Premium Member Adrift In the Midst of Gladness and Sadness

Walking upon silent parched paths,
under speechless scarlet skies.
Your name sits upon the tip of my tongue,
listening to the susurration of my heart.
Each vibration echoes tones of lament,
conflicted by the principles of time.

Adrift in the midst of gladness and sadness,
in a plot without a twist, lost in blackness and slackness,
through turbulent trials, I yearn for you to return.

Distance remains an unknown intangible pain,
but visions of your timid cute brown eyes remain.
How your mouthwatering scent seduced senses.
How your luscious lips dissolved all walled defences.
Now I yearn for queen of my heart to re-appear,
to sleep in each others arms, into the new year.

Adrift in the midst of gladness and sadness,
in a plot without a twist, lost in blackness and slackness,
through turbulent trials, I yearn for you to return.

Without you the mind is misplaced in marshlands,
where intimacy is lost to complex riddles called life.
Under cold ebony skies, your memories flicker like candlelight,
you are the flame, which insulates my heart with devotional delight.

Silent One
26 December 2019

Wanted to experiment with a mix free verse and rhyme.
After contemplating calling it a free verse or rhyme, I settled for lyric.
Maybe an idea for a contest.

Meduvada

Mix black lentil batter
Must add salt and spices
Make holed rings, put in oil
Meduvadas frizzle
Mouthwatering, fluffy
Melts in mouth, soft, crispy
My most favorite snack

Premium Member Autumns Delicacies

Outside my windowpane
Daylight dwindles
Sunshines sparsely
Further from the new dome skies
Ninety-three million miles away
Imbued in ripened colors
Nature’s mahogany, oak, and cherrywood trees
and Jogger’s grassy paths once lime greens,
Chanting to changing tones of richer reds
Clustered blue-jays adorn
Like shimmering rhinestones
Gayly sing above our heads
Shadows stretch out deep
Swaying weeping willows sweep
Smoke smells flow through the crisp air
Musky scent from stonefire oven pits
Spiced up dishes mouthwatering lit
Lavish and lustrous ambers crackle
Flaming orange leaves swirl around and prance
Seducing all to voyeur their performance
Golden crinkled copper leaves splayed
Reaching, rustling to the ground
Making shuffling sounds
Minty blues peak through scarlet rays
Fall cashmere shawls display!
Autumn gardens
Nights that linger lasting moments
Granting lover’s time
For making romance

Persuading October from her quiet lair
Shedding the pleasures of life’s fictional realms
Mouthwatering plunder, gathering to share

Swirling through the silence, round oaks, pines and elms
Secrets and shadows reflecting nature’s rush
Flames of ginger, shushing dark who overwhelms

Sweet dreams are splattered with hope by God’s paintbrush
Storm wrecking peace calms souls who reflect this time
Much like a coryphée, plied by a wood thrush

Closing those moments by the sea, maritime
Breathing in crisp air, whispering a prayer
Carrot colored leaves twirl in a soothing rhyme

Reflections so daring arrive on sun’s glare
Lifting the past’s tears with grace beyond compare

The First Day of High School

Concrete jail like walls,
Butterflies flying around in my stomach,
Friends,
Art,
Pottery,
Noise,
Strangers,
Wandering around in a big school,
Mouthwatering PB and J for lunch,
Depressing,
Never ending day,
Pencils,
Pens,
Eyes drooping from exhaustion,
Smiles,
Confusion.

Cookies

Cookies are addictive!
OoOoH! Here's one to snatch!
Okay...where's the chocolate chips?
Kraving too many of these treats
I want some now! But...I might get beeefy...
Every bite is mouthwatering, soft and crisp
Should I take another cookie?

