Premium Member The Lord of Wonders - Matthew 17: 24-27

Jesus Christ the incarnate son of God
one with the father in heaven above
while on earth displayed all godliness
showing to all mercy and love

This Christ displayed His power
performing wonders for all to see
but humbly meek in all He did
casting out demons setting captives free

On one occasion told His disciple
when needing to pay the tax
go to the sea and cast a hook
bring out first fish you catch

When you open its mouth
you'll find there a shekel
take it and bring it back
pay the taxman so all will be well

Such is the majesty of Jesus
to make people stand in awe
for He's able to do all things
came also to fulfil His law

AUTHOR NOTES: ' When they came to Capernaum, the collectors of the two-drachma tax went up to Peter and said, “Does your teacher not pay the tax?” He said, “Yes.” And when he came into the house, Jesus spoke to him first, saying, “What do you think, Simon? From whom do kings of the earth take toll or tax? From their sons or from others?” And when he said, “From others,” Jesus said to him, “Then the sons are free. However, not to give offence to them, go to the sea and cast a hook and take the first fish that comes up, and when you open its mouth you will find a shekel. Take that and give it to them for me and for yourself.” Matthew ch 17 vs 24-27

Premium Member Only the Narrow Way Leads To Life - Matthew 7: 13,14

God has shown in His holy word
there is only one sure way to life
a life that's eternal to the full
for all other ways just bring strife

Jesus has said when here on earth
to find me enter by the narrow gate
never choose any roads of twists and turns
you can't see around a bend before its too late

There's a gate that's really wide
the way there is easy to find
but with it comes utter destruction
there are lots that will be left behind

The narrow gate is exactly that
making it difficult to get a pass
this is the price that's worth it
for the heavenly road goes first class

Now its so difficult to walk this way
the numbers that succeed are very few
but God's will his for His own elect
to walk the narrow way, will that be you?

(13 “Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. 14 For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.)

Matthew

Matthew, Beautiful with his hazle, brown, green, eyes.

He has been a favorite of the ladies since my mom brought him home.

The darkness of the brown in his skin, but the light in to, is so raidient.

He can make one laugh, like no one else.

He's ten, but man he can act like a little old man that has gone through life.

He try's to boss me, ha! that little reble.

Somtimes I feel like I'm a bad example For him.

I wonder if he loves me, I know he does, but I just wonder sometimes.

My baby brother he will always be, and I will love, even when he hates me.

He will suceed, for sure.

Baby brother I love you.

Please love me.

Premium Member Witchfinder General Matthew Hopkins

Rode around Essex with murder in mind
With evil followers from town to town
Matthew Hopkins was the worst of his kind
Hunting for witches that he could take down.

Towns people would say that woman's a witch
She'd then be tortured until she confessed
Then hanged until death and thrown in a ditch
Hopkins got paid saying she was possessed .

People believed his work was of the good
Earned a large fortune from superstition
By ridding' evil 'from the neighbourhood
Claimed witch finding was his holy mission.

Three hundred murdered in his killing spree
Were all tortured and charged with sorcery.

Premium Member So You Also Must Be Ready - Matthew 24: 44

This world promises no guarantees
for we know not how long we've got
every breath is a gift from above
till that day when we reach the final spot

When Jesus was here on earth
He clearly made His message known
that one day He'd return to judge
this world in respect as a living stone

This message clearly spoke about this
that we must be ready for His return
for whenever that happens to come about
it's ultra important to find yourself done

The Son of Man will come back
for that, there's absolutely no doubt
the hout of time will sound an alarm
to open your eyes to what it's all about

So be absolutely sure to be ready
be living for Jesus every moment
then you will know Jesus is Lord
this being what eternally will be meant

(So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.)

Hopeless Feelings of Matthew

Helpless Feelings of Matthew

Above the black clouds of Matthew,
Angels are singing heavenly melodies,
It is golden there, and winds do not dare
To disturb such tranquility.

They are loving those into their arms,
One by one from this thing unexplained,
Only that it stops the race’s arrogance,
What mattered money or fame?

Those suffering through evacuation,
Stir compassion though they do not take note,
It is all we can do to stay and not run,
Run toward them with a spiritual boat.

Then row them to our houses
Where they’ll find love and prayers waiting,
Everything to start over,
Would be theirs for the taking.

Above the black clouds of Matthew,
Angels are singing heavenly melodies,
It is golden there, and winds do not dare
To disturb such tranquility.

Matthew Henson

No rift in the unthawing ice
The sled took dark matter over crystals of snow
Here the water's thin bonds sufficed
And the one who led was the one who should know
There was no glory in the game
For him, a southern heart seeking a northern pole
Of stars when his heart was aflame
For the warm rhythms of drums called him for a role
Beyond the ken of history
Where his firsts are ancient as the Nile, wrapped in night
Filled with stars of antiquity
Old, so old, the magi had never seen their light.

Today we know where ships must seek
Without the theodolite of desert sands
Time replaced the proud with the meek
God guides the world with his great inerrant hands
Now the servant throned in silence
Is unmasked to his regal heritage, and brought
Maryland's son his prominence
Since first Peary's eyes in his wisdom's net was caught
Like a schooner around the globe
This freedman's soul brought home cargoes none knew before
For something in his blood's wide robe
Could not resist those paths ancient Ghana explored

Premium Member Matthew 7 Verses 13-14

Although the right path in life is very narrow and difficult, I'm glad to be on that right path.....

