. Creatures fall within time. Fossils lie crushed in their past. Ocean drowns land. Land erupts from water. Breathing rents the air. One step. A second. Knees buckle. She waits in her wondering why and what.

Hidden within cloud where the highest mountains touch the sky, the man sits. Alone, he is, wrapped in silence. He groans, wanting. Weeps. Prays to the gods, calls to the elements. Weeps more.

A sound, gentle, soft said, drifts space. Man hears. Wonders. Frowns. Understands. Wanting becomes pain. He groans. He moans. He laughs! Somewhere, she sleeps!

A rippled breath gasps my palm,

floats 'tween fingers flexed,

darts space behind my ear, laughs my neck

caressing thoughts I've not yet dreamed..

what language now,

what meanings, what delight,

pray tell?

you touch me with a hint of
honeyed power -

oh sybarite -
wrap me in heat so high I sizzle in my sleep..
look me.. sheet rushed aside I wait,

I moan, I sigh
to float 'tween fingers formed too much,
intentions still unsure but now.. oh now..

you lean forward
closer..
closer..
inhaling deeply..
sensing my gender
sighing -
sighing yet more

until..
temptation dared
and passion flared

I soar, I fly,

thereby -

thereby
however perceived
evol becomes reality
turned inside out upon its cap of what you will
emotions motion..

tumble in
turn and
turnabout,
spinning words, knitting language into shape..

explorers of such subjects
binding heart to hope and - yes
exotic inamorati all,
lie bed or floor or chair or shore
let loose that secret word
that spell - that lost civility
from A past where and when

when

one word
once found
once felt
once shared
was is forever..

love

It's Just One Word

Am I the only one who's feeling there is something very wrong with all of this ,
I can't seem to get anybody to listen not even when I raise my fist.
How can they not see what I see ,has everybody lost thier mind I say,
Why can't they see what it is that is making them act this way.
Have you taken a look around to see there's something that has changed,
When you look into peoples eyes Lord how you can see the rage.
No compassion for thier fellow man as if they have never ever cared,
For the future of mankind and how we all should be aware.
Saw a friend of mine the other day he was acting a little strange ,
I can't help but wonder just when , how , and who's the blame.
This power and greed is consuming us all we just can't seem to stop
Stepping on our brothers & sisters as we race to the top.
Where's the love ,the kindness ,the hope and faith we use to live by,
How we allowed ourselves to sink so low I' will never know why.
Still I will contunue to spread the word which has always been,
Be good and love one another as you are learning not to sin.
Please don't be another wreck that has been pushed to the side ,
If you' listen to the one and only word you will know why.
We will all band together so we can stand tall and free,
It is one simple word and that is love how could you nor see.