POPCORN

White kernels of hot popping yummy flavoring,
Cooked in golden butter drippings, lightly sprinkled
To taste with salty perfections gentle touch,
At the kitchen cooks discretion.
The crunchy and munchy treat, to pass
Around at any family social gatherings
Celebration.
Fill up them empty bowls both large
And small heap them full to the very
Tippy-top, nothing will be left behind,
Trust me, for its POPCORN!!
Bucket me, bag me, but for heaven’s sake
Don’t deny me this mouthwatering feast
To the senses.
The comfort food of the ages, forget those
Old bags of stale potato chips or the dusty shelved
Candy bars, sold at the local quickie mart.
I’ll grab me instead that old fashioned jiffy pop,
Light up that gas stove of wonders, and let it perform
Its delectable miracle.
Slowly it heats up, with a sizzles crack, crackling,
Sliding it back and forth, over the low flame
Of salivating, you can hear each tender morsel
Deliciousness forming, within this silver cone
Of desire.
With anticipations childhood like frenzy,
No adult can resist, as you delicately open
This steaming hot package, of pleasures drooling
Lust, its fragrance fills your raw senses,
Exposing that inner need for what,
Pop, pop, popping corn.
White kernels of hot popping yummy flavoring,
Cooked in golden butter drippings, lightly sprinkled
To taste with salty perfections gentle touch,
At the kitchen cooks discretion.
The crunchy and munchy treat, to pass
Around at any family social gatherings
Celebration.
Fill up them empty bowls both large
And small heap them full to the very
Tippy-top, nothing will be left behind,
Trust me, for its POPCORN!!

Premium Member Ice Cream

I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream,
Rocky road unto the tin roof, let the chocolate chips
Fall where they may, float me down the river of
Goodie, goodie, mouthwatering spoonful’s of what
You know my friend, Ice cream!!
Double dip me, with peppermint silvers of toppings
Delight, I’m not bashful I’ll taste another delicious
Tasteful bite, of yummy goodie, past the teeth,
Down the throat, look out tummy hear it comes,
The sweetest yum-yum, you’ve ever indulged in,
What is it called, let’s all shout it out, loud and clear,
I scream, you scream, we all scream for Ice cream.
Frozen milk and sugar what a rushes impact left on
Over load, so many variations of pleasure my taste buds
Surrender, unto Baskins-N-Robbin’s ultimate control.
To a fine point pleasure zone, smoothly textured
I’m drooling with anticipations brain freeze.
Chill me to the shaking inner core, I’ll become the
First human living ice cream cone, a chiseled
Ice sculpture smiling within an ice burg of delightful
Bliss, just don’t forget my sprinkles topping, your choose
Of choose.
Scoops at the ready, hear there is no holding back,
Let the squeeze bottles run free at last,
Marshmallows, to milk chocolate flow, I’m
Here for my just deserts repast, licking down
Unto the last drops of flavor are finally gone.
Come on fudge slice me, ice cream man,
Let no truck pass until the final frozen bar
Is shared with every lucky child, whom chases
After your musical vehicle of our childhood
Remembrances dreaming.
Oh sacred is the banana split, the whole grail
Of the summer time treasury treat, three scopes
Of sensations richness, covered by the sweet sauce
Of thy choosers delectable choose, I’m at your
Tender mercy, please take advantage of my
Weakness, for what Ice Cream!!
I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream,
Rocky road unto the tin roof, let the chocolate chips
Fall where they may, float me down the river of
Goodie, goodie, mouthwatering spoonful’s of what
You know my friend, Ice cream!!

Those Women

Boys boys boys boys

She has red hair
She was blonde last month
She maybe another next month, next week, or tomorrow
She loves them boys
She always goes for the married ones, mostly
She likes them small, short
Well maybe not small but short
      You feel me
She also likes them exotic

I've had the honor to meet 'em all

Let's start with C, yea this one is a difficult case for me
We never get along, I can't stand him
He thinks he's all that
Maybe it's his bling bling, his taste of shine and diamond, the rims in his cars that gets her

Lets move to M, okay this is a cute one
Very handsome, mouthwatering and even down to earth!
It's this one that brings her from her station all the way to his so she can just sit next to him
And flirt, and smile, and play with her hair as she hungrily eyes him
A woman on heat

Let's move to R, I love him
He is so quiet and manly and with his style, he only demands respect
So smart
He says very little, he is one to hunt for
The curiosity is her trap on this one

Let's move to another R
This one has a baby face, even when he talks
So cute!
But he's got two babies you know, so don't let that baby face fool you
Maybe it's his 'naivety' that roars the tiger in her

And then E, hahaha, lol
This one brings out the naughty in me
He makes me say things I shouldn't say
But what the heck? Am old now, I can say whatever
He is always hot, literally!
Keeping them jokes sweaty is what she does with him

And then T, the least of the group coz he ain't married!
This one has PLAYER written all over him
From his sweet talk, to his touches, to his sexy smile
He has learnt his game well
This one doesn't entertain her as much