Matthew 7:13-14

As we skip along
Going our merry way
In the journeys of life
Living day by day

Smelling sweet flowers
Or seeing a rainbow
To give us a big smile
So no one will know

That deep down inside
There is a struggle within
Knowing not the right path
Just keeps you wondering

The path that seems right
Is so difficult to go through
Filled with pain and misery
I am not sure what to do

While most others travel
On that wide and easy trail
As they boast of their fortunes
My path moves slowly like a snail

So naturally I turn to my Bible
To search for a new routine
And I’ll be darn – I found it
In the book of Matthew 7:13-14

Where it told me very clearly
I am where I am supposed to be
On the path with very few others
The one God has planned for me

I’ll keep skipping along with joy
Since I am on the right track
And I’ll be happy knowing
That He has my back

"Matthew Songs"

they sing their Matthew songs to me
Heaven’s hold is paved by stains ingrained
in glory dream streets of burnished gold
angels crowned by The shining nebulous, like poker cards fold

their heads bowed low to a mystery risen riding clouds
that fly across an empyreal chariot sky
all shades of intermittent blistering blue,
their memories now far away long gone

deliverance is a waited negotiation
heavy between two ancient warring souls,
twin flames – God,
and the one non-absolute soul that went wrong

both cry out in pain
both sing their siren songs

The Beatitudes Matthew Chapter 5

Blessed are the poor in spirit.
Theirs is God’s kingdom.
Many blessings from God…
They shall receive them!

Blessed are they who mourn.
 They shall be comforted.
In the loving arms of Jesus,
they shall be well rested!

Blessed are the meek.
 They shall inherit the earth.
And shall receive from Jesus.
 A “brand new birth!”

Blessed are they who hunger for
 righteousness. They shall be filled.
A desire to know more of God…
 has been instilled!

Blessed are the merciful. God’s mercy
 they shall obtain.
As they’re an expression of Jesus’
 wonderful name!

Blessed are they with a pure heart. They shall see God!
Though many in this world, may think they’re “odd.”

Blessed are those who are persecuted
 for God’s kingdom.
They share their testimony for Christ,
 to those who receive them!

Blessed are you when others persecute you
 and accuse you falsely.
Rejoice in the power of God!
 He loves you most assuredly!

Rejoice that heaven shall one day
 be your reward!
So YOU can rule and reign
 with Jesus our lord!

Blessed are we who serve Christ…
 The anointed one!
Blessed are God the father.
The Holy Spirit. And the Son!

Premium Member The Fruit Bearing Tree - Matthew 7: 16-20

God calls His own people to live
a life that bears real good fruit
fruit that comes from true living tree
both connected at it's very root

We need to be rooted in Christ
living for Him surrendered to His will
filled with His spirit display His love
hoping expectantly for His coming still

But in this world of fallenness
we have a fight deep within
there our sinful nature fights us
striving to keep us down in sin

In all of this battle within our soul
God's promised in us to show His son
showing His loving compassion to fill
us fully so we be Christ like won

Take courage keep looking to Jesus
in Him you'll be a fruit bearing tree
overcome sin, Satan and all things
in Christ alone fruitful you'll be

(' You will recognize them by their fruits. Are grapes gathered from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? So, every healthy tree bears good fruit, but the diseased tree bears bad fruit. A healthy tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a diseased tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Thus you will recognize them by their fruits'.)

Happy Birthday, Matthew

Today is a great man’s birthday
I wish he were here to know
That not a day goes ever by
That I don’t love him so
He means, not meant, the world to me
He’ll always be close by

So, brother, Matthew, in Heaven you are
Happy Birthday, I say, with teary eyes

Hurricane Matthew

Mother Nature's

devastation, you leave behind with your rage

Why do you leave so many homeless with your behavior?

What had we all done to wake your havoc?

The floodgates in the sky have opened.

Like a thief you break-in violating homes, taking evening the leftovers

The streets have turned to rivers,

in rage caring everything in its path to their death

Trees brought down like twigs as your breath leaps to speeds

We whisper a silent prayer,

"Still your heart"

~

unrestrained weather

extensive devastation

brings humanity

Premium Member Plea of the 'Bruised Reed'

Plea of the 'Bruised Reed'

On my knees; my head low
What to say I don't know
Can not speak yet it seems
though no words my heart screams

But that's the sound you hear
more than a word spoke clear
Each tear rings as stirred chimes
Each one dear not bound by time

In you're heart they're held tight
Kept safe from the world's bite
To you my worth is high
A gem tween earth and sky

But this I do not feel
I try but my head reels
My heart just can not see
the art you see in me

I have not much to give
By your Word I will live
I'll not let my faith go
Please help your child so low

Matthew

He forced his way in
'Matthew' they said his name was
He completely blew a hole in our lives
Obliterating out modest homes
Like a deck of cards
life was tumbling before our eyes
Those who tried to stand firm against him
were picked up and cast away
to one side as if meagre grains of sand
What we lost then cannot be replaced
It's the evidential costs of his wanton eye
the specifics of reality
that were plucked
tossed and stolen
He cared not that he was taking
their hearts and ours
Those families - villages - towns and nations
were left to pick up pieces and count the cost
of his unruly behaviour
The families in particular of Haiti and Florida
will be scarred from surviving his outrage
and many tears will fall
because of our inability
to tame this monster from his rampage
and prevent him from leaving
in his unashamed sulk
only then to be replaced
by the next perpetrator
wreaking havoc with their power and control
over the threads of life dangling in its wake