I watch her as she does her thing
We watch her, and shake our heads
I find her entertaining
Men, I don't remember having that much energy when I was twenty
One of this days, a wife of one these catches will show up when she is all over her man and someone will get a beating
One of these days, she will be married but she will also be haunted by the thoughts of some young chick all over her man, like she does

Nocturnal Nostalgia

I open my eyes to the lovely smile on mom's face
and the tenderness in her gaze;
but why is there more silver
in her hair and more lines on her skin?
The pretty pink and purple Sanrio knickknacks
tell me I am back in the bedroom of my youth.

I get a whiff of mom's perfumed Spanish bath soap,
bringing a sense of comfort,
like the mouthwatering aroma of simmering chicken stew
wafting in from the kitchen.
As I inhale the floral scent of my cloud-white pillows,
I feel I am mom's young daughter again.

Feeling drowsy, I close my eyes to listen
to the haunting notes from the radio,
its soft melody competes with nature’s
night orchestra outside, where dusk has settled.
The boisterous laughter and baritone-voiced
banter of my brothers echo in my sleep.

Startled, I wake up from the dream. The fever’s gone;
in body and spirit I'm a strong adult again.

Premium Member Wolves of the Deep

All is still in deceptions abyss,
Beneath fathoms deep, aquatic,
Wolves are on the hunt.
Stealth predators unseen, unheard,
Hanging on the fringe of detections,
Outer limits.
In plain black and white,
Behold a deadly beauty personified,
Intelligence next step in evolution.
These devils of the bluest depths,
Known as the Orca.
Chameleon's blending between shadows
 Darkness,
And the suns rays penetrating,
From above.
Waiting in the quite shallows,
They hide in anticipation,
For the right moment to strike.
Titans Krakens, await for the first
Signs of weakness in their prey.
Together pack mammals work,
Combing talents to best formulate,
A strategy for the imminent attack.
Upon life's rookery a chilling,
Silence falls.
Young seals sleek and fast,
Taste freedom's excitement,
With wonderment's exhilaration,
To finally be on there own at last.
The open ocean calls to them,
Come challenge my waves,
Youthful innocence, boldly splash
Amongst surf and spray.
Yet beware thy kindred spirits,
Those whom seek the unknown,
May pay a high price of flesh,
And bone.
But these young pups hear the
Siren’s voices,
And heed not the warning tone.
Sliding instead into the icy waters
Cold embrace.
The undertows current carry’s them,
Towards the coral reef.
Deadly jaws haunt the tidal rift's,
Rough jagged edge,
It is a gruesome rule of survival.
Few new yearling return unscathed,
Some don't return at all.
The arch angels of death must take,
Their poundage of flesh.
With a grinning smile,
Natures perfect killing machines,
The wolves of the deep, await the
Next bloody hunt.
With hungry eyes anticipation,
Tasting satisfactions mouthwatering
Bites yet to come.

Turtle Soup?

Some call it an aphrodisiac.
They say it gives a man a strong back.

Like a good woman, turtle soup makes no sense;
Can something so delicate be so intense?

Like a woman, the flesh has several delightful flavors.
Remember, each mouthwatering sensation should be savored.

When you taste her, bask freely in the sapidity,
Acquire the feel for this pure tortoise delicacy.

Don’t rush, familiarize your taste buds.
There is no such thing as a first sight love.

Recognize, there is a mystique behind that hard shell.
Did someone say turtle soup? That does not ring a bell.

Fruit of Seduction

.

Soul-mates Sara and Steve share
Times of titillation, while tasting
Sweet scarlet shaded smiles.
Their reaching fingers find fruit,
As aroma arouses their appetite.
They’re helpless against a hearty hunger,
Yet, yearning is part of the yielding.
Planted for pleasurable picking,
The stem, still pliant secures temptation.
Softly, Sara squeezes juicy secretion
While sensations slowly spiral.
Steve licks lightly at the edge of her lips,
Sampling and savoring freckled spots.
Then, he drops downward to devour
What was offered to him without restraint.
The mouthwatering morsels make him eager,
But, patiently he puts Sara’s preferences first.
This is the way it should be, taking their time,
Lingering; as two lovebirds share lunch
Of strawberries, sweet and succulent.
